Eminent lawyer and former Union law minister Ram Boolchand Jethmalani passed away early on Sunday morning in his residence in New Delhi. He was 95. (four days before his 96th Birthday on 14 Sept 2019).
Born in Shikarpur, Sindh, Sri Jethmalani had a brilliant academic record. He completed matriculation at the age of 13. and secured LL.B. degree from Bombay University with a first class first at the young age of 17. got a special exception, resulting from an application that he made to the court contesting the rule regarding minimum age of 21, and allowed him to become a lawyer at 18. He received LL.M. from Bombay University .
Sri Jathmalani has handled many controversial Criminal Cases. As the Attorney General K.K.Venugolal said "Jethmalani was a very outspoken person and did not mince words even against the judiciary."
In passing away of Sri Ram Jethmalani, the Country has lost one of the brilliant Criminal Lawyers and Constitution experts.
His son Mahesh Jethmalani is also a Senior Advocate and a BJP member.
