The servant who sweeps and mops in my sibling's house

comes very well dressed riding a bicycle.

I bet soon she will switch over to a scooter

similar to the one her boss has!

Gone are the days when the sevants looked down trodden and

beaten up. Now they look smarter than many housewives;

dress up better than them and possess diginity and self

esteem. A tiny cell phone is tucked away in the waist and is

drawn out whenever it becomes necessary.
 
I bet the day is not far off when they will start charging per hour or

even minute as the domestic helpers and craftsmen do in U.S.A. :clock:

Now it the fixed pay for each work - be it cleaning

the huse or the vessels or the clothes!!!

The tall slim strong old woman who specilaises in bathing

the elders and young infants has becoem the night time nurse

for a sweet sweet sweet old woman.

She charges a megre 3000 Rs per month.

May be she is unaware of her own powers like Hanumanji!
 
We had a servant 55 years ago who would work all day long.

She would do all the three main cleaning chores

plus give oil bath to the four girls in the family;

plus grind the dough for idli in the classic grinding stone.

She was paid seven rupees a month for her work and

was so very happy and contented!!!

Those were the days when good hearted doctors like my dad

used to treat for two rupees and give injection for five rupees-

spending for the medicines and injections from their own

pockets and storing them.

The patients never had to go to a medical shop for anything

including plasters, cotton and bandages.

I was actually dozing and typing!!! :sleep:

Somehow I never seem to get enough sleep
...servant or no servant. :(

Or may be it was due to the Tuesday's oil bath
or my be due to the early morning yoga resumed
or the combined effect of all these put together!

Hats off to you for attending to Amma's needs
9 to 10 hours day and night and still
managing you chores, classes and the forum! :clap2:

Once while going for a picnic we had taken drinking water

in a champaigne bottle from my elder son's house.

Only when I saw the photo I wondered how many people must have wondred

to see an Indian lady with a champagne bottle on her picnic dining table! :spit:

சொல் உன் வல்லமை எது என்று என்னிடம்!”

“அக்னி தேவன் ஆவேன் நான் என்று அறிவாய்!
ஜாதேவேதன் என்று எனக்கு இன்னொரு பெயர்!

எரிக்க வல்லவன் நான் எந்தப் பொருளையும்;
எடுத்துள்ளேன் அனலன் என்ற பட்டப் பெயர்!”

துரும்பைக் கிள்ளி எறிந்தது அந்த யக்ஷ உருவம்;
“எரித்துக் காட்டு இதை எனக்கு!” என்றது உருவம்.

முயன்றான் அக்னி தேவன் அதைச் சுட்டெரிக்க;
முடியவில்லை எத்தனை முறை முயன்றாலும்!

நாணித் தலை குனிந்தான் அக்னி தேவன் – உடனே
காணாமல் போய்விட்டான் அந்த இடத்திலிருந்து.

அனுப்பினர் தேவர்கள் வாயு தேவனை அடுத்ததாக;
வினவினான் இவனும் ஆணவத்தோடு “யார் நீ?”

“சொல் முதலில் நீ யார் என்பதை என்னிடம்!
சொல் உன் வல்லமை எது என்று என்னிடம்!”

“வாயுதேவன் ஆவேன் நான் என்று அறிவாய்!
வாரி வீச வல்லவன் நான் எந்தப் பொருளையும்.”

துரும்பைக் கிள்ளி எறிந்தது அந்த யக்ஷ உருவம்;
“வாரி வீசிக் காட்டு இதை உன் வல்லமையால்!” என

முயன்றான் வாயு தேவன் அதைச் சுழற்றி வீசி விட;
முடியவில்லை எத்தனை முறை முயன்ற போதும்!

நாணித் தலை குனித்தான் வாயு தேவன் – உடனே
காணாமல் போய்விட்டான் அந்த இடத்திலிருந்து.

தேவர்கள் கூறினர் இந்திரனிடம் ஒருபோல;
“தேவர்களின் அதிபதி நீரே அறிந்து வாரும்!”

துரத்த முயன்றான் இந்திரன் யக்ஷ உருவத்தை
விரைந்து ஓடிப் போகவில்லை யக்ஷ உருவம்;

பாய்ந்து வந்தது இந்திரனை நோக்கி வேகமாக;
மாய்ந்து போனது காற்றோடு காற்றாக நொடியில்!

மமதை மறைந்து போனது இந்திரன் மனத்தில்;
‘மதிக்கவில்லை என்னை ஒரு பொருட்டாகவே!

திருப்பி அனுப்பியது உருவம் அக்னி தேவனை;
திருப்பி அனுப்பியது உருவம் வாயு தேவனை.

பேசவுமில்லை மதிக்கவுமில்லை என்னை;
பேசாமல் மறைந்து விடுகிறேன் இங்கிருந்து!

மானம் பெரிதா அல்லது உயிர் பெரிதா எனக்கு?’
மனம் ஓடிந்ததால் சரண் புகுந்தான் யக்ஷனிடம்.

“மாயா பீஜ மந்திரத்தை ஜபித்துவா இந்திரா!”
மாயக் குரல் ஒலித்தது விண்ணிலிருந்து !

தியானம் செய்தான் ஒரு லக்ஷம் ஆண்டுகள்
தியாகம் செய்தான் அன்ன, பான, நித்திரையை.

தோன்றியது பேரொளி மீண்டும் அந்த இடத்தில்
நண்பகலில், சித்திரை மாதத்தில், நவமி திதியில்.
