The nakshathras or star clusters in our Mantrabrahmanam do not necessarily prove that our ancients believed that we had an extra-terrestrial origin, that they imagined living beings in all (some) stars, etc. A reading of our oldest scripture, viz., rig veda does not indicate any such notion clearly spelt out except what some people think as an allusion to a probable extra-terrestrial phase, in the 'naasadeeya suktam'.

According to science also, extra-terrestrial life cannot be ruled out entirely. But whether those aliens will try to befriend us or annihilate us, we cannot know. Just as we in this world fight each other for land, wealth etc., and try to do away with those who are different from us, these aliens may also feel animosity at first look. Hence it may be good that we are alone in this vast universe, at least temporarily!
