I would like to know if April 24 ,2019 is auspicious day for doing upanayanam for my son aashish s whose dob is 28.12.2007 time 1:39 am , in chennai.kindly confirm.

There are 2 ways of looking at upanayanam. On - its equivalent to marriage. The other is a phase of life when the the child matures to adoloscent and gets immersed in learning and accumulating knowledge. Its also a day when the child takes a solemn vow to earn by begging. (Bhavathi Biksham dehi). If its treated as auspicious occasion, then7,10,12,17 and 18th April is appropriate. In view of Marana yogam 22April is not considered.

Kindly give us a suitable date in uthrayana punyakaalam.
