Something...Something!

Human body if often compared to a dress worn by the soul.
A soul takes on a new body just like a man wear a new dress.

When the dress gets very old, the man tosses it away and wears a new dress.
The soul drops down the old worn out body, takes a new body and lives on!

Now the reverse has started happening.
Just like old clothes are repaired, restored and reused
the old worn out human bodies are repaired and restored for reuse.

It is a good idea but it fails when the dress is damaged beyond repairs.
So also it fails when the body has got damaged far beyond repairs.

ONE must use one's discretion and decide
as to when to toss off the old worn out dress
and when to 'let go' a suffering human being.

#03. An Introduction

Accident is an unplanned incident.

One of the (N.R.I) swamis defined an accident very differently. He said that when two persons or vehicles A and B try to be at at the same point P at the same time T an accident takes place. He was absolutely correct.

Accidents occurring in man’s life may be unpleasant and scary…but not necessarily always!

When the right things come together at the right place under the right conditions at the right time, a lucky accident happens!

Some of the best discoveries have resulted from unforeseen and unplanned experiments-so to say accidents!

They have later been proved to be ‘Lucky Accidents’.
Let us view at some of the many lucky accidents.

Something....Something!

A human body is called as "A City with nine gates".
The nine gates allow the inputs needed by the body to go in
and let the unwanted and toxic outputs to go out of the body.

But these nine gates are nor enough for some patients and doctors.
They HAVE to make additional gates / holes / openings ...whatever.

Some people have holes made in the stomach .....
to help them take in some kind of food ( to keep them alive) OR
to help them pass out the waste into a bag to be disposed later.

New holes are made in the throat to help people breathe.
Some are used to draw out waste from various parts of the body.

Needles are left in the veins for administering frequent injections
Tubes are inserted to drain the urine for some unfortunate people

The human body is so sensitive that it can feel a single hair falling on its skin!
How does it put up with this network of tubes, needles, pads and bags?
Are we making them suffer a life in hell in the guise of making them live well?

Madam ,
Today being Ekadasi day,I uttered Rama nama. read Rama Mahimai and also remembered 'Pibere Rama
Rasam' of Sadasiva Brahmendral,.best rendering by Balamurali.
The gist of the song is that chanting Rama nama alone
can get you everything. I remebered that you also mentioned the same thing few days ago.
Shri Ram, Jayaram Jaya Jaya Ram!!!
Namaskars.

How do you like to watch the protest by a crowd of Thiruppathi gol gundus ( men with clean shaved heads) protesting on the delay caused in entering the Swarga Vaasal, with vehement shouts of "Down! Down!"

Oh boy! Am I happy that they stopped short of shouting "Balaji down! down!" or "Edu Kondalavaada! down! down! Venkatramana! down! down!"

What a weird kind of bkahti on a mass scale???
:shocked:
Sad to hear that. But if you isolate those people, they may be immature youngsters, The frontal cortex of men do not fully mature until around the age of 27-29 according to studies. These men still have to mature there. This is the area that decides good, bad, all decision making. Therefore, these people are acting on impulse like our youngsters falling in love (not really) and ditch the girls. This has been observed throughout the world. Historically these types of actions were not reported due to the absence of media. So, bhakti and frontal cortext maturity do not match. We need to learn to ignore these outburst and can not compare with say, a matured adult. This does not mean, we should not condemn, but it is their time.

I myself know the benefit of rAma nAma.
I spend at least one hour everyday in writing and reciting
'Sree rAma jayam' and 'Jaya jaya sankara hara hara sankara '.
This has helped me immensely.
My mother also used to write them everyday right into ripe old age of 92+
My grandfather used to recite rAma nAmA all day long - as far back as I can remember.
He lived like a saint with no desire of any sort.
"Where there is rAma, there can't by any kAmA"
rAmA and kAmA are mutually exclusive.
There are interesting Spanish words like
rama = branch
ramo = bouquet
Sree rAma rAmEti ... may have divine meaning is Spanish also.

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

600a. Ein guter Hund verdient einen guten Knochen,

600b. A good dog deserves a good bone,

It is a good policy NOT to acquire anything from anyone for free.
When we use the Time and Talent of someone for something
we must also make sure to pay them / repay them appropriately.

True! All things can't be valued in money.
Yet money can be used to repay for a favor.
After all it is said that "Everybody makes a living by selling something".

footnotes:
Ein = A
guter = good
Hund = dog
verdient = deserves
einen = a
guten = good
Knochen = bone.

P.S
I have been spending 4+ hours daily in learning German and Spanish for the past 307 days. I was pleasantly surprised when I got an invitation to attend the Virtual Global Conference conducted by Duolingo on 20th August 2021.

It may be some kind or recognition or honor for the time spent by me in learning these foreign languages. Nine members out of 10 in my family are students of Duolingo - some are seniors to me. But only I got invited. I have won a bunch of followers and well wishers in addition.

Hard work pays back in many mysterious ways.
Learning and Knowledge help rather than harm!

#04. An Introduction

FICTION AND FACTS.

Very often we find the characters found in fiction very realistic and life-like.
We often wonder how the authors could imagine so vividly-right up to very minor details.
This is possible since many fictitious characters are based partly or fully on real life
personalities. We will compare a few popular fiction heroes and their real life models.

Something...Something!

Some people make sure that you are kept at an arm's length.
They have criterias and requirement for forming a friendly bond.

If you are NOT on Facebook then you don't really exist.
HOW can there be any civilized person without a FB account?

Others have other restrictions to interact and form a bond of friendship.
These may be related to finance, popularity, power to control others etc.

I for myself don't care, if people want to keep their distance.
That ensures that we can do the same - without feeling bad!

Everything CAN and DOES work both ways! RIGHT?

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

601a. Lieber sofort ablehnen, als lange zu versprechen.

601b. Better to refuse immediately than to keep promising for long.

It is far better to refuse politely than to keep promising falsely ad for a long time.
A Promise is a debt. You OWE something to someone since you had promised.

If you make a promise, fulfil it by all means or by any means.
Otherwise never make a promise as long as you live.

footnotes:
Lieber = Better
ablehnen = to refuse
sofort = immediately
als = than
zu = to
versprechen = promise
lange = for long.

#05. An Introduction

Rhymes are simple melodious songs and nursery rhymes are what children listen to and learn from their mothers, at a very tender age.

Many of the words and lyrics found in the popular nursery rhymes have been used as a parody of the royal events and political happenings of that time.

A direct comment or reference to those events would end up in arousing the wrath of the authorities and getting beheaded in public!

So the names and identities have been hidden and those bitter truths have been saved and spread in the form of nursery rhymes-appearing really harmless and sounding sweetly innocent!

Something...Something!

Some freak accidents seem to be taken out of a cartoon.
They are so strange that they seem to be impossibly possible

I have had many such accidents in my life.
I have learned to laugh at them rather than cry.

The list is very long and may run to many posts.
So I will start with what happened to someone else.

The lady ~ 70 years is always distracted and can never focus on anything. She held onto the arm rests of two sofas and sat in the vacant space in between them!

How can anyone hold on to both the arm rests of the same sofa UNLESS
the arms add up to 7 feet or more in length?

She survived the fall with a crushed bone but has earned 2 months' complete bed rest!

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

601a.
Erfahrung ist die Mutter der Weisheit.
Notwendigkeit ist die Mutter der Erfindung.

601b.
Experience is the mother of wisdom.
Necessity is the mother of invention.

Experience runs a very hard school.
But fools would learn nowhere else.

Necessity transforms all of us into inventors.
We make 'what we want' from 'what we have'.

footnotes:
Erfahrung = Experience
ist = is
die = the
Mutter = mother
der Weisheit = of wisdom.
Notwendigkeit = Necessity
ist = is
die = the
Mutter = mother
der = of
Erfindung = invention.

The very word desert brings to our mind the scorching sun, unbearable heat, profuse sweating, unquenchable thirst etc.
But you will have to see in order to believe that some of the most exquisite and colorful flowers are found only in the desert areas.

Something...Something!

Something must be spent to gain / possess something else.
Nothing can be acquired without spending something else.
It may be money or time or hard work or even one's beauty sleep.

In addition to these we must also give up our EGO in one go....
if we are serious about learning something - especially languages.

HOW do children learn a new language so fast and so well?

They are not afraid to try to speak in the new language.
They are NOT afraid to make mistakes.

They are NOT afraid to make fools of themselves.
They are NOT afraid of being laughed at by the others.

Losing Ego = Gaining a language / skill
