An egg a day may keep diabetes away
London, Jan 4 (IANS) Eating an egg daily can have a beneficial effect on the blood metabolite profile that is related to a lower risk of Type-2 diabetes, a new study shows. The findings showed that the blood samples of men who ate more eggs included certain lipid molecules that positively correlated with the blood profile of men who remained free of Type-2 diabetes.

    Knifeman goes on Sydney bumper car rampage before killing himself
    An Australian man rammed his four-wheel drive into a Sydney police car, hijacked a supermarket delivery truck and taxi, rammed other cars and stabbed and wounded a passerby before killing himself in front of police on Friday. The dramatic chain of events, which police said was not terror-related, began when police tried to pull over the four-wheel drive for not displaying licence plates. The driver rammed the police car, dumped the four-wheel frive and hijacked a supermarket delivery truck about 7 km away, then continued across town for another 20 km to a suburb near the airport, hitting several cars along the way

    Quadrantid meteor shower: When will this happen and how can we see them?
    One of the lesser known meteor showers, known as the Quadrantids, will be viewable from Earth as the new year begins. The Quadrantids owe their name to a now defunct constellation called Quadrans Muralis, which the meteor shower appears to emanate from in the sky. When the International Astronomical Union drew up a list of constellations in 1922 they decided to leave out Quadrans Muralis, but the shower’s name stuck.

Or who danced with whom, why, how, when and where.

The stinking rich can become less stinking and less suffocating by doing more good to their less fortunate neighbors and their employees.

Married at age of 10 months, Urma ends shackles of child marriage
Jodhpur, Jan 5 (IANS) After suffering for 18 long years after being married off at a tender age of 10 months, 19-year-old Urma Bishnoi has finally ended the shackles of child marriage. Urma, who is from Kaparda village in Jodhpur, was married off to a boy from the same village in 1999 when she was just 10 month old. After Urma became an adult, she refused to accept the child marriage.
