I know a very old couple.
The wife always refers to the husband as
ithu, athu as if he were a mere animal.
Probably he had done NOTHING to
command or even demand her respect.

While standing in a long Queue to cast our votes,
the lady doctor whose mother tongue was Kannada
had referrd to a person in the ques as athu.
The enraged woman was ready to pounce on her.
I intervened and explained to that woman that
the lady doctor did not know the local language
and save the people standing in the queue from a showdown.

If is his inseparable companion once he comes back home
from his play school.

Today he was singing sweet songs about a kutty paappaa.

Every line was Latin and Greek until it ended with the words kutty paappaa.

I observed with delight and told my son and daughter in law.

"I am amazed that Tejas has so much affection for his little brother TaruN!"

Imagine my reaction when they burst out laughing and told me that

"Kutty paappaa was the name of Tejas' pet dog pillow"

And my son was the thaaththaa for the dog pillow since

Teajas himself was the daddy of his kutty paapaa!

My elder son when he was young would bug my father as he emerges
from the bath room - dressed in a long and wide towel.

He would follow him faithfully everywhere
without giving him the privacy needed to get dressed.

Everyday he would ask my father the same question!
"Thaatha neenga aambaLaiyaa pombaLaiyaa?" :decision:

Tejas gets the same doubt now and keeps asking my son
"IS paatti a girl???" every time he sees me!

i remember that my favorite nephew once asked

"Why do all the aunties have puris on their body?"

He was right in naming them as puris....since they were also

soft, inflated, deflatable and hemispherical in shape! :high5:

I used to get up at 5 AM with a guilt feeling that I had overslept.

I now get up at 6 A.M. without feeling guilty!!

The reason....

Previously the packets of milk were in the fridge waiting for me to get up.

NOW The packets of milk are delivered at the door only AFTER I get up!
