Think or sink!

Our Ithigaasaas, Puranaasas show the path of Bhakti maarga to attain salvation. Nowhere have we, rather I seen that fanatism is a part of Bhakti in our Hindu religion. If people create stampede in the places of worship, it shows their lack of patience, lack of discipline as we see on the metropolitan roads. There is no reason to attribute this human weakness on one of the important yogas expounded by various learned rishis, vedas, Idhigaasaas and Puraanaas to attain Salvation.

Very well said Mr. S.S! :clap2:
Personally I hate to be part of any crowd- more so of unruly crowds.
I have admired with awe the discipline shown by by city people
when they gather to listen to Swami Dayanada Sarawati's lectures.
There will be pin drop silence, before during and after the lecture.
Every on will leave as quietly as they had come in.
I think just like greatness which rubs on to us by our association to great people
discipline also rubs on to us by our association with people who are well disciplined.

A few years ago we attended a marriage at Guruvaayoor.

The group got divide into two since some people

wanted to have the nirmaalya darshan early in the morning

and the other group wanted to keep away for various reasons.

I kept away since I will never be able keep pace with the others.

I was told later that as soon the darshan started

people ran into the temple as if they were racing.

The time was 3-30 A.M and I fail to see the need for the sprinting.

I was happy I stayed back since I would rather meditate on the God in

solitude and quiet than do stunts and get pushed down in the mad rush!

Bhakti is the strong intense love for god and there is no need to stand in long

serpentine queues for hours or days gossiping on various things

or run, hop and do triple jumps never thinking of God even for second!

When the blind Sur Das sang Krishna's praise
it was Krishna who went to the bhakta to listen to him
and not the bhakta who ran to see the God.

Each and every one has his own way of thinking. You cannot dictate one's way thinking. A glas half filled with water will be a life saving drug for one person whereas the same will be just a liquid required to wash away his hands.

One has to experience his or her own way and think and re-think on the matter twice or thrice before giving up the word, as till the time the word is in your thought, it is precious, once the same is told, it becomes a property of the other person and it can harm the sender himself many a times. Therefore while communicating, we should be very careful in letting out the words.

Hope everyone will understand the importance of communication. Thank you for reading my views.

God willing and my health permitting

my next blog will be on the Saints and Cultural Leaders of India.

I may get really settled to serious blogging only after September 3rd.

My plan is to post 3 poems per day but it is only 2 per day as on today!

So Devi Bhaagavatam 8th Skanda is taking more time then I had estimated.

The long bus was parked close to the outgoing exit in Ukkadam.
We had to squeeze through the narrow space to get in and
if by any chance the bus driver stars the bus...:scared:
I asked the driver "chatni paNNivida maatteengaLe?"
He laughed loudly and promised to wait until
I crossed the entire length of the bus safely!

I hate to get down in intermediate stations and stops but sometimes it can't be avoided.
In both the places, the conductors of both the buses told me with concern
"pathukka pathukka pONam ketto."
(Take your time and there is no need to hurry)
Humanity still exists in the minds of such people.
They meet hundreds of people everyday and would
easily know who suffers really and who is just posing!

So you would rather get cut off completely from them

than bend and give in a little to live together or nearby!
there are two types of people
bending people -those who normally crawl when they are told to bend

breaking people -those who stand up until broken when facing the situation of having to bend

people are strange . they do not see reason . they have an ego which prevents them from going to any person to take care of them

The situations condense to this simple statement!

"He suffers most who suffers from a stiff upper lip!"

{Thanks to the mustache for making stiff upper lip a solo property of

the physically stronger and mentally and emotionally weaker gender!}

I know a gentleman who refused to stay with any of his 3 loving sons.

He had his own apartment with three bedrooms in a metropolitan city.

His life just popped off after complaining of sudden uneasiness,

while traveling in the car.

He paid through the nose for his cup of rice and a bowl of vegetables.

He would pay 6K for this simple food to his cook.

I bet she would hardly spend even 1 K for his food

and pocket the rest of the money paid to her for food,

and also carry home the left over food.

He lived at the mercy of his neighbors

whenever he needed medical attention.

He would tolerate the unending demands of his servant and cook

but he will not adjust with his own sons and their families.

There is neither logic nor reason nor rhyme nor rhythm in what he did!

His sons would feel guilty for no fault of theirs

imagining that they were failing in their duty.

May be that is what the old gentle man wanted

to make his loved ones feel guilty.

He too is dead and gone.

His apartment has become a museum peace.

It remains locked with all its contents.

None of the sons want to have anything to do with that.

May be the old gentle mans till haunts his favorite flat

where his thought he enjoyed hid freedom and liberty!

Women on the other hand can bind and bond with sons and daughters more easily.

May be they also bend, bind and bond but they make themselves as useful as is possible.

The reason and secret behind this...???

Women DO NOT HAVE either mustaches and stiff upper lips!

My friend who was finding it difficult to climb 2 flights of staircase

has moved on to the fourth floors of an apartment!!!

The new apartment has lift and the old one did not have a lift.

The area is three times that of the old flat and

the cost is also three times that of the old flat.

What will a servant demand to work for a 2000 sq. foot house???

But he who can afford to buy the flat, can also afford to pay her salary!!! Right???

People living in large houses have 2 or 3 servants.

One for each job of jaadu, bharthan and kapada.

The secret is that even when one or two of them are absent

the third one can be made do their work by paying extra cash.

It is far fetched that all the three are absent on the same day-

unless of course they want to go on a strike.

For those who do not have even one servant
everyday is the same...monotonous and filled with chores! :bump2:

I burst out laughing when a friend suggested

drinking the juice of kumbLangaai (while pumpkin)

on empty stomach to reduce the body weight.

Can pumpkin juice fight the pumpkin wight???

My better half gets worked up whenever people advise us NOT to travel on two wheelers.

He throws up a T.T.T right then and there or as soon as possible later.

I told him "We cant see ourselves seated on this BUT THEY CAN SEE AND THEY CARE!"

[ T. T. T = Terrible Temper Tantrum ]

kannadigas have a beautiful word 'Adjust maadi'

From seating in buses [five to six in seats meant for three], hotels[ one by two ,two by three coffee and snacks] share autos, sharing of flats [rooms ,kitchen etc], work [sharing of

work table] all operate on this principle of adjust maadi

they are happy they say .lol

The favorite expression of my
second D.I.L from Bangalore is
"Majaa maadi!" :thumb:

I Telugu they would say
"Koncham sadhukkoNdi
for Adjust maadi!"

 As long as no one says
"sarithaan POdi!"
