Think or sink!

அப்புசாமி:
ஒரே உல்லாசமாக இருக்காங்களே என்ன விஷயம்?

குப்புசாமி:
எல்லாம் ஒரே விஷயம் தான்! பொல்லாத பண விஷயம்!
முதல் வாரம் ஆச்சே! சம்பளப் பணம் அப்படியே
முழுசாக் கைக்கு வந்திருக்கும் அம்மியாருக்கு!
அப்புறம் உல்லாசத்துக்கு என்ன குறைச்சல்?

Dear Tmt VR, Tmt RR, Murthy Sir,

I found it - post # 3185 i.e., Tmt RR's beautiful portrayal.

I've written it down and will mug it up. This gives me some ammunition to let fly in a gathering of
people whose Tamil is worse than mine. They've previously heard me quoting from Shakespeare, Shelley, Milton,
Kabir, Rahim, Khaleel Jibrail, Tagore and Swami Vivekananda. Ha, it's going to fun, letting one out from
the Avvaiyar armoury.

I think there is a lot of such ammunition that I can gather from you all - just that I must make sure to
get the pronunciation right - maybe even rehearse it a few times or else I'll look like a suicide bomber
whose payload just didn't detonate !

Just kidding - I really learnt something nice.

Thanks again

Yay Yem

Raji Mam

No no, I don't use 'DEE' even while addressing my wife or daughter .

Sign boards in Tamil like "PITCHA CUT" [ for Pizza Hut, near Sterling Rd, Nungambakkam ] and
those for DTDC [ Desk-To-Desk Courier ] and TTDC [ Tamilnadu Tourism Development Corpn.]
tickled me a lot - both these read as DEE DEE DEE SEE !

I'm learning [ Sangom successfully taught me two very indecent words - on this very forum! ]

I'll survive.

Yay Yem

I would give sound advice.
Start with simpler quoted of Avvaiyaar to begin with
to impress those who could be successfully impressed.
I would go for "ARam seyya virumbu"
"Aaruvathu sinam" etc
There is a whole bunch of short cute quotes.

A to B:
"You said you did not like two words widely used."

B to A.
"Yes! One is lousy and the other is weird!"

A to B:
"What might those words be?"

B to A :
"I just told you. One is lousy. The other is weird."

So what might those other two words be??? :noidea:

Men stopped using the suffix DI with the female members of the family.

But women have started using DA with the male members of the family.

It probably shows who Is / Was / Will be the 'boss in the house.' :couch2:

I like addressing little boys and ennamma! and little girls as ennadaa!

So little VaruN says "Thaammaa!" when he wants something to be given to him.

He also says "Indhaa" while handing over something to his Dada or Didi.
