The Sri Ram Sene on Tuesday warned that it would cut off the tongues of those writers who insult Hindu gods.
According to a report in India Today, the Sene's Karnataka state convener Siddalinga Swami has threatened to cut off the tongues of writers if they continue to "insult" Hindu Gods.
Swami allegedly told reporters in North Karnataka that 'Hindus were offended' by the writings of KS Bhagwan and Chandrashekhar Patil, who have allegedly spoken ill of Hindu epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
"The epics are followed by millions of Hindus as sacred texts. People will not tolerate the belittling of Ramayana characters, who are worshipped. They will cut off the tongues of writers if they do not stop insulting Hindu gods," he said to India Today.
Recently, in an interview to a Kannada TV channel, KS Bhagwan had said that Rama and Krishna should not be worshipped because they did not uphold human values. His statements were viewed negatively by Hindu right-wing extremists who threatened to kill him.
On Monday, Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik had said that he would sue Kannada writers for alleging that the Sene was behind the murder of rationalist and writer MM Kalburgi.
However, he had added that the Sene would not indulge in such attacks at all. Speaking to The Hindu, he said it was not correct to threaten the writers. "Instead of talking about staging a dharna in front of the writers’ houses, our members wrongly said their houses would be destroyed. When I came to know about it, I immediately told them to withdraw their statements and furnish letters clarifying what they actually meant and they did it."
It now remains to be seen what stand Muthalik takes on Siddalinga Swami's remarks.
Following the deaths of Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar and MM Kalburgi, threats had been issued to KS Bhagwan and journalist Nikhil Wagle.
The Sri Ram Sene first came into prominence for attacking women at a pub in Mangalore in January 2009. Their actions led to widespread condemnation and a ban on the Sene in Goa.

Does these Ixxxts even know Hinduism?
I am pretty sure the Hindutva brigade on this site can not hide the smirk on their faces.
