Think or sink!

Yesterday was my lucky day.

I won three prices in the raffle draw.

One is a book worth 10$ on new quotes

for A to Z called A for activist.

It is a gift to Juju and Varun.

May be I can reproduce those quotes - if it is not illegal or unlawful.

The other was a coffee mug worth 15$ in black with a huge red star on it.

It has become the favorite of my husband already.

I got a lovely hand made big purse in imitation snake skin in maroon coclor.

My son and D.I.L were amazed by our good luck.

So we blew 5$ and earned gifts worth 50$!!!

I myself NEVER knew that I was so lucky!!!

During our earlier visit, I had broken one of my molar teeth by eating a pizza.

I had promised my dentist that I will not eat any adventurous dishes and

have ever since been refusing even to test or taste a slice of pizza. :nono:

But yesterday the pizzas was velvet soft and with varied topping.

So every one including me took a dive in the pizza boxes.

The vegan pizza was better with sun roasted tomato topping

giving a nice deep color, smell and a tangy taste.

People kept going for more and more slices until the Get-to-gather finished.

There were chilled fruit juice, water and fruits. Ice creams and hard drinks were available on payment.

There was music, fun and frolic. Children danced on the central lawn with gay abandon.

Elders rubbed shoulders and indulged in chit chats.

The balloon man was the best in the crowd.

He had magic in his hands and balloons on his belt.

He could make anything with that tubular blloon

before you can say what you want.

Most chldren prefered swords and

went around hacking each their with those.

Effect of violent video games???

Juju and Varun settled for pink and blue Pekingese and

were walking around hugging them.

I am glad I went with them instead of siting at home alone

and punching the keys for he next post of poems!

I made new friends and got a few admirers!!! :thumb:

I met a boy who was very muck like Tejas and wore Indian kurta.

His dad was an American and I commented to him,

"Your son looks very very Indian!"

I was right! His mother is a pretty Indian lady from Gujarat.

They were so proud of their spouse's nationality.

I found a lady with her husband - sharing pecks on the checks, neck and lips.

I was shocked when I saw that while the lady had a perfect right hand

her left hand was not fully formed.

It hung till her waist and there was neither a palm nor the fingers.

It was more like the flipper of a penguin.

She wore a sleeveless dress and made no efforts to hide it.

No one seemed to mind it or stare at her making her feel self conscious.

She had an infant which looked like a cherub.

I bet, a girl like this could not have found a husband - if she were born in India! :(

One of the prizes was a huge ceramic jar with a tight fitting lid -

ideal for preparing vadu maangai's supply for one year!

Both me and my husband remembered the jar In the movie

PattaNathil bootham and were really amused. :)

The we discussed what to with the jar if we win it!

Luckily someone else won it.

The grandma and her son looked like American Indians

and the wife of the man was an African Indian.

We saw the homeless people stretched in various pastures

and relaxing on the side of a wide road downtown.

I am sure there will be an interesting story in each one's life. :blabla:

They seemed more jobless than homeless. :bored:

In a land where even students CAN earn enough

to support and educate themselves!!!

There was a man who could be the real life Kamal Hasan.
He played guitar, mandolin and mouth organ and
made each of them sound like another instrument!
I would have sworn it was electric guitar
if I had closed my eyes while listening
but he was playing a mouthorgan.
He sang well too in various tones,
tempos and pitches and styles! WOW!!!
