The below map, which comes from An Atlas of Economic Geography, published in 1914, was created by John Bartholomew, a descendant of an Edinburgh map-making family.


Starting in Europe in the dark-pink section, it details how long you can expect your journey to another location to be: up to five days if your destination is within the dark pink area, up to 10 days as you head into the light pink section, up to 20 days for destinations in orange. Green, light blue and mid blue are 30, 40 and over 40 days respectively.

i heard this news abt dubai to panama city....while i was travelling from US to chennai by emirates....even i surprised to

know the viability of the flight in the long run....now Emirates crossed barrier than BA....London was hub for world cities...

not anymore dubai is the hub....from dubai we can travel anywhere in world by Emirates...

I fully agree. Dubai is becoming a very important terminal for journey to any part of the world.

I travelled to Chicago from Dubai by Emirates - non stop. Even though the seat was a bit uncomfortable in size, the journey was good and the crew were really courteous. When it was informed that the passenger is a vegetarian, they remembered it throughout the journey, while serving any food / beverage. A nice experience.

more than 15 yrs travelling by BA to india..last year i travelled by Emirates from WASHINGTON DC TO CHENNAI VIA DYBAI...

i enjoyed the trip/price....very cheap....better services....even this year i already booked the ticket to india by EMIRATES...

Well some people claim that Emirates and Etihad are successful because of the presence of somewhat illegal state subsidies. Wonder what will happen if the coffers of UAE dwindles.

even i heard this....still oil is cheaper than water in UAE....even every air india gets subsidy...still its not cheaper..
