It is highly condemnable one that all our temples are becoming as business plazas.No peaceful dharshans in our temples.There are so many noises .In archana times We cannot hear ashtothra mandhrams

There are

[2] stalls
[3] chappal stand
[4] vehicle stand
[5] begger's corner

Here dharshans are divided in to three too four types
[1] VVIP dharshan
[2] VIP dharsha
[3] millionare's dharshan
[4] Layman dharshan
Tickets for having dharshan is great menace in our temples
Poor and local devotees cannot have a dharshan in auspicious days
tender is in the hands of rowdy elements
if we say the entire temple is under his control.
HR & CE is taking care only on collections from hundis and ticket sales
Poor administration and poor remuneration to Vedic Gurukkals

All lovers using our temples as their park to their romantic plays and also for their indecent proposals
poor sanitation in temple environment
Money Money money is only god in the safety locker
Shall we change ? shall we correct the present happenings
otherwise we will have search places for our ANMA LAYAM

We don't have any control except informing the concerned authorities. Please write to the concerned Executive Officer/Asst.Commissioner and also to the Chief Commissioner of HRCE, Chennai.

Unfortunately HRCE has withdrawn their websites and we cannot send emails.

Saktheee 2008 youR100% correct. All most all temples started Ticket sales, on 8th of this month I have visited along with relatives to THANDONIMALAI at Karur. I have seen a Board saying 3pm to 5pm only paid Darshans rs 2, rs5 only. In auspicious days rs 25/-. Just quote At Tirupathi Venkatjalpathi listen more than Cores of JARUKANDI than other Holy Manthirams. s.r.k.

yes. it really pains to see such state of affairs. when i visited temples in and around kumbakonam, it was quite sad to see gurukkals struggling to meet ends and left to fend for their own. They should be really appreciated for continuing to do the daily routine poojas in spite of these problems.

Due to the environmental/economic factors today many of the temples in smaller towns do not have a priest to do even oru kala puja. already we have lost so many temples due to our negligence. Let us come forward to help these dutiful Priest so that we do not lose more and more temples

I'm from the west, earn in the west, and wasn't used to the long lines, (especially Palani, and it was New Year's) I was so happy to find the R200 line. I seriously doubt that my western adjusted body could have handled the regular free line. Even the R200 one was 45 minutes. An archana at my home temple in Canada is $5 (R200) but there is only one fee. Our temple is cheap by North American standards. I gladly gave a further R1000 to the Hundi. For me it was probably a once in a lifetime experience. So one solution would be to have westerners helping out more. Another on the spot one would be to have sponsors paying for other people. My R1000 would have sent 500 people through the R2 line.

The expats should help out more.

Who is responsible for such things? Nodoubt! we ourselves. To avoid in standing q's we are searching for the otherway! why dont we wait and see as we are going to temple for our prayers? How many persons using mobile phones at the temple- if their business/family is much more important than their praying time,let them not come to the temple.
In one temple in chennai, I have seen the main enterance was closed due to some repair work in the doorstep. I immediately told the templewallahs to open the door and keep some wooden piece to prevent entereing in that way and put a notice board to use the other way.
So, LET US NOT USE THE OTHERWAY FOR OUR DARSHAN - automatically all problems solved.

absolutely right. Except temples at Kerala almost all tamil nadu temples have become places of time pass for many. Full of noise. No silence and sanctity. Even geniune devotees who wants to go and pray silently are not able to.Even riests take care of debotees!!! who offer dakshina. The care is more with more dakshina and vice vera. People littering all kinds od pooja waste here and there and lighting camphor.

To pray good and peaceful dharshan, please go to the road end 'PILLAYAR' temple. I am having an experience. In our locality, myself and three other friends had constructed a temple where dharshan can be peceful, delightful and the 'ARCHAKAR'
who is so fine in 'alankarams' and 'archanas'. But the pity is, on 1st January of this year, all about 100 people went to 'Vadapalani Temple - Chennai' and stood in queue,cursed the temple. Bur alas, only 25 people were there in our temple, which is big enough to offer the dharshan of 'Lord Siva and Goddes Kamatshi' for about 100 people minimum. Sir for heaven's sake we should discard those temples which are politisized. Have dharshan of 'LORD VISHNU' in local temple than going to Thirupathi. Give that money to keep the local temple nicely - Pranams

Sorry sir,please don't joke about the short of funds for 'PALANI',THIRUPATHI ETC. In my please at Tirunelveli, you can have free dharshan within 30 mts maximum time - 'LORD NELLAIYAPPAR' AND DEVI KANTHIMATHI' - In morning upto 8am you can just walk in to have dharshan. Pl. visit temples where you can walk straight - not to Tirupathi and Palani where you have to wait for days please. - Pranams

Better avoid commercial temples. Still there are lot of temples where sanctity is maintained and are free from commercialisation. Let us promote such temples instead of blaming commercial temples

Very true; the government takeover has done nothing. Moreover, as the public, we also should put in efforts. First delink the temple from government management. Then all families in that area should volunteer to do physical work at the temple. This would ensure group interest not just in emptying our woes to the deity, but also a sense of belongingness to a place of sanctity, which in turn ensures respect.

I sent a mail to them so that I could contribute, but no response. Pity. Kanchi is definitely a great mutt, but we should become involved in the activities of the temple rather than just donating money.

Noble thoughts indeed! The money donated to the hundi is not shared by the priests, but goes to the govt fund, which is of course mismanaged. But that is to be expected. Perhaps, if I may suggest, it could be a better way to give something directly to the priests as it would ensure their well-being.

There are two sides to a coin. When the number of devotees come in like a deluge, on a daily basis, there has to be some sort of regulation. Money is the easiest. Is there any other that could be operated smoothly?

When it comes to restricting/moderating admission based on money is against spirituality. It leads to the stratification of devotees, makes them divided in to haves and have nots, which is a shame.

I agree with Sri Venkataramani Ji on this one.

If temples want to regulate the inflow, they have other options: 1) first come, first served, with a fixed number admitted 2) an advanced reservation system with the same first come, first served principle, instead of a queue system 3) drawing from a pool indiscriminately to admit a certain number 4) admit first people with special needs (though this may take some work. I am sure there are many more than discriminating over the crassest of all things, money to be the basis for temple admission!

Commercial temples are temples taken over and administered by govt only to get booty from temples for politics. We can call temples as commercial where you want to have dharshan overlooking other people by showing your money power. Sir, please understand that ATMA is to wait till it is fit to be released by the Almighty! Why we can't wait in queue to have dharshan ? Beyond that what u you have in life. Sir, from Chennai Central please take a train to Tirunelveli (Tirunelveli District) Tamilnadu. The train will stop at Tirunelveli Junction. Please visit the temple before 8 AM every day, you will enjoy and say there there is no GOD Except LORD NELLAIYAPPAR AND MOTHER KANTHIMATHI. It will take atleast 1.5 hours to 2 hours to complete the dharshan of all Deities. I pray that you have the chance of showered by the love of MOTHER KANTHIMATHI AND LORD NELLAIYAPPAR.

The temple is named 'KAMATSHI AMBAL UDANURAI ARULMIGU CHANDRA MOULISWARAR TEMPLE AT VGP Vimala Nagar, Medavakkam Chennai . The archagar is Shri Nataraja Sivam and the temple is managed by MR. Balasubramaniam. The temple is on the Velachery Road to Tambaram . 0.4 km from medavakkam bus stand towards tambaram. Every one will guide u.

Practically there is no commercialisation in Kerala temples. Sabarimala and Guruvayur attracts crowds but they are not charging for the Darshan. Everybody is going through the Q system with exceptions only for aged.

Personally I feel both Guruvayurappan and Venkatachalapathi are same. Both are Maha Vishnu temples only.

Money collection for Dharsan is prevalent only in Andhra which has percolated to some Tamilnadu temples. Instead, let us follow Kerala example.

Like Kollur Mokambika temple get fame after MGR's visit to the Temple like other Temples in Karnataka, those Govt's give top priority to Temples upliftment, what about TN an anti Hindu Govt how can we Justify and in Kerala every thing with rules framed by the govt and Unions,incl temples and the Male santhi and other staffs get fixed income. s.r.k

i studied my primary education from pallasena., palakkad..i know
meenkolathi amman temple..which is kuladeivam for
my mother's side family...Kerala systems are entirely different..
temple has rules to be followed..even namboothiris are
very strict in rules....only basically andhara/tamil nadu
are different scenario...
