சிரிப்பும், அழுகையும்


சிலசமயங்களில் அழும் விலங்குகளும்;
சிரிக்கத் தெரிந்தவன் மனிதன் மட்டுமே.
வாய் விட்டுச் சிரித்தால் நம்முடைய,
நோய் விட்டுப் போகும் என்பார்கள்.

சிரிக்க சிரிக்க சிரிப்பு என்பதுபோல்,
சிரிப்பவரைக் கண்டாலே சிரிப்பு வரும்.
சிரிக்கும் போது முகமும், அகமும்;
சிறந்து அழகாய் தோற்றம் அளிக்கும்.

சிரித்து வாழ வேண்டும்; ஆனால் பிறர்
சிரிக்கும்படி நாம் வாழக் கூடாது.
சிரிப்பது சுலபம், மிக எளிது, ஆனால்
சிரிக்க வைப்பது கடினம், மிகக் கஷ்டம்.

மகிழ்ச்சியை நாம் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டால்,
மகிழ்ச்சி பலமடங்காகப் பெருகும் ;
அழுகையைப் நாம் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டால்,
அழுகை, படிப்படியாகக் குறையும்.

உலகில் பிறக்கும் போது ஒருவன்,
அழுது கொண்டு பிறப்பான்; ஆனால்
உறவினர்கள் அனைவரும் மிகவும்
ஆனந்தமாய் சிரிப்பார், மகிழ்வார்.

வாழ்வாங்கு வாழ்ந்தபின் ஒருவன்
சிரித்துக்கொண்டே செல்ல வேண்டும்.
ஆழ்ந்த துயரில் அவன் சுற்றம், நண்பர்
சிந்த வேண்டும் கண்களின் அருவி.

பிறப்பிலும் சரி, இறப்பிலும் சரி,
மகிழ்ச்சியும் சரி, அழுகையும் சரி;
இடம் மாறி, மாறி, நம்மிடம் பலவித
