Dyslexia is characterized by difficulty with learning to read fluently and with accurate comprehension despite normal intelligence.[SUP] [/SUP]This includes difficulty with phonological awareness, phonological decoding, processing speed, orthographic coding, auditory short-term memory, language skills/verbal comprehension, and/or rapid naming.

Developmental reading disorder (DRD) is the most common learning disability. Dyslexia is the most recognized of reading disorders, however not all reading disorders are linked to dyslexia.

Adult dyslexics can read with good comprehension, although they tend to read more slowly than non-dyslexics and perform more poorly at spelling and nonsense word reading, a measure of phonological awareness.

Some see dyslexia as distinct from reading difficulties resulting from other causes, such as a non-neurological deficiency with vision or hearing, or poor or inadequate reading instruction.[SUP]

[/SUP]There are three proposed cognitive subtypes of dyslexia (auditory, visual and attentional), although individual cases of dyslexia are better explained by specific underlying neuro-psychological deficits and co-occurring learning disabilities (e.g. attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, math disability, etc.)

Although it is considered to be a receptive language-based learning disability in the research literature, dyslexia also affects one's expressive language skills. Researchers at MIT found that people with dyslexia exhibited impaired voice-recognition abilities.

[SUP] [/SUP]It is believed the prevalence of dyslexia is around 5-10 percent of a given population although there have been no studies to indicate an accurate percentage.

Spring cleaning has become Autumn cleaning.

Books are being collected for the use in the Government schools.

A nice way to make sure that my collection does NOT end up

in the grocery shops to make paper packets.

I myself am surprised I have collected so many books.

Since the day will be spent the in segregating the books,

I will post one of my poems today also.

கத்தை கத்தையாய் பச்சை நோட்டு,
கலகலக்கும் நாணயக் கூட்டு,
இவைகள் அளிக்கும் உற்சாகம் ,
இனிமை, அருமை, பெருமை, உண்மை !

தேடித் தேடி பொருள் ஈட்டி,
ஓடி ஓடி அதைப் பெருக்கி,
நாடி நாடிச் செலவுகள் செய்து,
கூடிக் கூடி இன்புறுகின்றோம்!

உலகில் வரும்போது வெறுங்கை,
உலகை விட்டு செல்லும்போதும் அதுவே!
சேர்த்து வைத்த செல்வம் எல்லாம்,
சேர்ந்து வராது செல்லும் போது!

எத்தனை அழகிய வீடோ, மனையோ,
எத்தனை சிறந்த உடையோ, நகையோ,
எத்தனை அதிக பணமோ, காசோ,
எத்தனை செல்வச்செழிப்போ, களிப்போ,

செல்லும் போது உடன் வராது ஒரு
செல்லாக்காசு கூட! நாம் சேமிக்கலாம்;
செல்வத்தை கொடுக்கலாம் வாங்கலாம்;
செலவுகள் செய்து மனம் மகிழலாம்!
