A ukelele is a instrument with 4 strings. The word 'ukulele' means 'bouncing fleas' in Hawaiian.
The ukulele was named and made in Hawaii, but was inspired by Portugal’s
four-stringed machete. People used to bring guitars out to sea to sing on a ship.
Then, people from Portugal traded ukuleles in Hawaii.
That is when the ukulele got it’s name. In the year 1886,
the ukulele became the official instrument if the Islands when King Kalakaua
took it up and featured it for the first time with hula dancers.
The 4 strings on a ukelele are G, C, E, and A.
All frets on the C Major Scale on a ukelele are placed on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd fret of the ukelele. Low C is the C string, D is 2nd fret on the C string, E is the E string, F is the 1st fret on the E string, G is the 3rd fret on the E string, A is the A string, B is the 2nd fret on the A string, and High C is the 3rd fret in the A string.
This ukulele at the side is a Figure 8 ukulele, the most common shape of ukelele there is.
The Figure 8 ukulele is in the shape of a guitar, and has a very focused tone.
The Pineapple ukulele is a little larger making it sound a little louder.

A point to ponder!
The lion cubs and tiger cubs are seen boxing with one another and with their parents.
It is just a MOCK fight - in order to keep in good shape.
They need that daily practice to remain in ship-shape.
Seeing the verbal bouts and :boxing: taking place here everyday, I understand that these too are just mock fights (verbally of course) in order to remain in ship-shape mentally and linguistically.
That is why it goes on and on .... untiringly between the same sets of persons. :croc:
Women on the other hand mean serious business when they engage in verbal bouts and sever connections immediately.
They probably have other ways of remaining in ship-shape than indulge in verbal bouts and :boxing:

Strength and Weakness.
During the two decades I spent in our township in Vizag, I had the good fortune of rubbing shoulders with many illustrious ladies there.
One of them was a popular novelist - who had several novels to her credit. Yet I have not met a simpler and humbler lady than her to this day! She had absolutely no airs and was the most unassuming person known to me.
The other lady had multiple PhD degrees. She came from an illustrious family and was well known in many fields in her own right and by her talents.
She gave me the motto of my life.

The First rule is correct - since as REAL Happy Ladies, we should avoid unwanted confrontations.
The Second rule is correct too. Evading an issue may be equated to our weakness/ ignorance or lack of conviction.
To this day I try to follow them!
One of my hard-earned-nick-names was "The No Nonsense Lady!"
I am sure I should strive to live up to my name.

So when you are shocked at the hiked price of an article it pays (or rather it saves a lot of money ) to register your sincere emotions!

My father never believed that the made-up face of a woman was more beautiful than her natural face.
He would often say that the ideal way of 'viewing the girl' a person is planning to marry is this:-
Select a Friday and go to the house of the girl unannounced. The 'nija roopa dharshan' can happen only then and there.
She would have had her oil bath and her hair will be unkempt. She would have removed all the glittering jewelery before the bath. She would be devoid of any kind make up.
If IN SPITE OF all these factors, the girl looks agreeable, then the boy may proceed further.
The reason...?
This will be the face he will be looking at for the rest of his life! :whoo:

அத்தனை பேரும் அறிவார் இக்கதையை.
செத்தும் கெடுத்தவன் ஒருவன் கதையை
மெத்தப் படித்த குரு எங்களுக்குக் கூறினார்!
ஒரே ஒரு கிராமம், அதில் ஒரு ஜமீந்தார்!
ஒரு மாதிரிப் புரிந்திருக்கும் உங்களுக்கும்!
கேட்க ஆள் இல்லாததால், எல்லோருக்கும்
வேட்கைப் படித் தொல்லைகள் செய்தாராம்.
இறக்கும் தருவாயில் அனைவரையும் அழைத்துச்
சிறந்த மழை போலக் கண்ணீர் பொழிந்தாராம்.
"என் வாழ்நாட்களில் நான் செய்த பாவங்களுக்கு,
என்னை யாராலுமே மன்னிக்க முடியாது அறிவேன்!
நான் இறந்த பிறகு என் உடலுக்குச் செருப்புமாலை
ஒன்று அணிவித்துத் துடைப்பத்தால் அடியுங்கள்!"
"மாட்டோம்! மாட்டோம்!" என்று மறுத்தவர்களிடம்
மன்றாடினார்! தன் ஆத்ம சாந்தியை வேண்டினார்!
வேறு வழியில்லாமல் அவர்கள் ஒத்துக் கொண்டனர்.
மறு நாள் உடலுக்குச் செருப்பு மாலை அணிவித்தனர்.
துடைப்பத்தால் அடித்துக் கொண்டு செல்லும் போது....
அடுத்து வந்து நின்றன நிறைய போலீஸ் ஜீப்புகள்!
அனைவரையும் கைது செய்து சிறையில் அடைத்தனர்!
அனைவருக்கும் தண்டனை கிடைக்கக் காரணம்.....???

Gone with the rain!
Her name was the time of the "Rising Sun",
And her face was as lovely as the full moon!
Spic and span at all odd hours,
Smiling and serving all the others!
I know her for just years ten,
And yet my heart she has stolen!
Closer to me than my own sibling,
Always happy in joyous bubbling!
Even when came here as a guest,
She would help and play the host!
She just left without saying "Bye! Bye!",
Never gave a hint that she is going die!
Broken hearted she must have been,
When her son married a Christian!
Her daughter is yet to married,
Left her often deeply worried!
She just took off like a "Poof!"
For God's existence I need proof!
Why did those words inauspicious,
Made my poem very conspicuous?
Did I know that there will be a crash,
When I was writing about the trash?
Left for Bangalore in a large car,
But reached eternity, age no bar!
Life is so complex that we hardly feel,
Until the unforeseen kicks with a heel!
No more of petty forum quarrels!
Nor posts but those of good morals!
Had I hurt any one of you here,
I beseech your dear pardon for sure!
Life is indeed a serious stuff,
Not to wasted in spurious huff!
I am off to pray for her dear soul,
That it may rest in Heavens' bowl!

A tearful farewell to my friend Mrs. Usha,
the wife of one of my husband's classmates,
and very good friend of everyone
who was lucky enough to know her.
Her co-sister-in-law and her family also died
in a horrible car crash three years ago!
Makes me wonder and ponder,
"Has God really blindfolded Himself
as the Goddess of Justice has done?"

The child is taught that a seemingly unimportant event or a thoughtless action may end up in creating very serious problems later in life!
The references to the horses, the riders and kingdom etc indicate the English origin of the rhyme. Most of the English Kings did not leave anything to chance.
King Edward III commanded obligatory practice of archery on all holidays and Sundays. This was to make sure that his archers remained in good shape!
Benjamin Franklin included a version of this rhyme in his Poor Richards Almanack.
During the World War II, this verse was framed and hung on the wall of the Anglo American Supply Head Quarters in London, England.

I lost my dear friend Usha during one night and came to know about it the next morning around 10 A.M.
She was as cool as the moon and looked like one too. She maintained her body like a collegian. She was always ready to help everyone without being asked to do so. She had the most cheerful countenance.
I was shattered to see her head shaved ( due to the postmortem) and her face changed so much with all the manjal and kunkumam applied on her face.
She looked even leaner and taller than usual. The whole group was crying and sniffing. The shock will remain with me always I think!
God must let the good people (who form the minority) live longer so that they can balance the effect of the majority (who happen to be evil).

The Night and our fright.
I had spent a sleepless night,
Tossing in bed with the insight!
Human life is so ephemeral,
And is also so full of trouble.
Scattered voices were soon heard,
When people should have been in bed!
What was keeping these people awake?
At middle of the night, for whose sake?
Soon the murmuring grew louder
And the news that made us sadder!
The young man who is our secretary,
Had also taken off to enter eternity!
Hurry, curry, worry and scurry,
Are the bane of modern society.
Hurry he always did, to meet
With the doctors' appointment!
Worry too, he must have been in,
With many problems unforeseen!
Curry is also a very likelihood,
Being of non veg brotherhood.
Did heavy smoking claim its price?
And took his soul away in a trice?
It was all the way merely digene,
When an E.C.G it should have been!
The whole colony is off-mood,
This is surely not for our good.
Miseries I believe strike us once,
Or in threes, but never ever twice!
What will be the unknown third?
The worry had made me feel tired!
Third too happened just as I feared!
Our plumber's own brother's suicide.
What varied ways end the human lives!
By oversight, neglect and wantonness!

I actually witnessed this happen today!
The young and educated wife refused to see the dead body of her husband who had passed away in his sleep and looked just as if in deep slumber. No distortions or pain or shock in his face.
The 12 year old boy did not realize the impact of the incident on his life and future.
The wife sat beating her chest and forehead but was unable to cry-since she refused to see her dead husband!
P.S.
The wife came out of her shock in the past seven years. She has started taking tutions in her house for elementary school children.
The boy has entered college. His maternal grandparents live with nim and his mother and offer them physical, moral and financial support.
I miss that good man who was in a haste to depart from the world.
