We learnt to sing the song in VasanthA rAgam. IMHO it is more effective in bringing out the excitement of finding MAthA SeethA!!

I have NOT heard the MukhAri version! That rAgam is usually set for lyrics with a sad mood.

It may not suit the lyrics of this song.
 
Our grand father taught the song in rAgam VasanthA, set to Thisra Gathi, to get the maximum effect!

Usually it is sung in Chathusra Gathi - The usual Adhi thALam.

The song is supposed to have 3 charanams, although I have heard only the first one being sung; may be one of the other two fits that Ragam, dont know.

No way, dear Ozone! Mukhari rAgam can bring out Bhakthi, pathos and sorrow. :(

Thank you for missing me Raji, hehehehee!! I was away in New York/New Jersey and came back on wednesday, I had already planned to go for two weeks, in the meantime, my son in law broke his arm so sort gave some moral support to my daughter, he is in good hands, my daughter is taking good care of him.. :-) I just happened to come to the forum last night..
