Selective cleanliness???
People polish the counter top, clean the stove top, table top and every other flat / curved surface in the kitchen!
But when their children handle their shoes and go straight to the dining table to eat food, they do not object!
Children may even pick up food fallen on the ground and eat it. Still no comments!
They may roll on the carpet and come straight from there to eat food. Still no objection!
Small wonder children become violently sick all of a sudden.
While so much care is taken for the clean exterior objects, the due importance is often not given to the products sent into the interior of the body!
Selective hearing???
The culture and etiquette of a person is said to be inversely proportional to the noise he/ she makes at the dining table!
In other words...more noise means the person is less cultured and less noise means the person is more cultured.
It is not just the clatter of the spoons on the plates but also dropping metal/glass things on the ground making people do the otherwise-impossible-sitting-high-jump.
Some male members have the habit of cleaning all the seven gates of their 'nava-dhwAra-puri' at the washbasin.
They gargle and spit, blow their nose like a trumpet, clean their face and eyes by splashing water. All these must be done in the bathroom and not in the dining room.
May be we should thank them for not doing the number 1 and number 2 business also there.
Least consideration is shown for those who are still eating at the table.
Some mahAtmAs go further and belch in both ways!!! :faint:
This is not the end of the story.
The saddest part is the way they react violently, when any of these is brought to the attention of any of those who indulge in doing any of these actions!!! :mad2:
