இரக்கம் என்பது எள்ளளவும் இன்றியே;

ராஜா போல தான் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டு;

As idle as a painted ship

Upon painted water.

Water water everywhere
Nor any drop to drink.

A sadder and wiser man,
He rose the morrow morn.

The innumerable multitude of wrongs
By man on man inflicted.

The dwarf sees farther than the giant,
when he has the giant's shoulder to mount on.

(Samuel Taylor Coleridge)

Spiritual Equations, just for a change :)

Inaction = Action without Attachment.

Contentment = Absence of Complaints.

Yagna spirit = Absence of Depression.

Chanaraagathi = Accepting everything as God's PrasAdam.

PArAyanam = Passage to the Supreme.

Mukthi = Merging with God, after losing one's identity.

# 58.

Some more Spiritual Equations:

Facing situations = Life.

Concentration = Inspiration + Interest.

BrAhmanEyam = Simple living + High thinking.

Bhakthi = Unconditional, single minded and intense love for God.

Universe = Cosmic projection of God's glory.

Attitudes speak louder than actions.

Actions speak louder than words.

(Bonus)

Life is a journey meant for Spiritual Evolution.

We reveal our inner most thoughts by our comments.

Truth reveals itself in silence.

Silence endows special power to our speech.

Only a fearless person can hold on to Sathyam.

Anger, jealousy and hatred are the three faces of the same enemy.

(told by our guru in Geetha elaboration)

#61.

Convince people. Don't compel them.

Needs are different from desires.
Fulfill your needs and not your desires.

Learn to balance Spiritualism with materialism.

We become miserable whenever we go against the wishes of God.

Desires disturb the mind like ripples on the surface of water.

(Heard during elaboration of Geetha by our Guru)

#62.

Human body is given by God- to realize Him.
Do not develop complexes based on your body, mind or intellect.

Unless the object of desire in known, we can't desire it.

Learn to trace everything back to it source, namely God.

Disappearance of Delusion is the beginning of Self realization.

God removes all our doubts, when we are ripe enough to get them removed.

(Heard during Geetha elaboration buy our Guru).

# 63.

A pure heart begets all good things in life, as gifts of God.

To become serene, we must learn to ignore the petty things around us.

We must learn to become indifferent to everything that disturbs us.

Never compromise on your inner peace and equanimity.

Sun does not care about the dogs barking at it. Become majestic like the Sun.

(Told by our Guru during Geetha elaboration)

#64.

Feeling tired? Get some sleep.
Feeling stiff? Get some exercises.
Feeling sad? Give some smiles.

Happiness can make you smile.
The converse is also true!
A smile can make you happy.

"I don't mind compromising of my essentials,
but I must have my luxuries!"

The best way to make a man do something?
Suggest that he is too old to do it!

#65.

Believe the person who seeks the truth.

Doubt the one who claims to have found it.

Prosperity is not without many fears and disasters.
Adversity is not without comforts and hopes.

A man must make his opportunity as often as he finds it.

Happiness in a marriage is entirely a matter of chance.

The wisest of the wise may err.

It is always the season for the old to learn.

Words are the physicians of the mind diseased.

An angry man always thinks that he can do more than what he can do.

#67.

Money can buy a bed, but it can't buy not sleep.

Money can buy the books, but not the brain to understand them.

Money can buy food, but not the appetite to eat them.

Money can buy medicines, but not a good health.

#68.

Money can buy a house but not a home.

Money can buy luxuries but not loyalty.

Money can buy amusements but not happiness.

Money can buy cosmetics but not beauty.

# 69.

Money can buy results but not respect.

money can buy servants but not good friends.

Money can buy lust but not love.

Money can buy accessories but not acceptance.

# 70.

Money can buy service buy not serenity.

Money can buy power but not prowess.

Money can buy recognition but not remarkableness.

Money can buy men but not God.

#71.

The paths of glory lead but to the grave.

Full many a flower is born to blush unseen,
And waste its sweetness on the desert air.

Far from the madding crowd's ignoble strife.

(Thomas Gray)

Hi, perhaps I should mind my own business, but then, since when have I listened to my better sense? With this preamble, I like to wonder aloud, what more are all these nuggets of wisdom but thought ending cliches?
