Is it fun to watch to get the elder grandkid - who wants to many things at the same time - get twirled round the little fingers of his parents. He is driven to desperation due to their non cooperation.

But the little one who does not want to do anything - except watch the T.V non-stop - twirls his parents around his little finger and drives them in desperation.

So it not always an in-law ( or an in-law turned out-law ) who drives us into desperation!
Even a tiny tot can do it, if he is already arguing as if he were a teenager - 10 year older than his single digit age!

This is a country in which children have more rights than adults.
They can get their strict parents into real trouble - just by dialing an emergency number!
It is said that "In USA parents are MADE to be ignored by their children!"
A short sentence born out of a long experience can't be wrong ! Am I right?

Deft definitions:

Idleness...The most tiring business of the jobless people.

Flattery...The art of telling people, what they think of themselves.

Woman...A creation of God, which a man can neither live with nor without.

A to Z of Swami Vivekananda's words of wisdom.

Arise, Awake and stop not until the goal is reached.

Bless men when they revile you.

Conquer yourself and the whole Universe is yours.

Do not meekly endure, be unattached.

Eat to Him, Drink to Him, Sleep to Him and See Him in all.

First get rid of the delusion, "I am the body".

Give everything and look for no returns.

Homogeneity, Sameness is God.

Incarnations like Jesus, Buddha and Ramakrishna can give religion.

Jana-Yoga tells man that he is essentially divine.

Knowledge exists, man only discovers it.

Look at the ocean and not at the waves.

Man as Atman is really free-as Man he is bound.

Never turn back to see the result of what you have done.

Out of purity and silence comes the word of power.

Perception is our only real knowledge or religion.

Quarrels in religion are always over the husks.

Religion without Philosophy runs into Superstition.

See no difference between an ant and an angel.

The more our bliss is within, the more spiritual we are.

Unchaste imagination is as bad as unchaste actions.

Vedas cannot show Brahman. You are That already.

We are human coverings over the divine.

Xian you will be when you see Christ. Look only for realization.

You are good, but become better.

Zeal with Faith: Have thee and everything is bound to follow.

Swami Vivekananda.

Divinity and the Infinity (represented by 'oo')

Infinity is a fascinating term used in Mathematics. It means limitless, endless,
uncountable, unmeasurable and unspecified.

The Laws governing Infinity are awesome too!

1. oo + oo = oo.

2. oo - oo = oo.

3. oo x oo = oo.

4. oo / oo = oo.

Whatever be the operation done on oo it always remains an oo!

The only other limitless, boundless, endless and unmeasurable thing we know is God! So God is also infinity. Yes without a doubt 'Divinity is Infinity'.

God creates the cosmos out of Himself but He never gets diminished by dividing Himself into so many individual lives or Jeevaas.

God is glorified by the devotees numbering in millions...but that does not multiply His glory which is already infinity.

God descends in the form of various avatars. That does not subtract his Power or Energy or Knowledge, which always remain infinity.

When the Shakti of all the Devathas add up into one glorious Maha Shakti it is still the same infinity and does get altered by the addition!

The only way to understand God spiritually and Infinity mathematically is to equate them permanently.

Infinity oo is the Divinity...aka The Poornam!

Strange to note that the English word Poornam contains the symbol 'oo' of infinity in itself! :)

Why do most people dislike / hate a person who is more organised,
more disciplined and more hungry for knowledge - for the sake of knowledge?
Do these virtues themselves become reasons good enough for disliking / hating a person?
Man can not stand the sight of anyone who has proved himself to be above the average population.

Politics is said to be the last resort of scoundrels! (Is it true?)

It is not politics that corrupts man,
but man corrupts politics.(Anon)

Dignity does not consist in possessing honors,
but in deserving them (Aristotle)

If you can not be generous when it is hard to be,
you won't be when it is easy to be.

Nothing is enough for the man,
for whom enough is too little.

(Time indeed to weed the greed from the need??)

Research...The ability to see what everyone sees
and think up what no one has thought about.

An old friend...The best mirror to look at yourself.

Sloth...The mother of Poverty.

Forgiveness...The noblest form of revenge.

Experience...The mother of Science.

Diligence...The best guarantee for success.

Leisure...Something the idle folks never seem to have.

Contentment...That which money can not buy.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be
ruined by praise than saved by criticism.

Wit is .....(in the words of a midwife's vocabulary)
Quick conception and an easy delivery!

Shortest sermon given by my dear Dad,
"When in doubt, Don't do it!"

It is far easier to acquire knowledge,

The first one is an one time effort,

#143. SPEECH AND SILENCE.

To live a problem-free-life as senior citizens, we have to remember and practice two Golden Rules.

The first one is to reply earnestly, sincerely and with interest to any idea/ suggestion/ advise sought from us – on any issue. The second one is to listen with rapt attention to whatever is being told to us.

These two rules look simple enough but they are not so easy to follow! If we keep aloof all the time, there will be no attachment between the members of the family.

At the same time if we keep on prying into every matter and business with curiosity, the youngsters will get exasperated. But we must not show indifference when we are asked to get involved.

To put it in a nutshell, if we learn to live like a lotus leaf, always in contact but do not dominate or pressurize in any way, we can live happily.

The real life dilemma is...
Lose an argument OR Lose a friend?

Arguments are a dime a dozen when many people interact.

But true friends are hard to find.
So a wise man will keep his friend.

A wiser man will avoid argument with his friend.
The wisest man will avoid arguments with anyone! :)

"A man who will not when he can,
may not be able to when he will."

"Many a fair face turns out to be a foul bargain."

A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue
but is the mother of all virtues.

everywhere and all the time!
