Think or sink!

Order is Heaven's first law.
Order must be the first law everywhere.

Order used to be the first law of Nature until
man meddled in the middle and shredded it.

The effects of climate changes predicted are scary!
The birth of every child brings forth happiness.

But are we leaving behind us happiness and prosperity to those children?
It is everyone's duty to remember this quote and behave responsibly in the future.

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

5a. Make haste with leisure
5b. Eile mit Weile

Footnotes:-
eile = hurry/ rush
weile = slow/ controlled

Haste will not make waste - if one hurries with controlled speed.

My little granddaughter stands under the shower for too much time.
And she takes her shower just before the supper time.
The rest of the family has to wait until she decides to come out after the shower.

So I taught my little grandson, younger to her, the above proverb.
I was promptly told the she knows only to 'weile' and not to 'eile'! :)

Is the decision to remain Anonymous...

an act of courage or cowardice???
This is the hottest discussion now.

It takes courage to speak the truth.
It takes patriotism to develop the courage.

It is sheer wisdom to remain anonymous...
in a land of trigger-happy and volatile people!

8a. Beginning is easy, pursuing is an art.

8b. Anfangen ist leicht, Beharren eine Kunst.

Many people set out to do many wonderful things but

some of them quit midway - when the going gets tougher.

Democracy means government by the uneducated, while
Aristocracy means government by the badly educated.
G.K.Chesterton.

So what is the name for the government by the uneducated Aristocracy? ?

A man is as old as he is feels,
A woman as old as she looks.

Does this explain why some old men can look harmless and inflict harms?
Does this explain why some women take extreme steps to appear young?

Ill and well!

A person went to a doctor to tell
That he was not feeling really well;

After being examined thoroughly well,
He was told," You don't know hygiene well!"

The Doctor told him to take simple digene gel,
And yet toward his fees charged his salary full,

Reducing the money in his pocket to nil,
And turning the man's sober face really dull.

I don't know what he will do with all this money
After parting with Charity as sweet as honey!

Taking into consideration different factors like duties, responsibilities, household chores, child care etc,

An Indian wife living in India = An Indian husband living in the U.S.A.

It is NOT just WHO you are but also Where you are

that determines WHAT you are!

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

11. Krummes Holz gibt auch gerades Feuer.

11b. Crooked log also gives straight fire

Footnotes:-
Word for word translation except that
auch = also & gibt = gives

Knowledge and existence.

We never covet to possess objects - whose existence we are totally ignorant about.
So the knowledge about an object and its greatness makes us wish to possess it.

We never wonder about things that don't exist- like
X Ray vision or Supersonic hearing ability in humans.

We never had them, we may never need them, and so we may never miss them!

The very fact that we talk about/ doubt about an object is because we can FEEL
that it really exists and YET we do not want to believe that it really exists!

So the very question ABOUT its existence is a PROOF that it really exists!

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

12a. Selbst ist der Mann; Selbst ist die Frau.
12b. You are the Man; You are the woman.

Footnote:-
There is no bifurcation as a man's job and a woman's job.
IF you really want to get something done, then do it yourself!

The pretty Medusa.

Medusa, Stheno and Euryale were the three Gorgon sisters. They were the children of the ancient marine deities Phorkys and his sister Keto, chthonic monsters from an archaic world.

Near them their sisters three, the Gorgons, winged
With snakes for hair— hated of mortal man—
While ancient Greek vase-painters and relief carvers imagined Medusa and her sisters as beings born of monstrous form, sculptors and vase-painters of the fifth century began to envisage her as being beautiful as well as terrifying.

In an ode written in 490 BC she is already already spoken of "fair-cheeked Medusa".

In a late version of the Medusa myth, related by the Roman poet Ovid, (Metamorphoses 4.770), Medusa was originally a ravishingly beautiful maiden, "the jealous aspiration of many suitors," a priestess in Athena's temple.

When Poseidon the "Lord of the Sea" raped her in Athena's temple, the enraged Athena transformed Medusa's beautiful hair to serpents and made her face so terrible to behold that-the mere sight of it would turn onlookers to stone!

In Ovid's telling, Perseus describes Medusa's punishment as a victim by Minerva (Athena) as just and well-deserved.

Fine end for a finer story isn't it?

Laying the foundation stone to the foul treatment of
women in the future -
get raped first and get punished later for being the poor victim of a rape!

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

13a. Taten sagen mehr als Worte

13b. Actions speak more than Words

These two sentences are word by word translation.

Hence no need for footnotes!:)

The German word 'tun' (pronounced as 'toon') means 'to do'.

Food for thought!

The easiest and the juiciest equation defining GOD or equating God to something each one of us should have felt at some point or the other in our lives!
GOD = LOVE
The concept is true with all religions, all regions, all languages, all cultures, all customs and all countries.
But defining LOVE has become more difficult - now that it has been equated to GOD!

It is by far easier to say what is NOT love.

Desire is not love.
Lust is not love.

Kaamam is not love.
Raagam is not love.

Pretending for a purpose is not love.
Loving for the sake of love is love.

Those who are lucky enough to feel this kind of pure love
can also feel GOD and need never doubt His Presence!!!

How can the less the greater comprehend?
Or finite reason reach Infinity?
Quote by John Dryden.

Anbe Sivam!

An empty stomach is not a good political adviser.

Imaginations is more important than knowledge.

Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding.

Albert Einstein.

P.S.

Yet Peace Keeping Force is the most popular phrase coined recently and used vastly!

மீண்டும் பூஜைகள்! வேண்டும் வெள்ளையப்பன்!!

கத்தி முனையில் கொள்ளை அடித்தால் மட்டும் போதாது;
