[Need Clarification] Twin boys upanayanam can my husbands sister and her husband perform for one boy

Hi all

I have twin boys of age 9. Planning on doing upanayanam ceremony next March 2024. My boys are very close to their athai and athimber( my husband's sister and brother in law). We would like them to do the ceremony for one of our boys. The gotram differs but is it okay.

eaka garbha prasuthow chaeth aeka vaethii avabya cha aekaachaaryaicha lagnae cha kuryan mounchi vratham yatha: As per this rule for twins upanayanam must be done on the same day on the same place same acharya dhampathi on the same one homa kundam . so you have to do for both. for twins our sastras permits only one acharya dhampathy for initiation.

I am Padma, mother of twin boys who are currently 6 years. We are Telugu Brahmins.I stumbled upon your post when I was searching for Upanayanam of twins. Many of my relatives and priests were suggesting that Upanayanam of both boys must be done one after the other but not at the same time. I am a bit perplexed and would like to check if you had gone ahead with your twins Upanayanam on the same day? Is it ok to do on the same day? Your insights will be of great help.

our dharma sasthram says only for twins only their father must do on the same day all the proceedures and no need for another person .

Namaskaram sir, for 2 brothers (boys) can athai and athimber do for the younger one and for the older one amma and appa can do?

appa and amma yajur vedam and athai and athimber yajur vedam it is o k. every thing must be done separately for each boys and with separate vadhyars.except nandhi.

Hi I am Tamil Brahmin, rig veda... I am also planning to do upanayanam for my twin sons. My Rig veda ganabadigal says there is no reference on how to do for twins Rig veda... He is asking two sets of Acharya for same muhurtham or if parents want to only do for both then different muhurtham.Anyone has insighs whether this is okay?
