To be leaders in any area this research necessary; but in politics many leaders are drop outs from schools / colleges.

You should have some quality by which you are able to attract droves of people to you! It is not taught in Colleges!!
 
Leadership qualities are totally different. It cannot be gained thru education. It has to come naturally.
 
We all go crazy for Engineering courses..But leadership comes easy for those specializing in Management or Humanities or even Law! This is the point that I would like our members to infer!
 
Leadership is both a research area and a practical skill, regarding the ability of an individual or organization to "lead" or guide other individuals, teams, or entire organizations. Controversial viewpoints are present in the literature, among Eastern and Western approaches to leadership, and also within the West, on US vs. European approaches. In US academic environments leadership is defined as "a process of social influence in which a person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task". Leadership seen from a European and non-academic perspective encompasses a view of a leader who can be moved both by communitarian goals but also by the search for personal power.

Studies of leadership have produced theories involving traits, situational interaction, function, behavior, power, vision and values, charisma, and intelligence, among others.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, however, a series of qualitative reviews of these studies (e.g., Bird, 1940; Stogdill, 1948; Mann, 1959) prompted researchers to take a drastically different view of the driving forces behind leadership. In reviewing the extant literature, Stogdill and Mann found that while some traits were common across a number of studies, the overall evidence suggested that persons who are leaders in one situation may not necessarily be leaders in other situations. Subsequently, leadership was no longer characterized as an enduring individual trait, as situational approaches (see alternative leadership theories below) posited that individuals can be effective in certain situations, but not others. The focus then shifted away from traits of leaders to an investigation of the leader behaviors that were effective. This approach dominated much of the leadership theory and research for the next few decades.

Amma (JL) and Modiji are both leaders. There have been leaders like Lenin, Hitler, Ho-so-min etc what educational degree did they need?
 
The majority of degrees only prepare you for a life of servitude, not leadership.
Then again if everyone became a leader there will be no follower.

I think the chart is for Business leaders not for Political leaders..For political leadership none of the above things work!! The leaders have a heady concoction that is able to inveigle the people!!

Earlier this year, leadership development consultants Jack Zenger and Joseph Folkman published the results of a study they conducted on the skills that leaders need to succeed in their current positions. They asked more than 330,000 bosses, peers, and subordinates to rank the top four competencies from a list of 16 key leadership skills.
After working through the results, Zenger and Folkman came up with a ranking of the leadership skills that are most important for success. Here are the top 10.
1. Inspires and motivates others
Great leaders create a vision of the future that is vivid and compelling, and that motivates employees to want to achieve it. Everyone wants to work for a company that makes a difference in the world. Great leaders are honest and transparent, and have high integrity--they do what they say they are going to do, and they walk their talk. As Umpqua Bank CEO Ray Davis said in his book Leading Through Uncertainty, "I always tell our people that they're entitled to get answers to every question they have. ... That doesn't mean they're going to like the answers. But it's going to be truthful, and I know they can deal with the truth. This might create additional questions, but we'll get through them. And we do."
3. Solves problems and analyzes issues
Ultimately, leaders are recruited, trained, and chosen to solve organizational problems, and to take advantage of opportunities in the marketplace. This requires not only excellent analytical abilities, but also above-average people skills.
4. Drives for results
Some people are happy to sit back and watch the world go by, while others aren't unless they are making things happen in their organizations. Great leaders have a higher level of perseverance, stick-to-itiveness, and drive than most anyone else, and they can be counted on to get things done.
5. Communicates powerfully and prolifically
Great leaders communicate with their people often, and in a variety of different ways. Whether it's by means of one-on-one conversations, team meetings, blog posts, email messages, phone or Skype calls, or any other such medium, leaders don't talk about communicating--they just do it.
6. Builds relationships
Business is built on a solid foundation of relationships and trust. Without these two things, you can't have a business, or at least not a successful business. Take time every day to build relationships with the members of your team, your customers and vendors, your boss and your boss's boss, others in your industry, and your community. The stronger your relationships, the better a leader you will be.
7. Displays technical or professional expertise
Most leaders start out in business with a specific skill, such as selling, or accounting, or designing software. The best leaders build on their technical and professional skills over time, becoming valuable experts in their field and skilled at leading their team.
8. Displays a strategic perspective
Great leaders have a long-term vision of the future, and they avoid getting bogged down in the here and now. While they can be tactical when necessary, they maintain the strategic outlook necessary to guide their businesses to the best future possible.
9. Develops others
Just as they work to continuously develop and build their own technical and professional expertise, the best leaders set aside time (and money in their budgets) to develop their work force. They look for the most promising employees, and provide them with the training they need to become their company's next generation of great leaders.
10. Innovates
According to General Electric's 2012 Global Innovation Barometer, which polled 2,800 senior executives on the state of innovation around the world, 92 percent of respondents agreed with the statement that "innovation is the main lever to create a more competitive economy." The ability to innovate is a key skill for every great leader.
Bonus: Champions change
It's no secret that the business environment for most companies is changing faster than ever before, which requires people and the organizations they work for to change right along with it. Great leaders see the changes coming on the horizon, and they constantly push their organizations to be in the right place when those changes happen.

I really do not think any degree can provide you with the leadership quality.
 
Education systems in most countries including USA do not prepare one to develop leadership traits. Some top schools provide the environment to develop leadership traits regardless of the major.

Leadership can be learned and one need not be born with it

The chart in the OP is flawed in my view. It is written by a business major.

I for one think that most MBA degrees are useless unless they have a solid undergraduate background in a demanding subject.
The one year diploma offered in Hyderabad and Chandigarh is a scam too but because people come from financially well off family and they make contacts , in the present context of India , they all do fine.
