I would like to thank everyone for their replies. I know much more now.

Narasimhan sir, Vgane's reply was to my question.

I have another question. As a guy what should I address my Athai's son as ? Now I know that its Athan but isnt that how ladies call their husbands ?

Engattukarar, ambadaiyan are still used by old timers...

But nowadays we hear Suresh, Ravi, Hari being used freely by the upper echelons!
Dear Sir,

'engAththukkAr(a)r' and 'AmbadaiyAn' are to refer to the husband, whereas calling him is 'EnnA'!

Now, Sing. Chennai mAmis usually refer to the husband as 'engAththu mAmA'! :)

And some girls add 'dEy' as prefix. It seems to show the abundance of  !?!
