Think or sink!

My friend who was finding it difficult to climb 2 flights of staircase

has moved on to the fourth floors of an apartment!!!

The new apartment has lift and the old one did not have a lift.

The area is three times that of the old flat and

the cost is also three times that of the old flat.

What will a servant demand to work for a 2000 sq. foot house???

But he who can afford to buy the flat, can also afford to pay her salary!!! Right???
in delhi all Delhi development authority[DDA} flats are ground plus three without lift

those who occupy second and third floor flats have a hard time [specially senior citizen and heart cases ] climbing up the stairs.

in my group of 8 flats of ground plus three , three in second and third floors have leased their flats to others and have taken ground floor flats elsewhere

there were just unlucky that they did not get ground floor flats in lucky draw of DDA.

maintenance of large flats is also an issue . it pushes up the living costs substantially

if one looks a little healthy[ north indian term for not so slim people] large flats are a must. lol

The situations condense to this simple statement!

"He suffers most who suffers from a stiff upper lip!"

{Thanks to the mustache for making stiff upper lip a solo property of

the physically stronger and mentally and emotionally weaker gender!}
you have guessed correctly . I sport a mustache and cannot back it with muscle or mental power.lol

I know a gentleman who refused to stay with any of his 3 loving sons.

He had his own apartment with three bedrooms in a metropolitan city.

His life just popped off after complaining of sudden uneasiness,

while traveling in the car.

He paid through the nose for his cup of rice and a bowl of vegetables.

He would pay 6K for this simple food to his cook.

I bet she would hardly spend even 1 K for his food

and pocket the rest of the money paid to her for food,

and also carry home the left over food.

He lived at the mercy of his neighbors

whenever he needed medical attention.

He would tolerate the unending demands of his servant and cook

but he will not adjust with his own sons and their families.

There is neither logic nor reason nor rhyme nor rhythm in what he did!

His sons would feel guilty for no fault of theirs

imagining that they were failing in their duty.

May be that is what the old gentle man wanted

to make his loved ones feel guilty.

He too is dead and gone.

His apartment has become a museum peace.

It remains locked with all its contents.

None of the sons want to have anything to do with that.

May be the old gentle mans till haunts his favorite flat

where his thought he enjoyed hid freedom and liberty!
madam
what makes you think one cannot living economically in a separate flat

one can live in a 2 BHK instead of three

one can hire servants who are untrained and are easily available for a pittance ,

which DIL feels guilty these days for not supporting MIL. ypu might be imagining

daughters still might have some feelings

most seniors are required in their childrens houses as security and baby sitters or cooks. it is only need based

most seniors citizens go abroad to save their children money and get imprisoned in their childrens homes . some children are generous enough to take them out on

weekends . mostly only parents have misplaced sentiments.

it would be wise to live independantly as long as possible without becoming a burden on next generation

after one is dead and gone , guilt is a temporary feeling for some . Others might be happy that the old goat has croaked without leaving any liability.lol

I guess my family members want to look trim and thin

and I will be the ideal background for them

if the present trend continues! :pout:

Any day 75 is less than 80!!! Right???
you are as young you believe yourself to be

my brother in law aged 90 plus has been travelling alone in dubai -pune sector . you would not believe his age when he tells you

he once came to delhi from pune in a two wheeler driving himself over a period of 4 or 5 days when he was young.

both his parents lived past 95 years

when he felt uncomfortable , a doctor videographed his heart

he spends sometime everyday looking at the videos and enjoy them

still he is active in the kitchen using appliances like mixie and making juices .

also escorts his grand children to school at his age

it is only will power and capacity to enjoy what life has to offer

My better half gets worked up whenever people advise us NOT to travel on two wheelers.

He throws up a T.T.T right then and there or as soon as possible later.

I told him "We cant see ourselves seated on this BUT THEY CAN SEE AND THEY CARE!"

[ T. T. T = Terrible Temper Tantrum ]
going by scooter can be fun with wife on the pillion and it sounds very romantic also . I envy you and your husband

one brother in law while riding with his wife [my sister] did not realise that she had slipped off the back seat and drove couple of kilometres talking to absent wife on the

back seat, he arrived home with bruised wife cursing him . hazards of romantic rides

some guys are romantic by nature and live in a dream world . they could make love to a lamppost iin a saree [ many of such men are short sighted also].lol

THAT I should HEAR THIS from you

after a distant well wisher suggested this

instantly after hearing my problem!! :(
Expected this :moony: from you! :becky:

I had my own doubt whether you could do it! Because, to buy a pooshiNi bit everyday, make the juice by grinding it
in the mixie and to consume
250 ml in empty stomach for three months continuously, is not an easy task !! :ballchain:

dear Renu,

You are talking of fancy food items I do not even know how to pronounce

at a time when I have been ordered to live on raw vegetables (main dish)

with a tablespoon of cooked rice (side dish) to go with it! :frusty:
do not listen to doctors

fifteen years back Doctors gave me a long list of lay off when diagnosed with diabetis

after a few months , I threw it away and decided my own diet based on my understanding of my body . we are vegetarians . as long we avoid starchy and sugar

products or consume in moderation nothing much happens

I test my blood count at random once in 6 months or so . only eat in moderation and walk atleast a kilometre a day . the basic thing is to be happy and not take any

stress .

my close relation, a brother with a heart issue gave me a brilliant advice . he told me if any relatives raise their voices with another simply leave the place and return

after an hour . the issue would most probably would be resolved by then . I refuse to get caught in any squabbles

life can be beautiful when one shuts off from some realities

I suspect you taking your revenge by suggesting such things.

I know the doctors of chemistry and the medical doctors can help me out with this riddle!

How can the fasting sugar value be 164 when the P.P.value is only 162???

What is the solution to such a freak problem - besides a daily dose / shot of insulin???

pl do not worry too much about blood sugar nos . at your young age 160 plus for fasting and upto 200 random is good enough

pl do not keep checking very often blood sugar ,never do that.it will only increase your stress levels

many buy their own equipment for checking blood sugar. never do that

try to regulate your diet , do not get stressed and be happy at all times . you will live long .

transact with lot of members of this forum .

they will give you unlimited entertainment

you can read the hot thread on a tamil iyer girl wanting to marry a NB

you will enjoy the fighting between the members

it is better than WWF bouts.lol

When I had to buy a flat and in a hurry only two were available in the ground floor.
The promoter himself suggested the one i am living in now. God bless him.
The other block is as quiet as a fish market! I won't have survived the din for long!

what will be the difference between a goat and a goatee???

I am NOT really as old as I look!!! :nono:

I am at least 20 years younger than what I appear to be!

Once I left my husband on the road (highway) and rode away (my way) on the scooter.

It was not premeditated as I can swear crossing my heart! :nono:

He was cursing me in all known languages by the time

I took a U turn noticing his absence on the scooter. :)

Short sightedness and shorter memories DO make life beautiful!!! :thumb:

EVEN when I keep repeating that I am ready to try anything

to reduce my weight increasing by leaps and bounds???

If I can do ALL the household chores without any help / helper

I can also make myself a glass of kumbLangaai juice to shed the excess weight!

My dad used to feel that my presence acted as buffer in defusing many a crisis!

Yes! Fantasies are so much more fascinating than realities - quite often!!!

As if we made you become this size!!

BTW how many of your family members weigh > 75 kg???

I claim to be self-made in everything I am right NOW

height, weight and also in the other weighty issues!!!

All these days I thought that we belonged to the same family!

There are many IN MY FAMILY but I would rather not reveal their names here! :tape:

I have personally witnessed these dramas!!! :scared:
In fact I entered a similar thread the moment I entered the forum.
The right words will be "I took a dive headlong in to that thread!"
I got out unscathed using all my talent and thought power!"
I became instantly the most controversial new busy bee!!! :)

Today I attended the Ganapathy Homam in our colony temple 5 P.m to 8 P.M .

I sang to my heart's content and chanted the Ganapthy Atharva seersham and

Durga and Lakshmi sooktams along with the priest.

Mantras generate energy. In spite of a busy day with puja at home,

the gruhapravesam function in the forenoon and the

temple marathon puja and homam I still feel fresh!

Wonder at what time i will be able to fall asleep when feeling so fresh!

I will take long breaths repeating Soham (sa: + aham) and / or

Hamsa: (aham + sa: ) till NidrA DEvi decides to embrace and empower me.

Madam
I feel you have been putting on a great act . I fully believe you are totally young

Actress zohra sehgal wanted to date when she was 90 a man of similar age.

she had a great sense of humour'

she acted in films upto the age of 97 years

talking of Avviyaar , my wife when she was young college student used to be teased and called Avvaiyar as she resented the advances of boys of her age group.she

was and is very pretty.she used to sermonise boys and would stay away when as a group the boys along with girls go to movies bunking classes, she was a great spoil

sport

normally there is no shortage of members who try to show off their male superiority and use their psuedo brahmin knowledge to browbeat ladies and keep them in their

place, there is no shortage of MCPs

IF any lady stands up to them and challenges them , they launch personal attacks.

but it is worth challenging them instead of humouring them

if one belongs to a large family , there is never any shortage of family dramas .

you might have been called upon to be the peacemaker to cool and reconcile differing points of views .

Most ladies spend a lot of time being buffer between spouse and children where all their talents are put to full use

overtime they become experts at double talk and managing contradictions.lol

To realize the real value of money and how hard
it is to come in possession by any honest means -
all one has to do is to out and try to borrow some!
VRji
who told you borrowing is difficult?

one has to have only credentials. credentials means pieces of papers which one can collect and give to a bank [a nationalised one] .lo you have the money

it is easier to borrow big money than small money . it is more difficult to earn it

you know the nationalised banks have got what are called NPAs . this is money borrowed by big players which they have not bothered to return .

always think big if you want to be big in life. honesty has nothing to do with all this

A Man is as old as he feels and
A Woman is as old as she looks!
A woman is never old. only men have defective eyes in case they find any woman old

my mother in law when she was 65yrs used to get offended when anyone called her patti

she used to say ' I am patti for my grandchildren and not anyone else'

when I once foolishly used the expression for her when referring to her while talking to my children , she flared up

she said I am as old as your elder sister only

Age is a very sensitive issue for ladies.

never remind them of it.lesson learnt by me the hard way
