Your posts 971,972, 973 974 & 975 - I don't think anyone is doubting / questioning you.

Just that we have such a horrible record of not logging things in the chronological order that
things sound illogical. There is enough evidence to show that the Sethu Bridge built by Sri Rama
was an engineering marvel - but the dating seems something like 1,75,000 years ago!

A little narrative of how the Vindhya range of mountains came up before Sage Agastya returned to
Northern India after he came to the came to the South is itself quite mind bogging. Geo-Tectonic
studies show that it takes millions of years on the Earth's crust to form a mountain range. So, what exactly
are we talking about - especially in today's concept of 'time' ?

Surely, 'they' [ the elders of bygone times ] were trying to say something - definitely they didn't have a
short, stubby, bearded, pot-bellied [ Sirkali Givindarajan lookalike ] in mind when they described the Earth
tilting and Sage Agasthya moving to the other side as a counterweight to balance it! But the Earth does have
a tilt, because of which the seasons, monsoons etc occur.

Academicians record history. Poets don't. The flowery flattery of poets has always created a
'larger-than-life' image of even very ordinary people. It is here that we have got mixed up and confused
between fact and fiction - this has happened through the centuries.

I had earlier posted in a different thread about Indus Valley Civilization and how possible evidence of
nuclear holocaust might have caused the disaster that led to its devastation has been found.
Recent scientific dating here seems to fit somewhat closely with NASA's dating of the Sethu bridge .

'They' were definitely not having in mind a tall, handsome, muscular [ 6 pack abs, if you want it ], warrior,
wearing a gem studded golden crown, plunging into battle on a horse drawn chariot - a quiver full of arrows strung
over his shoulder - one of which was called the 'Brahmastram' - capable of destroying the world.
That was just a poet's description.

The description of the weaponry is more like today's ICBMs with nuclear warheads. And the 'Mantram' that
Karna forgot was something like a password /PIN changed without his knowledge.

Reg Smt RR's post on the new Temple - 25 yrs ago there was nothing there - looks like someone
hit a bright idea that seems to sell !

The ancients had a numbering system very similar to our binary numbers.

People did penance for tens of thousands of years. HOW???

If I remember correctly Ramarajyam lasted for 11,000 years.

Dasaratha married a new girl every year and thus had 60000 wives in addition to his 3 queens!!!

Surely he must have lived for longer than 60,000 years - to able to marry that many girls.

So their scale is NOT the same as the Arabic numerals we use now.

Regarding the Vindhya range you have got all mixed up. It was

there even before Agasthya came down to the South . It promised to

keep a low profile until he went back to the North- which he NEVER did.

So even today it is supposed to lie low - waiting for our mini-muni

aka kurumuni to return to his abode in the north.

As for the weight of a person, it can be changed if a person possesses

the Ashta siddhi called aNimaa siththi.

Lagimaa makes a person feather weight - light enough to float in air.

Garimaa makes him heaviers than thousands of elephants and he could

NOT be moved or budged by an inch by any number of people.

This has been recorded in the adventures of Alexander in India.

Heroes are depicted larger than life ...ALWAYS and EVERYWHERE!

We have seen the movie heroes pull out the sword which had pierced

through and through from chest to the back and kill his enemy before he

breathes his last.

The melodramatic hero pulls off all the life supporting system, manages

to walk in the drenching rain to save his lover/ wife/ girl friend

from being molested by a group of tough ruffians.

Brahmastram, angi ashtram, nagaasthram, vayu asthram, varuna

asthram all had effect becuse of the mantras chanted when they were

used. Sound has more power than we are willing to credit it with.

Do onkaara chanting in the right manner and notice the differenc in your

body, mind and emotions

Is there any rule that alll the temples MUST be ancient and none could be

built contemporarily.

Sorry brother. Unlike the Ramayana, your arguments may sound loud but

will hold neither water nor vapour (POISONOUS GAS??)

வருந்தி ஓலமிட்டனர் தேவரும், மனிதரும்.

தேவதேவனை வணங்கிய அகத்தியர்
வேகமாக அடைந்தார் பொதிகையை.

முன்போலவே உலகு சமநிலை அடைய,
மன்னுயிர்கள் எல்லாம் நிம்மதி அடைந்தன.

குற்றங்கள் நீங்கிய புலவர் நக்கீரன்
முற்றிலும் விரும்பியது சிவ வழிபாடு!

சிந்திக்கச் சிந்திக்க அவன் மனம் நன்கு
பந்தப்பட்டுவிட்டது சிவபெருமானிடம்.

நெற்றிக் கண்ணால் எரித்தார் சிவன்,
அற்புத வடிவழகன் ஆகிய மன்மதனை!

அரியும், அயனும் காத்தருளவில்லை,
அரனின் தீப்பார்வையில் இருந்து அவனை!

என்னைக் காத்தது பொற்றாமரைக் குளம்.
என்னை எக்காலமும் காக்கும் இக்குளம்.

முக்காலமும் முங்கிக் குளித்துவிட்டு கீரன்,
முக்கண்ணனைத் தொடர்ந்து வழிபட்டான்.

நக்கீரனின் தீவிரபக்தி பாவத்தை அறிந்த
முக்கண்ணனும் மனம் குளிர்ந்து விட்டான்.

தங்கத் தமிழைப் பிழையின்றி அறியவில்லை!

வழா நிலைச் சொல், வழூஉச் சொற்களில்
வழுக்கி விழுவது வழக்கம் ஆகிவிட்டது.

“குற்றமற்ற இலக்கணத்தை போதித்தருள
முற்றிலும் பொருத்தமான ஒரு குரு யார்?”

தங்க வண்ணனின் இந்தக் கேள்விக்கு
அங்கயற்கண்ணி அம்மை பதில் ஈந்தாள்.

“தங்களுக்கு நிகரானவர் நம் அகத்தியர்!
மங்கள லோபமுத்திரையோ எனக்கு நிகர்!

அன்று ஒருநாள் கயிலையங்கிரியில்
வந்து குழுமினர் தேவர், முனிவர்கள்;

கூடி விட்டவர் பாரத்தின் விளைவாக
மேடிட்டு விட்டது தென்பகுதி அன்று!

தாழ்ந்து விட்டது வடகிழக்கு பிரதேசம்,
உயர்ந்து விட்டது தென்மேற்கு பிரதேசம்.

சமன் செய்து உலகினைக் காத்தருள
தமர் அனுப்பினீர் அகத்திய முனிவரை!”

கரியை நிகர்த்த உடல் எடை அடைய
“கரிமா” என்னும் சித்தி உதவிடும்.

லேசான இறகு போல உடலை மாற்ற
“லகிமா” என்னும் சித்தி உதவிடும்.

பிரியப்பட்ட இடத்துக்கு உடனே செல்ல
“பிராப்தி” என்னும் சித்தி உதவிடும்.

விரும்பிய பொருட்களை அடைந்திட
“பிரகாம்ய” என்னும் சித்தி உதவிடும்.

ஈசனுக்கு நிகரான சக்தி அடைவது
“ஈசத்வம்” எனப் பெயர் பெற்ற சித்தி.

யாராகிலும் தன் வசப்படுத்துவது
“வசத்வம்’ என்கின்ற சித்தி ஆகும்.

அஷ்ட சித்திகளும் அடைந்தவருள்
அனுமனே மிகச் சிறந்தவன் ஆவான்.

தனக்கென்று இல்லாமல் பிறருக்காகவே
தன் சித்திகளை அவன் பயன்படுத்தியதால்!

வாழ்க வளமுடன்,
விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

அரிய படையை நடத்திப் பாரதம் வந்தார்.

கங்கைக் கரையில் அமர்ந்து மெளனமாக,
சிங்கம் போல தவம் செய்யும் சாதுக்கள்,
சந்நியாசிகளைப் பற்றிக் கேட்டு வியந்தவர்,
சந்நியாசி ஒருவரைக் காணவிரும்பினார்.

தளபதியிடம் அரசர் ஆணையிட்டார்,
தாமதமின்றி படையுடன் சென்று,
உலகம் துறந்த ஒரு சிறந்த ஞானியை,
கலகம் இன்றி அழைத்து வருமாறு!

“எமக்கு உம் அரசரிடம் என்ன வேலை?
எமது தொழில் தவம் செய்வது ஒன்றே!
உமது அரசன் என்னைக் காண விழைந்தால்
உம்முடன் நீர் இங்கு அழைத்து வாரும்!”

தளபதியின் சாந்த குணம் மாறியது;
தாளமுடியாத சினம் தலைக்கு ஏறியது;
உலகே அஞ்சும் பெரிய அரசன் இந்த
உலகைத் துறந்த ஆண்டியிடம் வருவதா?

ஆணை இட்டார் தம் வீரர்களிடம்,
“பிணைத்தாகிலும் இந்த ஆண்டியை
அரசனிடம் அழைத்து வாருங்கள்!
பிணங்கினால் விட்டு விடுவோமா?”

சென்றது ஒரு படை வீரர் கூட்டம்,
முயன்றது அந்த வீர சன்யாசியைக்
கயிற்றில் கட்டியாவது இழுத்து வர;
முயன்று முயன்று முடிவில் தோற்றது!

என்ன ஆச்சரியம்! என்ன அதிசயம்!
எத்தனை வீரர்கள் கூடி முயன்றாலும்,
எள்ளளவேனும் நகர்த்த முடியவில்லை,
எள்ளி நகையாடும் அந்த சன்யாசியை!

“உங்கள் அரசன் மண்ணை வென்றவன்;
நானோ என் மனத்தையே வென்றவன்.
என்னை யாராலும், எங்கும், எதுவும்,
நான் விரும்பாமல் செய்ய இயலாது!”

ஆன்மீகத்தின் அரிய சக்திகளை
அனைவரும் உணர்ந்து தெளிந்தனர்.
மண் ஆளும் அரசனும் இடவேண்டும்
மண்டி, மனத்தை வென்ற ஆண்டியிடம்.

1. Pondicherry is situated SOUTH of Sing. Chennai.

2. Thiruputkuzhi, where JatAyu was cremated is near Sing. Chennai.

The conclusion in a lighter vein:
RavaNa might have lost his compass and took a round about route to Sri Lanka!! :plane:

No no! These are not late by three months.

They are early for the Tamil New year by a fortnight!

1. Let us remain awake.

2. Let us remain alert.

3. Let us be aware of things around us.

4. Let us use auspicious words, phrases and sentences.
I am sure we are not running short of them by any chance.

5. Let us get out of identity crisis.
The spiritual quest starts with this question "Who am I?"
Let not this question get transformed to "Who am I now?"
