I think we owe everything to my dear mother who is now freed from all physical limitations.
She was the jet-setter and go-getter in the family - so full of energy, intellect and tact.
She was not the type who would wait in a queue to take a dip in waters of Viraja.
She was not the type who would swim the dark, murky, fearsome waters of VaithariNi ...holding on to the tail of a male calf (with a chocolate brown velvet hide ?) and be guided by a flickering floating wick lamp.
She was the type who would hop on to the nearest beam of Sun rays and travel against gravity - upwards in the shortest and hottest path.
She was the type who would find the travel in the luminous Archiraadi maargham - at the speed of light - more appropriate and suitable for her temperament.
After all she had waited patiently for the Chitra Maasa Vishu PuNya kaalam, in Uttharaayanam and the day time of a brilliant Guru vaaram.
She must have endeared herself to God in every name, fame and form by observing total fasting on Karthigai nakshatram every month; the Soma vaara vratam, Guru vaara vratam and Sani vaara vratam - ever since I can remember.
She must have become the pet child of both Sreeman NaaraayaNa and Devi NaaraayaNi for having chanted their Sahasra naamaas over several decades.
If it is not SHE who is performing all these miraculous benevolent actions, I wonder who else it can be!
The sincere and serious priest who helped us in performing her last rites was duly impressed by the serene expression and tejas in her face ( It must have been a real rare sight for him).
He gave the five of us a sound piece of advice on the Subha Sweekaaram day.
"Whenever you need divine intervention and help, pray to your mother first before you pray to God!"
I bet he knew why he said what he said!
