# 9. Where is the snake?

Nick calls his wife Nina who is at work.

Nick: Did you take our pet snake with you to the Vet?
Nina: No! I will do so after returning home from work.

Nick: But the snake's cage is empty!
Nina: So what? It can't go out of the house.

Nick: But it can go to the guest room!
Nina: Oh!

Nick: my mother is staying in the guest room.
Nina: The snake is not poisonous. Don't worry!

Nick: The snake can scare her badly!
It is not good for her frail health.
Let me check her room first.

Nick comes back giggling all over, after a few minutes!

Nick: Nina! I can't stop laughing!
Can you guess what I saw in the guest room?
Nina: What did you see there?

Nick: I saw my mother playing with the snake.
She had seen it feeling so lonely in its cage.
So she took it to her room and is playing with it!

Nina: Everybody loves our snake.
It is a darling among snakes!

Moral:
All is well that ends well ?!

Quite often, worry is interest paid for loans that are never taken!

Well said! :)
Worry is also the interest paid before it falls due! :)

Have you heard of person who worry that "they have NOTHING to worry about'"

In Tamil worry is 'kavalai'.
It is a valai (a net) from which many people don't know how to escape.

Mein erstes deutsches Gedicht
(My first German poem)

Was ist ein gutes Gedicht?
Warum ist es so faszinierend?

(What is a good poem?
Why is it so fascinating?)

Es ist ein Gedankenfluss
Mit Reim und Rhythmus.

(It is a flow of thoughts
With rhyme and rhythm)

Wenn man originelle Ideen hat,

Wenn man Worte beherrscht,

(When one has original ideas
When one has mastered the words)

Er ist schon ein halber Dichter,
Die andere Hälfte legt sie nieder.

( He is already half a poet,
The other half is putting them down)

Nothing motivates me more than a
negative encouragement aka discouragement.

But I know how to convert every curse into a blessings!
A Boon and A Curse are the two faces of the same coin.

The Global pandemic has paved the path for
the global music concerts and dance recitals.

Think about it at leisure! :)

அன்றே கண்டு கொண்ட என் தந்தை டாக்டர் ராமனுக்கும்;

410b. It is better to be the head of a dog than the tail of a lion.

It is the head that thinks and makes decisions - whether right or wrong.
The tail follows the head wherever it goes - since it is attached to the same body.
It is better to be a decision making head than be a tail which just follows the head blindly!

Es = It
ist = is
besser = better
zu sein = to be
der Kopf = the head

#10. The art of breaking a bad news!

George is 'bird-sitting' for his friend Nina, since she is away on a visit.
Nina telephones to George to find out whether everything is OK.

George: How are you Nina? When are coming back?
Nina: I will come back tomorrow. How is everything there?

George: I have a bad news for you. Your bird flew away!
Nina: How can it be possible? She was put in a cage.

George: The cot fell down through the floor and hit the cage!
Nina: How can the cot fall down through the floor?

George: Well! The floor was very soft and the cot fell though.
Nina: How can the floor become so soft?

George: When the floor is flooded with water it will become soft.
Nina: Why was the floor flooded with water?

George: Well! We have to use water when there is a fire.
Nina: Where was the fire and why?

George: Only in your apartment. I think it was caused by the candles!
Nina: Why were there burning candles in my apartment?

George: I needed them for starting my meditation.
Nina is dumbstruck! The cascade of bad news is too much for her!

George: Nina are you still there? Don't worry!
I can take care of your apartment next month also.

Nina faints with a loud thud in her room.

#11. Rebate VS Respect.

George calls his cousin Mary on phone.

George: Mary! I got caught in a mad crowd!
Mary: George! You seem to be out of breath!

George: I am out of breath fighting my way out!
Mary: What is happening?

George: I got pushed down and people started walking on me.
An angry old lady has scratched me badly.
I have broken a tooth and cut my lips as well.
Now my mouth is bleeding!
Mary: Shall I call the police?

George: Why the police?
Mary: You seem to be in deep trouble!
Tell me where you are caught up.

George: Don't call the police. Can you come to help me out?
Mary: Where are you now? Tell me exactly.

George: I am in the Winter sale. I need your help to take out all the things I have purchased. The pace is worse than a mad house! But the discount makes it worth while!
Mary: ?????

#12. The missing cat

One fine day, Paula does not find her pet cat in her small apartment. It is her constant companion. So she worries about the dangers that await a well protected cat, outside its house.

She looks for it all over the neighborhood with no success. She goes back and makes posters with the photo of the missing cat and her contact details. She exhibits them in the prominent spots in the neighborhood.

Two days have gone by and still no news about the missing cat. Then she gets a telephone call. A man has found her cat. He is willing to meet her in a nearby petrol bank to hand over her cat.

Why doesn't he invite her to his house or is willing to visit her in her house? Mystery!

Paula goes to the spot at the appointed time and meets the man who had telephoned to her. He is a homeless man and is dressed in rags. He hands her the cat like a precious cargo. Paula is overwhelmed to get back her pet cat safe and sound.

The man turns away in order to leave Paula and her cat. Paula wonders how he has telephoned to her! The man points to the public phone booth nearby.

Paula: But you have to pay money to use the phone.
The man: Yes, but when it is important one has to spend money.

Paula: Why do you care so much about someone else's pet cat?
The man: I can see how much you love your cat. No one must get separated from anyone they love.

Tears stream down the eyes of both the man and Paula. She gives him whatever money she has with her - as a token of her gratitude.

Moral:
Those who have been separated from their loved ones, know best the pangs of separation.
