'Pseudo' Secularism

Moderate muslims must speak up!

This came to me by email:
THE FOLLOWING IS A "MUST READ."
A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.
"Very few people were true Nazis "he said," but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools.
So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come.
My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories."
We are told again and again by "experts" and "talking heads" that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace.
Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.
The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the [FONT=Formal436
BT]fanatics
who bomb, behead, murder, or honor kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals.

The hard quantifiable fact is that the "peaceful majority" the "silent majority" is cowed and extraneous.
Communist Russia comprised Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people The peaceful majority were irrelevant.
China's huge population, it was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.
The average Japanese individual prior to World War 2 was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the Systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel and bayonet.
And, who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were "peace loving"?
History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:
Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy by perception if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awake one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.
Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.
As for us who watch it all unfold; we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life.
Lastly, at the risk of offending, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, can contribute to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand.
So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on!! Let us hope that thousands, world wide, read this - think about it - and send it on.

I saw the following letter to the editor of a Chennai Daily. A Muslim minister from the Muslim leage is standing up for his muslim brotheren. This is their proactivism. The writes loathes the secularist Hindu politicians hoodwink the Hindus to get their votes and then stab them in their back. That is what comes out of aping western secularism.

Sir,
While Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had sleepless nights on the plight of UK terror suspects' relations, the actions of the Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed, who is from Muslim League, is going to add to the woes of PIOs and Indians travelling abroad.

In the most brazen communal, bizarre and irresponsible action, Ahamed went to the house and met the wife and relations of Australian terror suspect Mohammed Haneef in Bangalore. He has promised legal assistance and other assistance to the terror suspect.

This government, which is not bothered about the large numbers of POWs and fishermen languishing in Pakistani jails for more than decades, is more concerned about the jihadi Islamic terror suspect in Australia.
Are these facilities available to Haneef available to all those involved in illegal activities abroad? Has this become a government ruled by the Muslim League? Are these rulers/politicians worried about the victims of Islamic terrorist acts? How many guilty have been punished?

Under any functioning prosecution and judiciary, Ahamed of Kerala would have been in jail for protecting and abetting, in some cases, criminal activities such as Muslim communal riots leading to massacres of Hindus (Marad), fake certificates, note printing, illegal stamp papers, hawala activities and so on. This ever-expanding list of criminal activities some Kerala Muslims indulge can be a huge one. Also, all non-Muslims have to make sure that they do not support Islamic terrorist actions and other illegal activities overtly or covertly. Otherwise, the backlash against us will be heavy and punishing. Most are already observing this trend after 11 September attack in the US. Failure to clearly distance from Islamic terrorism will make the situation worse!
Krishna R Kumar, Udupi

Dear Sri Amoorkan:
I am mad as hell. Why is everybody bending backwards to help out this guy, Haneef. I believe he has been charged under the terrorism act. Why is he so special? What is the real story here?
Can you tell me which newspaper published this letter? I doubt it is HINDU!! -- the cutodian of the pseudo secularism!!

Government to pay for yet another mohamedan's family

After our "Clean PM" asked Australia to treat Haneef nicely.. oops.. fairly (of course, because Haneef is a mohamedan), there is another case of the government using tax payer money to help another mohemaden family! Of course, nothing wrong with it(government should help every citizen, regardless of religion), but then would the case have been the same if a Hindu is involved ?? Why the double-standards? Why is the government coming to the rescue of almost every mohemadan caught or dead in foreign countries, while it has never done that for a Hindu (unless he/she is a Hindu only in name, ie a pseudo-secular). And no prizes for guessing, Madhu Koda , the CM of Jharkhand, is an independent supported by UPA.

Meanwhile, in Pune, police had to resort to a lathi-charge after some hundreds of mohamedans started stone-throwing after the municipal corporation demolished a dargah, right in the middle of the road. First of all, they grab land illegally and build a dargah with some green cloth over some stone slab (and they say they are not idol-worshippers.. LOLzz ). Then they are given free land to shift the dargah, about 12 years ago. They keep the land but dont shift the dargah. When the municipal authorities demolish the mosque, they indulge in violence, etc so predictably and so on. I do recall that place, I have been there. The dargah is bang in the middle of the road, and is a major traffic hindrance.
http://cities.expressindia.com/fullstory.php?newsid=247769
I wont be surprised if the government announces compensation worth lacs of rupees, and builds the dargah at the other site with public funds !!
This reminds me of an incident which happened in Mumbai, when I was there. The BMC(the Municipal Corporation of Mumbai.. its still called BMC) was on a illegal places of worship demolition drive. In Mulund, they demolished a small Hindu temple, but left alone a large mosque intact, just a few meters away. The larger mosque was much more of a hindrance, but still left intact, so as to "not hurt minority sentiments" or fear of minority (read mohemadan) violence. How long are we supposed to live in fear of islamic violence and terrorism. And how much should we be shortchanged in the name of minority welfare and secularism. How much of our decisions be based on "hurt minority sentiments" and fear of islamic reaction? Well, even our spineless PM is afraid of expressing condolences for the Mumbai train blast victims, lest it offends the mohemadans :)

Missing foreigners in Karnataka

This came in an email to me. I didn't understand the heading - "Missing foreigners in Karnataka".
______________________________________________________________________
I do not know if he is guilty or not, but he has made lot of money - the TV Interview to Channel 9 followed by suing the Government of Australia for a large sum! I do not mind this kind of arrest and release so long the PM loses sleep over a Hindu being arrested some where in the world!
Of course, now he can say that he was correct in losing his night's sleep!

Please read TJS George's column in Today's New Indian Express reproduced below (Sorry, I could not get the link in the e mail version of this paper):

W HEN the world was straight and sim- ple, the term WYSIWYG became a
slo- gan of mankind. What You See Is What You Get. Today the world has gone topsy-turvy. What we see is not what we get. What we get is not what we hear. Nothing is what it seems. All is deception. For example, our Prime Minister says he has been losing sleep over the delay in the release of Mohammed Haneef, the former terrorism sus- pect in Australia.
Our just-retired President says India must "have a long-term vision" and become "one of the best places to live in". And our brand new President says "we must fight divi- siveness". Unexceptionable words. But how detached from the everyday reality of India they sound. Our reality is wayward, hypocritical. Even our good leaders are trapped by it. Any Indian caught in a legal-criminal tangle in a foreign country must of course get the attention of our Prime Minister. But so do babies who are systematically aborted in Orissa's Nayagarh village with their tiny body parts dumped in garbage pits. So do the young girls raped and killed in Noida, their mutilated limbs thrown into the gutter. So do the pedestri- ans killed by VIP drivers who then bribe wit- nesses and police officers to hush up the cases. So indeed do citizens who continue to be tor- tured to death in police lock-ups. Yet, we haven't heard Manmohan Singh say that he has lost a night's sleep over these atrocities that mar our very civilisation. He is proud, and justifiably, about India's rise as an economic behemoth with a growth rate that's enviable by any standard.
But what does economic growth mean when 220 million peo- ple (almost the size of America's population) are below poverty level and live in abject misery in the slums of India? Kalam, honourable and admired, asks
parlia- mentarians to make India a great place to live in. Yet, he knows that not one MP or minister will lift a finger to eliminate the slums that mock at us, and the filth and the excrement and the degrading squalor that is life for most of our population. Have 'a long-term vision'? The longest term a politician can envision is till the next election. As Kalam spoke, the TV cam- era focused on some netas - Sonia Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Laloo Prasad, L.K. Advani, Sonia Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Did any one of us notice any long-term vision on any one of those faces? What this viewer noticed was boredom at the irrelevancies they were hearing. The ultimate irony was when the new President made her maiden speech and exhort- ed all citizens to "fight divisiveness".
Could it be that she finally realised that this presidential campaign was the most divisive in history? Her political handlers will keep up the divisiveness because they need it to secure their control on the levers of power in the days ahead. Under these politicians we will remain a land of fake encounters, lockup deaths, infanticide, rape-killings, witness-buying and all-encom- passing, all-destroying, all-consuming corrup- tion. We will become an uncivilised civilization.
But we will have the highest growth rate, so it won't matter if there is some lost sleep over some lost sheep. .

Regards

Sri

7/25/2007 3:02:10 PM Dr. Babu Suseelan

As a people, Hindus are indoctrinated to be passive, tolerant, fair-minded,subdued, pluralistic and spiritual, As Hindus, we pride ourselves on our acceptance of pacifism, religious tolerance, Sarva Dharma Samabhava,Vasudeiva Kudumbakham and the concept “all religions are the same”.

It is our central laboratory, the primary testing ground for much of what we call reality. As the reality of the outside world has become increasingly complex and hostile to Hindus, we are still fascinated with the unreality of illusion, denial, avoidance, apathy, unrealistic expectations, irrational defense mechanism, pacifism, tolerance, and political correction, that is virtually psychopathic.

The Hindu leaders are proud of their unhealthy fascination with pacifism, appeasement and avoidance and they are pleased to hide behind a thick wall of denial. They refused to admit dangers posed by enemies from within and without. The ultra intolerant Islamofascists, Communists, missionary soul snatchers and subversive agents are posing a real threat for the survival of Hindus. They trash at us for our naiveté, pacifism, tolerance and pluralistic values. Our children are indoctrinated with the pseudo-secular-communist credos from crib to college. They are conditioned that anti-Hindu leaders must triumph our Hindutva.

The biggest threats facing Hindus are the rise of Jihadi terrorism and coercive religious conversion. Our secular leaders encourage tolerance for Jihadis precisely at the same time many Imams from the “religion of peace” were assailing Hindu infidels.

From Kerala to Kashmir extreme Hindu hatred has grown disturbingly pervasive. The press has a morbid fascination for Hindu hatred. Hindus are marked by an off-the charts level of venom, a scandalous parade of mistaken assumptions, an endless font of suspicion, mistrust and the promulgation of outright, wilful lies. The viciousness of commentary of Hindus is breathtaking.

The venomous left, the intellectual mafia, jihadi terrorists, the conversion gang and the pseudo secularists have ratcheted up their attacks upon the fabric of society unlike anything in the past. Like the pit vipers that they are, they’re injecting their poison into the backbone of Hindu society.

For centuries, Christian missionaries have tripped over one another to convert Hindus-they are still running the show in India. It is about power, dominance, and intolerance. The evangelists do not stop with religious conversion, however. They are increasingly involved in politics, subversive activities with potentially catastrophic consequences in areas at risk.

The crisis Hindus face is so severe and Hindus must think the unthinkable and move beyond the kind of traditional denial, appeasement, tolerance, apathy, indifference and appeasement policy that has failed us miserably up to now in our battle against organized fanatic and fundamentalist groups with totalitarian, rigid and closed systems and divisive ideologies.

For too long Hindus have lived in a cage where Sarva Dharma Bhava, pacifism, and tolerance are expressed. Hindu tolerance of intolerance is actually a reflection of our loss of clarity, our tolerance of virtually everything and our “anything goes” attitude is not a mark of healthy tolerance, it’s a mark of the degradation of our ability to judge anything.

How this can occur in otherwise well-educated and intelligent people? This can only be understood through analyzing our mental aberrations. Criticism of parochial, fanatic, totalitarian and divisive ideologies of Islam, Christianity and Communism is anathema for Hindus. Such evasion, denial and avoidance would erode our liberties and jeopardize our hard-won freedom. Given the growing concerns, it is time for Hindus to re-evaluate the balance between Sarva Dharma Sama Bhava and the collective security of our country, our culture and our freedom. As more clear thinking Hindus embrace the savage truth about this disorder of denial, irrational tolerance, apathy, appeasement and indifference, we may see the complete demise of denial, the failed ideals of tolerance and appeasement finally assigned to history’s dustbin.

Hindus are reminded of the words of George Orwell “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.” It is time for Hindus to come out of the sleep, break the wall of denial, and awaken to the reality that our country is being compromised from without and within. Can India be saved? Can Hindus be freed from the mental slavery? If we fail to act and pursue a strong, assertive Hindutva, we will fail to exist as a cultural entity.

A few of the impediments standing in the way for a new Hindutva include the inherent inability to confront our enemies. Our good intentions and noble ideologies of tolerance and appeasement are not good enough. The pseudo secular political leaders and intellectual mafia are out of touch with reality, out of touch with the heart and soul of the Hindus. By refusing to admit and fight against fanatic, totalitarian and dangerous ideologies, our political leaders nourish and encourage it. Indeed, the greatest threat to Hindus today is the political secularism-and selfish opportunism of the political parties. They are ideologically inclined toward appeasement, toward dismissing or understating threats.

The lessons of history are clear: we cannot hide behind a wall of denial, we cannot negotiate with destructive, fanatic ideologies, we cannot sweet-talk it. We cannot compromise with it. We can only defeat it, or it will defeat us. But blurring the lines of good and evil, spiritual culture and fanatic ideology, our secular leaders have rendered our society more vulnerable to evil influence of Jihadi terrorists, missionary soul snatchers and Communist trouble makers.

Hindus are increasingly ill equipped to recognize, much less respond to,evil forces that threaten us. The anti Hindu intellectual mafia has become the “gate keepers” of Hindu minds. Their ideology of appeasement and political corrections, and bogus secularism has corrupted our ideology, language and thought. They have overhauled our ideas, language, words and phrases that hinder Hindus in dealing with reality. Ordinary Hindus, however, are largely indifferent to, or ignorant of, this intellectual tendency that threaten the very survival of Hindus. For secular politicians, political corrections is a way of avoiding, ignoring or acknowledging real issues that threatens the very survival of Hindus. Mindless universalism, pacifism, denial, avoidance, phony secularism and political corrections have completely changed thinking of Hindus and emasculated Hindu language and manners, and have reduced us incapable of any collective action against hostile groups and their fanatic ideologies. If Hindus may not or will not notice the negative-hostile characteristics of our enemies, their rigid ideologies or evil intention, then how could Hindus defend themselves from hostile groups?
(contd.)

Shanti Comes From Shakti

Hindus must realize that all faith systems, ideologies or lifestyle are not equal. Our “Sarva Dharma Bhava”, pacifism, denial, apathy and mindless tolerance has a deep flaw, which probably renders pacifist Hindu mindset unstable. The fundamental flaw is that the concept “all religions are the same”, “Sarva Dharma Same Bhava” is premised on falsehoods about human nature and divisive, closed, totalitarian faiths that promote hostility and conflict. One should not entertain the idea that “all religions are the same” when there is something terribly sick in dogmatic ideologies that permanently divide people and determined to vanquish or exterminate unbelievers. The dogmatic and morally aberrant ideologies have the infinite capacity to inflict harm to Hindu society.

Hindus must do all that they can to survive. India needs Hindus. The world need the universal philosophy of Hinduism. Hindus are living proof that the dark forces of dogmatic faiths and totalitarian ideologies didn’t win. Our history has taught us that if we stand together as a people, we will not die but live. We need a message of unity and strength. Our history also teaches that physical survival is not enough. Hindus need to be proactive with the manner at which we achieve the desired outcomes. Our defences should not hamper our offensive abilities. We must be on the offensive regardless of world opinion. If we continue to tolerate on a belief that we can achieve peace , harmony and coexistence with rigid, hostile ideologies and fundamentalist faiths, we will not achieve anything.

The best way for Hindus to achieve peace and tranquillity in this dangerous world is to remain strong. Who desires peace and liberty should be strong and must be willing to fight for the noble cause. To be prepared for fight is one of the effective means of preserving freedom, peace and progress. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be strong enough to repel it, if we desire to secure our sacred heritage and freedom, we must always be strong and be vigilant against hostile groups and even willing to fight against intolerant groups. As Horace says “ In peace, as a wise man, he should makesuitable preparation for war”. Always remember “Shanti Comes From Shakti”.

Folks,

The article above and most of the others talk about the problem. It is quite obvious to the majority of folks reading these pages, or the other internet sites that the unhealthy combine of Jihadism, Marxist/Leftist sponsored 'pseudo secularism', the push of fundamental Christians to convert with the backing of huge dollars, the open call for 'harvesting of souls' by the powerful head of Catholicism, the intentional portraying of Hinduism as a 'Pagan' religion abroad as well as in India by some vested interests, which include some members of some other religions (you know who) as well as the wrong headed mafia of certain political parties, who in the guise of helping the downtrodden are actually in the path of the Nation's progress by heeding to the failed policies of Communism and Socialism of yester years, the rigid religion of Islam, which thinks that It has the absolute Truth and considers anyone who does not hew to it's ideology as less than human (to understand what I am saying one should go to YouTube and watch all the videos there from Indian Muslims, especially from one Dr. Naik, who is being listened to more and more in India, who is spreading intolerance in the name of studies in Comparative religion, and unfortunately who has the gift of gab and superficial knowledge, all these and more are the bane that affect our religion as well as India in a hugely negative way today. No one on earth can be an apologist to any of these misdeeds and especially the ones perpetrated in Kashmir (I heard all thye horrors from a Kasmiri Brahmin gentleman about how the Muslims there have systematically driven out the Pandits - he was one, on a very sleepless 18 hour flight to the U.S. from India).

But as Tamil Brahmins, we additionally face the scourge of the KKK (as my friend Sri Hari Ji puts it), and so here we are, rudderless, feeling impotent, yet being upset by all the stories of atrocities committed against us. We are told that Hindus think all the religions are the same, we are weak, we do not fight back etc., etc.

But the truth of the matter is that we as Hindus do not have options. We encounter Jathis that keep us apart, our venerated Varna system has gone to dust, people of different Varnas do not 'know' their places in the society anymore - Dalits do not want to be treated as outcastes, Shudras want to be educated and do not want to be doing the chores assigned to them, and of course, we the Brahmins do not want to do the work assigned to us by the Dharma. And then we have divisions between the Varnas and of course we have now Jathi primacy, and vote according to what is good for our particular Jathi. There is a gravy train called SC/ST and of course now the OBC is now being added to it, (and other rights to both Muslims and Christians based on Caste, which they are not supposed to have).

So, in this environment, what a small community can do? How do we make a difference? How can we resolve these attacks on our culture, religion and the country by all these nefarious entities I have mentioned above.

There is an adage in warfare: United we will win, divided we will fall. This message is very simple - unless the Hindus unite in India and fight for their 'Majority' rights, this culture will slowly but surely slip away. India will not be Hindu within a short time.

So, what is to be done? This is why, the time has come when it is not enough to just be angered or mortified by the actions of our enemies. We need to unite ourselves and present a unitary body to get rid of all the problems I have mentioned before. How do we do it?

1. First learn about our religion/culture.
2. Give some money to a cause you believe in. (Followers of Islam do as well as the Christians). If you do not, please understand that the culture of your birth will be gone in a few short years because your enemies are actively funding for your demise.
3. Try to socialize both your small Jathi community and your religious leaders as to what is happening in the world out there. When something unfair happens to any Hindu out there, we should all react to it.
4. Loose your Jathi identity for this sole purpose. I know traditions are hard to overcome, but let us embrace all our Hindu brethren as equals. This is the toughest thing to do, because some of us who are vegetarians will not even associate with some others who are non-vegetarians (talking of which, where is Sri Naras, I miss him). Let us not ask everyone to pass the question, 'Is he/she Hindu?'. As long as anyone wishing to join in this effort, let us suspend our charecterizations.
5. Let us analyze various ways where our Spiritual heritage can contribute to an expression of political will, where we can kick out these political parties, whose members do not know their fathers from power.

It is not enough to arouse anger - one should provide a proper way for that anger to be expressed constructively.

Just my opinion.

Pranams,
KRS

Excerpts from Sita Ram Goel's "HISTORY OF HINDU-CHRISTIAN ENCOUNTERS"

"...the coming of independence proved a boon for Christianity. The Christian right to convert Hindus was incorporated in the Constitution. Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru who dominated the scene for 17 long years promoted every anti-Hindu ideology and movement. The regimes that followed till the rise of P.V. Narasimha Rao raised the spectre of 'Hindu communalism' as the most frightening phenomenon. Christian missionaries could now denounce as a Hindu communalist and fascist, even as a Hindu Nazi, any one who raised the slightest objection to their methods. All sorts of 'secularists' came forward to join the chorus. New theologies of Fulfilment, Indigenisation, Liberation, and Dialogue were evolved and put into action. The missionary apparatus multiplied fast and manifold. Christianity had never had it so good in the whole of its history in India. It now stood recognized as 'an ancient Indian religion' with every right to extend its fold. The only rift in the lute was K. M. Panikkar's book, the Niyogi Committee Report, and Om Prakash Tyagi's Bill on Freedom of Religion."

"...the next phase which is continuing now started with Hindu awakening brought about by conversion of some Harijans to Islam at Meenakshipuram, renewed Muslim aggression in many ways, and Pakistan-backed terrorism in Punjab and Kashmir. The Sangh Parivar which had turned cold towards Hindu causes over the years was startled by the rout of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 1984 elections, and decided to renew its Hindu character. The Ramajanmabhumi Movement was the result. The Movement was aimed at arresting Islamic aggression. Christianity or its missions were hardly mentioned. Nevertheless, it was Christianity which showed the greatest concern at this new Hindu stir, and started crying 'wolf'. Its media power in the West raised a storm saying that Hindus were out to destroy the minorities in India and impose a Nazi regime. The storm is still raging and no one knows when it will subside, if at all."

"Hindus from seventeenth century Pandits of Tamil Nadu to Mahatma Gandhi have wasted no end of breath to demolish the dogma of Christianity. But it has hardly made any difference to the arrogance of Christian theologians and missionaries. That is because dogma was never meant for discussion. It is an axiom of logic that that which has not been proved cannot and need not be disproved. Who has ever proved that the nondescript Jew who was crucified by a Roman governor of Judaea in 33 AD atoned for the sins of mankind for all time to come? Who has ever proved that those who accept that Jew as the only saviour will ascend to a heaven of everlasting bliss and those who do not will burn for ever in the blazing fire of hell? Nor can the proclamation or the promise or the threat be disproved. High-sounding theological blah blah notwithstanding the fact remains that the dogma is no more than a subterfuge for forging and wielding an organizational weapon for aggression against other people. It is high time for Hindus to dismiss the dogma of Christianity with the contempt it deserves, and pay attention to the Christian missionary apparatus planted in their midst.

The sole aim of this apparatus is to ruin Hindu society and culture, and take over the Hindu homeland. It goes on devising strategies for every situation, favourable and unfavourable. It trains and employs a large number of intellectual criminals ready to prostitute their talents in the service of their paymasters, and adept at dressing up dark designs in high-sounding language. The fact that every design is advertised as a theology in the Indian context, and every criminal euphemized as an -Indian theologian should not hoodwink Hindus about the real intentions."

"Hindus are committing a great mistake in. regarding the encounter between Hinduism and Christianity as a dialogue between two religions. Christianity has never been a religion; it has always been a predatory imperialism par excellence. The encounter, therefore, should be viewed as a battle between two totally opposed and mutually exclusive ways of thought and behaviour. In the language of the Gita (Chapter 16), it is war between daivI (divine) and AsurI (demonic) sampads (propensities). In the larger context of history, it can also be described as war between the Vedic and the Biblical traditions."

(contd.)

Egypt's Mufti affirms religious freedom, sort of

First he said it -- or at least seemed to say it: Muslims could leave Islam without fear of incurring a death sentence. Then he didn't say it.
Actually, Ali Gomaa's position has been consistent throughout this mini-imbroglio. He says the apostate should be killed not because he has left Islam, but because he is a threat to society. In his original statement that many understood as calling for an end to the death penalty for apostasy, he says: "If the case in question is one of merely rejecting faith, then there is no worldly punishment. If, however, the crime of undermining the foundations of the society is added to the sin of apostasy, then the case must be referred to a judicial system whose role is to protect the integrity of the society...." Now he says, "I discussed the fact that throughout history, the worldly punishment for apostasy in Islam has been applied only to those who, in addition to their apostasy, actively engaged in the subversion of society."
In an Islamic society, of course, any apostate could be seen as "actively engaged in the subversion of society," since he would no longer be following Sharia which is that society's highest law, so this is no guarantee of religious freedom at all. But one could argue -- although the Mufti himself is not necessarily arguing -- that this should mean that apostates from Islam who live in non-Muslim countries should be left alone. When we see the Mufti issuing proclamations to the effect that Islamic apostates in Virginia need not hire armed guards for their convention, we may be getting somewhere.
"Egypt mufti reaffirms Muslim freedom of faith choice," from Middle East Times (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):
CAIRO -- Egypt's top religious advisor, Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa, reaffirmed his belief Thursday that Muslims could choose their own religion after the local press carried apparently conflicting statements. Gomaa maintained that while it would be a "grave sin" for Muslims to commit apostasy and convert to another religion, worldly punishment should only be meted out if their actions endangered society.
In many Muslim societies, there is a long-held view - not necessarily supported by scripture - that the punishment for apostasy is death.
"Not necessarily supported by scripture" is good. Some see Qur'an 4:89 as mandating death for apostasy: "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks." But not all Muslim theologians accept this as calling for death for the apostates, so it is "not necessarily supported by scripture." Then there is Muhammad's famous statement: "If anyone discards his religion, kill him."
"Choice means freedom, and freedom includes the freedom to commit grave sins as long as their harm does not extend to others," he said in a statement, echoing remarks that he made earlier in a Washington Post-Newsweek forum on Islam. His original remarks were picked up by the press who interpreted them to mean that the second-highest religious authority in Egypt did not mind Muslims converting to another faith, necessitating a statement from the mufti Tuesday condemning apostasy that appeared to contradict his Washington Post remarks.
"Some members of the press and the public understood this statement as a retraction of my position that Islam affords freedom of belief. I have always maintained the legitimacy of this freedom and I continue to do so," he said. "I discussed the fact that throughout history, the worldly punishment for apostasy in Islam has been applied only to those who, in addition to their apostasy, actively engaged in the subversion of society," he said.
The distinction is important as many clerics in the Muslim world have claimed that death is the automatic punishment for apostasy regardless of whether the individual is a threat to society or not....
Attempts by Muslims in Egypt to convert to other religions have been hindered by the state's refusal to recognize the change in official documents and in some cases have led to arrests and imprisonment.
"Even though it is not a criminal offense in Egypt, they get detained under emergency laws or are put on trial for contempt of religion if they wish to convert," Hossam Bahgat of the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights said....

Modi decides to reactivate anti-conversion law

Day after Governor returned Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Bill, Cabinet decides to “stop all religious conversions done through inducements or threat in larger national interest”

GANDHINAGAR, AUGUST 1: Months ahead of the Assembly elections and a day after Gujarat Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma returned a Bill to amend the Freedom of Religion Act, the Narendra Modi Government has decided to reactivate the dormant anti-conversion law enacted by the Assembly in 2003.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

A statement issued by Ministers I K Jadeja and Saurabh Patel, the government spokespersons, stated that the administration was of the view that without affecting freedom of religion as enshrined in the Constitution, it was necessary to stop all religious conversions through inducements or threats in larger national interest.

The statement added: “The Modi Government believes that the state has been specifically targeted by some foreign powers for religious conversions, as they convert the innocent and the poor using inducements and threats. Strong nationalistic political will is needed to counter such forces, but unfortunately the opposition Congress does not believe in preserving national identity. The Cabinet lauds the decision to bring in the original anti-conversion law of this Government, terming it in national and societal interest.”

Responding to the Governor’s decision to return the amendment Bill, the Government said that it was brought with the intention of preventing divisions within those religions which have their origin in the country. “The issues raised by the Governor would be studied exhaustively, and the Government would determine its next step in due time following constitutional guidance from experts,” the note stated.

The anti-conversion law was enacted in 2003 by the Modi Government immediately after it came to power, but it failed to implement it as proper rules and procedures were not stipulated.

“We were only waiting for some clarifications, of which the amendment Bill was a part. Now we will go ahead,” said a Home Department official.

Provisions of the law

• Bans conversion from one religion to another by force, allurement or fraudulent means

• Provides for punishment of up to 3 years, and a fine of up to Rs 50,000. In case the convert is a minor, a woman or a person belonging to SC/ST, the imprisonment is up to 4 years and the fine is of Rs 1 lakh

• Prior permission needed from the District Magistrate in a prescribed form for carrying out or even taking part in any religious conversion ceremony

• The convert too has to separately inform the District Magistrate. Failure to do so can attract both imprisonment of up to one year, a fine of Rs 1,000 or both

• Prior permission from DM/SDM needed for prosecution of offences under the Act

• Offence under the Act has to be investigated by an officer not below the rank of inspector

As one can see now in the Indian media and the T.V., they seem to have no other news than Haneef, Haneef and Haneef all over the front page, prime time, editorials and so on portraying him as the victim par excellence, the 'jesus' hounded on behalf of all the muslims. And they are writing of real and imaginary unsung heros, the forgotton 'Haneefs' of India victimized by the Hindus who are now clubbed with the 'white' imperialists led by the U.S. This is the loathsome secularism imposed on the Hindus because they never cease to imply and proclaim that we are the 'fundamentalists' and if not kept in check would drown the Muslims and Christians in the river of their blood! Well then, do these secularists ever understand that when the Muslims reach even a 30% mark in the next 15 years, they could rule this country under the very ground rules laid by the secularists and once in power they would throw out the secualrists first and conduct the pogram against Hindus aided and abetted by their compatriots in the neibouring countries. They would have resurrected the lost 'Mogul" glory! Those who sleep walk should know this.

Lest we forget:

In nearer history, Melkote had been ruled by a dynasty founded by Yaduraya. His clan had built several water retaining structures --kalyanis-- of great effectiveness and beauty. A small scholarly community had thriven there. In early 19th century, Tipu Sultan's army descended on a Deepavali day and massacred 800 citizens, mostly of a sect known as Mandyam Iyengars. Sanskrit scholarship had been their forte. [To this day Melkote does not celebrate Deepavali]. That slaughter rendered Melkote a near ghost town. Its environmentally connected life was broken, kalyanis went to ruin, water shortage became endemic, the hills went brown. Sanskrit lost a home.

Shame on you, Left

The Left parties would always like themselves to be seen as being super secularists, no matter what the ground reality and their opportunistic alliances contrarily The acquittal of Abdul Nazar Madhani in the Coimbatore blasts case, and Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan's welcoming of the same is a good time to focus the attention on him, his rise and the Left's wholesome chicanery all through. Madhani, the accused number 14 in the Coimbatore serial blasts case, was a rabble-rousing fundamentalist, who used his skills of demagoguery to make an impact on impressionistic Muslim youth in Kerala. Madhani, who has been freed of the all the five charges against him due to lack of evidence, soon extended his spell to Tamilnadu and Karnataka too. Madhani also floated the provocative Islamic Sevak Sangh (ISS), and quickly gave it a political extension by launching the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 90s.
To start with, the Left parties saw Madhani for what he was a religious fundamentalist and a terrorist. In the 20 May, 2001 issue of the CPI-M's mouthpiece People's Democracy, this is what the party had to say: 'The Congress record in Kerala was no better insofar as fighting the forces of communalism is concerned. Here, as is well known, the Congress is in the leadership of the United Democratic Front that includes the Muslim League as well as several caste-based parties. But the Congress did not remain content with this only. It went to the extent of having an open understanding with the BJP as well as with the Muslim fundamentalist People's Democratic Party (PDP). As reported by the media, some of the Congressmen even went to the Coimbatore jail to seek support from the PDP leader Madhani who is lodged there on the charge of his involvement in the Coimbatore bomb blasts.' Later in November 2001, the same magazine called Madhani, 'the leader of a terrorist organisation'. The Left consistently called him a terrorist as long as he was supporting the Congress-led UDF.
So how has Madhani now grown to the level of being called a 'respectable secularist' by the Left? The 2006 Kerala elections changed everything. Looking for support in the Malabar region, a duplicitous the LDF moved in and got Madhani, who holds enormous clout with the Muslims in Kerala, to announce his support for the Left in the elections. The LDF romped home convincingly, and every political pundit agreed that Madhani's words of support had indeed tilted the scales decisively. Little wonder then that Achuthanandan is now moved to say (upon Madhani's release) that 'he (Madhani) would carry out his political functions sticking to the principles of secularism and democracy'. The whole story has only one logical thread: Anybody who opposes the Left is communal, and would be even called a terrorist. But the moment the support shifts to the Left the same terrorist becomes a stickler for secularism. Shame on you, comrades. And henceforth just spare us your laborious homilies on secularism and nation-building.

Folks,

My intention of starting this thread was to highlight the differences between what I call as 'true secularism', which as diversified country like India would need to have peaceful coexistence among it's varied and diversified peoples and the 'pseudo' secularism, which by definition is the skewing of this noble tradition by some 'interested' parties.

It is not my intention to look back at History and on that basis form enmities. As my friend Sri Hari correctly said, histories that do us no good today should be viewed in our rear view mirror.

We all know that the ideal of secularism is not present in modern day India. This ideal has been scurrilously hijacked by the leftists and is cruelly used by ALL (including some supposedly Pro Hindu parties) political parties to divide all our communities through vote bank politics. The name of the game is power.

So, while I think that our Muslim brethren in India (at least some of them who have the power of the voice) are mis-behaving, I also think that in the long rung one can not drive out of the country a minority people of 150 million, without bloodshed. Why would we? We have asked them to live among us in peace, as our religion dictates.

If a minority of this minority is mis-behaving, it is because as a majority, we are not united. As long as the Hindus are splintered politically, every significant minority will assert their interests, and actually, one can not blame them for doing so.

Now, coming back to my main point, I feel, unfortunately, this thread is being used to spew out unnecessary hatred towards a particular community. There is no use in recounting and raising passions about a Tippu Sultan story that happened before independence. This only raises unnecessary passions without any valid solutions.

But now we all have a voice in a democratic process. So we should reflect on these issues and use our votes accordingly. We should influence our friends/family to do the same.

Hate never accomplished anything in this world. As the saying goes, 'an eye for an eye, makes two blind'.

So with these comments, I request that the Admins close this thread forthwith. I would request Sri Amoorkan Ji to not post anymore under this topic, and if he wants to do so, he can start his own thread.

Pranams,
KRS

I nor any true Hindu could ever hate anyone let alone spew venom on the so called minority who would soon become a majority if the trend continues. There is a community that does not celeberate Deepavali (and I personally is not celeberating after what the secularist outfits have done to our Acharyals) and those who feel irksome of history must tell those people to start celeberating Deepavali because there is this profound and alien concept of secular democracy which in practice is neither secular (it is now termed 'pseudo-secuar' nor is it democratic for there are more of booth catching, false voting and mob driven cracy in this mad political system for God knows why it is being extolled). I do not know if the puritan secualrism could ever be extricated from the jaws of the so called pseudos. The way it goes it can only get worse and in time, I have warned before, that the very minorities would menace the majority who would face the same fate of the native Americans (called Red Indians or American Indians). There is continuous calumny spread on the Hindus who are time and again branded as extremists, that they are going to throw out 150 million people and that they are itching for ethnic cleansing and blood bath etc. Shame on those who imply this.

We will continuously talk what is truth and what dangers lie ahead of us so we guard against them. The sorry state of affairs is blamed on 'pseudo' secuarists. Who is going to throw them out? Does any one expect Hindus to do it knowing that this secuarism is a product of the west for their own problems and not a panacea for us. Hindu Dharma is the principle that sustained our socieity for milleniums and the secularists have continuously attacked it and are doing it and will be doing it to destroy Hinduism. Why demean Hindu Dharma which is greater than secularism?

The question is who do you belong to?

Dear Sri Armoorkan:
I agree with you 100% in your observations. It seems that you and Sri KRS are on the same page.

My question is: what do we do to bring about unity among the Hindus?

Dear Sri Silverfox,

Thanks for your query. Very pertinent one. I shall attempt to reply in detail and in the meantime here is this warning news that came on the internet today from the PTI.

It is a warning for people who naively think that Islamic terrorism is based on economics or even economics alone. It is the mindset of a religion that the secular outfits have proven to be incable of containing. In fact no one denies that these secular outfits have courted and encourage them.

India faces threat from new forms of terrorism: Report
PTI
Saturday, August 04, 2007 21:38 IST

WASHINGTON: India faces threat from new forms of terrorism of the high-tech variety, an area where the country's top intelligence agency may not be measuring up, a think tank has said.

Intelligence analysis agency Stratfor has said India would have to guard itself against new forms of terrorism of the high tech variety, an area where the Intelligence Bureau (IB) may not be measuring up.

"India has had problems with Islamist militant groups since its independence. For most of this time, the militants, whose goals are largely separatist in nature, have focused on India itself," Stratfor said in an analysis.

However, it said that 'over the past few years India's radical Islamist groups have begun to flirt with the concept of transnational jihadism as embraced by Al Qaeda.'

In the context of the failed bombing plot in London and Glasgow, the analysis agency said, 'while three of the suspects in the United Kingdom plot were Indians, this case does not signify that India has fallen into the jihadist pit, at least not yet.'

Going on to take a look at the structure and functioning of India's Intelligence Bureau (IB), it said, "Most senior intelligence officials were trained by the Soviets during the Cold War and/or have had British training. As a result, the IB exhibits efficiency and a certain level of sophistication."

Praising IB for its surveillance ability, Stratfor said, "It is among the world's five best intelligence services when it comes to conducting physical surveillance, bugging hotel rooms and carrying out black bag jobs."

Stratfor, however, said 'the IB has not been terribly successful at developing human assets inside the militant Islamist groups. Moreover, while its senior officers are talented, its large cadre of working-level officers is weak.'

"The bottom line is that sophisticated transnational jihadist operatives could operate in India because the IB simply does not have robust intelligence capabilities at the working level," Stratfor said in its intelligence brief.

The sworn enemy within and without

M V KAMATH

When an unpretentious mosque built by an alien conqueror reportedly under instruction from his leader, Babar, on a spot of land held holy in India - namely Ayodhya - for no other reason but to show the conquered who is in power, falls into disuse and a long-suffering people demand its demolition and the space occupied by it returned to those it legitimately belonged, there is a hue and cry among our secularists. Liberal Muslims don't have the grace to concede to Hindus what was essentially stolen property, meant to humiliate the ruled, again, mostly Hindus.

When scores of living temples in Malaysia are routinely demolished, Indian newspapers decline to report the sacrilege. Our secularists don't want to irritate Wahabi Islamists. In recent months several mosques in Pakistan have been levelled down, but to Indian secularists that is none of their business. And Indian Muslims maintain a respectful silence. Now comes a story of grim reality: Pakistan's President Parvez Musharraf has been forced to lay siege on one of the biggest of all mosques in Islamabad, Pakistan's very capital. Some walls of the land surrounding the mosque have been demolished.

The jihadi students - thousands of them, both male and female - have been told either to surrender and die. Several hundreds have surrendered including a cleric who was trying to hide under a burqa. Just imagine what our secularists would have said if such a situation had arisen in India. Merely watching TV images of the family of the detained jihadi terrorists, doing their jihadi things in Britain, gave our dear Prime Minister sleepless nights.

As the media noted, did Manmohan Singh lose his sleep over victims of the Samjhauta Express and the 7/11 Mumbai train blasts which took the lives of many and badly injured several others? How long is the UPA government appeasement of terrorists to go unquestioned? Who supported the ISI and the Pakistan government in America's war against Afghanistan? Was it India? Who encouraged the Taliban and the jihadists, not to speak of Al Qaeda in their murderous activities? Again, was it India? Who else was it except the United States itself and its British poodle, Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of Britain? When Britain ruled India it tried its level best in separating Hindus from Muslims.

It was Britain which encouraged Mohammad Ali Jinnah to play mayhem with peace. It must have been with Britain's blessings that Jinnah dared to call for Deliverance Day that resulted in floods of blood flowing in the streets of Calcutta. Jinnah should have been promptly arrested and jailed for good.

It was Britain which was responsible for the partition of India. In the immediate past, the jihadis were paid and patronised by the United States, and now India is being made the victim. The United States has much to answer for; so has Saudi Arabia, another of Washington's poodles.

Their support, financial, moral and material to the jihadis in their self-interest has resulted in global terrorism, but, as the saying goes, as you sow, so you reap. The US is paying for its folly. So now is Britain. And very rightly, so is Pakistan as well. They had encouraged hatred and killing in the name of democracy. Now they are paying for it. They should have known the dictum: Never play with fire; the chances are, one will get burnt.

But in a globalised world, terrorism cannot be confined to one single country or nation. Britain has belatedly come to realise that. Tony Blair has been kicked out, and quite rightly. Now Gordon Brown must try to make recompense.

And so should Musharraf. If he wants to put down terrorism, he must dismantle not just the Lal Masjid, but the entire ISI. Can he do it? But let the truth be told: For all the terror and encouragement of separatism, only two nations are to be held responsible: The United States and Britain. But the greater culprit is the United States. And it is not just the opinion of one columnist. One would like readers to go back and read the Nobel Prize Acceptance Lecture of Harold Pinter, delivered on 8 December, 2005. No stronger indictment of the US could have been made even by India.

Pinter was not at a loss for words. And it is well to remember that he was expressing his views at probably the most sacred platform: The Nobel Prize Award Ceremony in Sweden. Pinter said that 'direct invasion of a Sovereign State has never been America's favoured method.'

In the main, it preferred what it described as 'low intensity conflict' - a technique that Pakistan has perfected in Jammu & Kashmir. Said Pinter: 'Low intensity conflict means that thousands of people die but slower than if you dropped a bomb on them in one fell swoop. It means that you infect the heart of the country, that you establish a malignant growth and watch the gangrene bloom'. That gangrene is blooming now in Pakistan. 'The crimes of the United States' Pinter continued, 'have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless; they were also 'brutal, indifferent, scornful and ruthless.'

Watch what is happening in Iraq today where people get killed day after day, hour after hour. Pinter called the invasion of Iraq as a 'bandit act, an act of blatant State terrorism, demonstrating absolute contempt for the concept of international law, an arbitrary military action inspired by a series of lies upon lies and gross manipulation of the media.' How many, Pinter asked 'do you have to kill before you qualify to be described as a mass murderer and a war criminal?'

According to Pinter, the United States and Britain, Bush and Blair, 'deserve to be arraigned before the International Criminal Court of Justice.'

Incidentally, when under the UPA, negotiations are being held for an Indo-US nuclear deal, Delhi would do well to remember what Pinter pointed out, namely, that the US now occupies 702 military installations throughout the world in 132 countries and possesses 8,000 active and operational nuclear warheads, 2,000 of which are on 'hair-trigger alert, to be launched with 15 minutes' warning' and when its interests seem to be under strain, it has no hesitation to pitch one country against another, as the mad Nixon and his unprincipled Secretary of State Henry Kissinger tried to do in attempting to persuade China to intimidate India during the Bangladesh war.

Musharraf is now in trouble. He is damned if he supports the jihadists (as he did in the past) and damned if he doesn't (as now he is attempting to do). But let our secularists beware. We may need to take a strong hand against jihadists in our own sleeping country. Today they are trying to wreck Britain; tomorrow they surely will try to disturb peace in India with the aid of the ISI, if not Saudi Arabia. We will have to take firm and decisive action. And we don't need a Prime Minister who can't sleep at the thought of the mothers of terrorists weeping at the likely fate awaiting their killer sons. There probably are plenty of Sabeels and Kafeels around. We are being made aware of that somewhat belatedly. It is shocking to be woken up to that fact. But it is never too late to be on the alert. India is warned.

I suspect the secualrists would care less.

Reschedule BG line inaugural'
NT Bureau
Chennai, Aug 8:

Hindu Munnani has urged the State and Central governments to have the inaugural of the broad gauge line between Rameswaram and Manamadurai on some other day barring 12 August.

In a statement here today, the founder organiser of the Hindu Munnani, Ramagopalan said devotees flock Rameswaram on Aadi Amavasya day to perform rituals for their forefathers.

12 August happens to be Aadi Amavasya and the government has scheduled the inaugural function of the broad gauge line of Rameswaram on the very same day.

As several VIPs including Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Railways Minister Lalu Prasad are slated to participate in the function, tight security measures would be in place and it would pose great difficulties to the lakhs of Hindus who congregate at Rameswaram to perform rituals.

'The government should reschedule the function and respect the sentiments of Hindus,' the Hindu Munnani leader said.

On a Madani pleasing trip
8 Aug, 2007, 0454 hrs IST,

Islamist leader Abdul Nasser Madani is the latest cause celebre of the Left, the Congress and the civil liberty alarmists. A hardline leader, who still faces around 20 cases in Kerala that include spreading communal hatred, was recently exonerated by a special court of the charges of his involvement in the Coimbatore blasts case. The Tamil Nadu government, which appoints the prosecutor, was under pressure from the Kerala government to ensure his release. In a rare show of bipartisan unity, the Congress and the Left had got together to pass a unanimous resolution in the Kerala Assembly demanding parole for Madani. They got soothing news from Coimbatore last week when the special court acquitted the fiery Islamist for lack of evidence regarding his involvement in the bombings that killed 58 people.

The power elite and the liberals promptly organised a massive civic reception for Madani in Thiruvananthapuram. While liberals launched into an exercise at guilt-tripping for the “excesses committed by the State”, politicians promised limitless healthcare support and police protection for the Islamist. The political leadership hectored the audience on the need for unity and harmony in the company of Madani. He told the meeting that his politics flowed out of his religion and that his politics would be radically different from the “mainstream” IUML.

Incidentally, it was a government headed by the Communists, who organised the celebrations in Thiruvananthapuram, that handed over Madani to the Tamil Nadu police after the Coimbatore blasts. The LDF had claimed that he was the biggest threat to communal harmony in Kerala. The Congress-led government headed by A K Antony that came to power subsequently endorsed the previous government’s stand that Madani and his men have blood-stained resume. The then chief minister had said that letting him out on parole could lead to communal disturbances in the state.

The latest self-serving display of hypocrisy is understandable as Kerala’s political class doesn’t mind somersaults if they help swell their electoral kitty. Association with thugs does not really worry them. Instances are many. CM *beep* himself has recently admitted that list of endorsers of his party leadership reads like a who’s who of hoodlums.

But the trend is worrying as it comes at a time when the state is having to brace itself for the arrival of arson-setting and bomb-strapped men. Intelligence agencies have been warning the state that Kerala’s coastline has become important destination for pushing equipment and resources for terror groups operating in Kerala and neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

A wink here and a nod there by the state’s politicians have ensured that there is no hindrance to the mobilisation based on trans-national grievances. The biggest audience for the manufactured outrage over the Danish cartoon on the Prophet, protests against India’s engagement with the US and solidarity for Saddam Hussain were provided by the northern districts of Kerala.
Kerala was in news recently for its spotty record on fighting terror-financing when the high court directed the state government to take immediate measures to track the source of Rs 4 million hawala funds that landed in Kondotty village of Kerala. State home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan was forced to admit in the Assembly that illegal transfer of money to the state by agents abroad is a Rs 100-million-a-year business. The minister also told the Assembly that investigations into some of the cases showed that people involved in this illegal trade had links with anti-national forces. The state intelligence set up is also suspecting a portion of these funds sustaining the radical Islamic outfit NDF.

Predictably, the fatwa-issuing NDF — its recent “protest” movements were against school uniforms and singing of the national anthem — has been denying charges against the outfit. The all-round backing for Madani saw the NDF coming out to seek the same lenient treatment for its activists lodged in different jails for their involvement in the Marad carnage. There was no uproar. No outrage.

Kerala’s bizarre politically-correct leadership, however, seems unconcerned over the threat that this coddling poses to its people. With the two sides of the political aisle vying with each other for a larger share of the minority vote — the Muslim vote alone accounts for 20% — the competition to appease hotheads is certain to intensify in the coming months.

But this cynical game has not been attracting any adverse attention in the mainstream media or the intelligentsia of the state. Perfectly understandable. This compassionate crowd has a pathological distaste for accepting the reality. And they barbecue anyone who questions their make-believe world or identifies the enemy.

In these troubled times, policies of the government should not be framed to please this crowd. It’s time to admit that the state’s secular fabric is under severe stress. Attempts to be on the right side of hardline opinion will only imperil the security of the citizen.

HINDU UNITY - CRY OF THE HOUR

(last updated on June 20, 2006)

To:
Sri Satya Sai Baba, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Ma Amritanand Mayi, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji, Swami Ramdev, Gurumayi of Ganeshpuri, Sri Swamy Dayaananda Saraswathi (Arsha Gurukulam), Swami Tejomayandji (Chinmaya Mission), Sri Ganapathi Sacchidananda Swamiji, Pramukh Swaminarayan (BAPS), Sadhvi Ritambara, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, Swami Chidanand Saraswathi Maharaj (Muniji), Sant Morari Bapu, Shri Rameshbhai Oza, Indirabeti ji, Asharambapu ji, Sudhanshuji Maharaj, Gurus of ISKCON, Arya samaj, Didiji of Swadhyay Pariwar, Swamis of Ramakrishna Mission and to all great Mathadhipathis, Mahamandaleswars, Dharmaacharyas, Saints, Gurujis and Swamijis of various sampradayas of Hindu dharma ( whom we have missed mentioning, our sincere apologies) and their devotees and disciples:

Great Gurus and Swamis, we bow down to all of you for your wisdom as acharyas and seek your guidance and blessings. You are sthitaprajna and beyond the pale of human frailties. This is a small offering of guru rinam which we are sure you will consider with compassion. This petition is to bring in those great Acharyas and Swamis who have not joined in Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha and to unite all for the formation of UHDS.

India is under siege today by many forces, and many people do not even realize the gravity of the situation. The enemies of India are networked effectively bonded by their common animosity towards Hinduism. While Pujya Swamy Sankarachrya of Kanchi Peetham was incarcerated and humiliated, the entire English and Tamil media went celebrating while concocting fraudulent stories. When pujya Swami Ramdev is blatantly attacked by Brinda Karat, and Pujya Satya Sai Baba tarnished with unfounded accusations, the same media was in glee. One by one, each of you might be targeted by the “secularist” elite. If one swamiji is attacked it must be treated as an attack on all of you. If Aksharadham or Ayodhya is sprayed with bullets and grenades, it is an all out attack on entire Hindu Samajam. Hindu Acharyas should speak with one united voice. The Hindu dharma is crying for help.

Modern versions of Duryodhana and Duhs'asana are conversionism and terrorism with their onslaughts to besiege Bharat. Mass Christian conversions and the covert/overt support it receives from “secular” political parties and media is very alarming. Marxists hate everything that is sacred and beautiful in the Hindu heritage of our civilization. In the guise of neo-liberalism, globalization has become the present-day mantra and westernization is eating at the very roots of Hindu society (even small boys and girls are forced to wear neck ties in schools). (contd.)
