P.S.
I seem to be carrying not only the name of Goddess Visalakshi
but also her serving spoon / ladle / karaNdi.
My friends used to leave their kids with me when they had to travel urgently.
My elder son's class mate used to eat lunch in our house everyday.
I felt paavam seeing his sookka roti packed by his busy mother for his lunch
everyday. They will share the rotis and the food cooked by me.
He is a V.I.P. Naval officer now!
There was a neighbor's younger brother - the same age as my elder son -
who seemed to be always hungry. He and his mother were dependents on
his elder brother who had 4 kids of his own.
When boys have cupboards in their skeletons
they are happy to get something more to eat.
My immediate neighbors would find steaming hot food delivered at home
when they fall sick - even without asking.
BUT till today nobody ever returned the favor.
Not that it will stop me from doing similar things in future.
As my dad used to say, we must stand by our convictions.
