Why did she laugh and cry ???
During the flight back from Orlando, I got the middle seat in the first row with extra leg room. There was a Physicist on one side and a young mom with a one year baby girl on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I leaned back, crossed my arms, took deep breaths and silently chanted the names of God - trying to relax as much as possible.
'Thinking' is closely related to 'Breathing'. Control the breath and the thoughts get controlled automatically. Controlling the thoughts directly is much more difficult - compared to the controlling of the breath.
Aftr some time I found the tiny girl in pink dress standing in the leg room space with her eyes closed, her arms crossed and taking deep bresths - just as I was doing.
She made sure that I was watching her by opening her eyes at regular intervals and looking at me. She has her tiny ears pierced, her hair tied into a small bun and surprisingly well behaved for her tender age.
She read the alphabets written by her mom, played with her iPad, drew modern art with crayons held in both hands and kept us entertained.
Her mom was gigging all along. As we neared S.F, suddenly she started sniffing and crying. The baby got very concerned just as I myself did. We did not know what to do or why she cried.
Her husband was at Orlando and she was flying away from there to S.F. Did the separation make her sad?
May be he was one of the men under the heavy mask and fancy costume in the Disney World and that thought made her cry?
May be there was something which she did not like in S.F but was forced to go and face it?
I took leave of her and her child with a heavy heart - not being to help them in any which way!
