Hillary Clinton wins final presidential debate: CNN poll

October 20, 2016 09:18

Hillary Clinton won the final presidential debate.

52% to 39% for Donald Trump, according to a CNN/ORC poll of debate watchers. There was a plus or minus 4 percentage point margin of error.

The sample of debate watchers were 36% Democratic and 29% Republican, making them slightly more Democratic than an average poll of all Americans.Trump did outperform expectations, however.

Nearly 6 in 10 viewers said he did better than expected, whereas 44% said the same of Clinton.

hi

i agreed too..

Hillary Yes!
But I hope she is more aggressive than Obama.
Obama was just sweet talking, do right, accomplish nothing president.
OK on Obamacare and some agreement on climate change with China.
Middle east, total disaster.
Fight against terrorism, nothing accomplished.
Bin Laden was a dead duck hiding in Pak, anyway.

guntanmo bay....unfinished task

immigration reform....unfinished...

Most of the following statements have easy rebuttals.

Hillary Yes!
But I hope she is more aggressive than Obama.

Not necessarily a good thing. Exhibit: Libya

Obama was just sweet talking, do right, accomplish nothing president.

A sweet disposition matters, specially when the nation has frequently needed healing.

OK on Obamacare and some agreement on climate change with China.

Which everybody else before had failed: both healthcare and climate change.

Middle east, total disaster.

Of Bush's making. Besides why should Obama be policeman of the ME?

Fight against terrorism, nothing accomplished.
Bin Laden was a dead duck hiding in Pak, anyway.

WHAAT ?? Countering terrorism is easier to say than to do. Look at Europe or even India.
Symbolism matters, death of OBL shows that terrorism does not pay. Unless there are 72 virgins waiting in Jannat.

hi

why?.............for me..both are same...one is less..other is more.....
Who is less?
Ultimately evil wins.
May be its time to rethink and reacquire Indian citizenship and vote for honest politicians in India.
Just kidding!
Vote Hillary as the lesser of two evils.

Here in America you have to be a Christian if you are in any high office with only exception being Jews. During WWI Jews were hated in America. Jews are the counterparts of Brahmins in India. Brahmins were generally scholarly and good in accounting and math and held such positions in the British Govt. The British also entrusted the Indian Govt at the time of independence to a bunch of brahmins. That is why the hatred for Brahmns. I thought by now with the ascending to power of a large majority of non-brahmins that phase of ploitics was over. I am surprised that even now they are using such divisions in politics. Sad for India.
In America, you don't stand a chance as a Hindu for any elected office. Look at all the so called descendants of Indians who are in office. They have all converted to Christianity just for the sake of politics.
Can you even imagine that a Hindu or atheist will ever become POTUS.

Brahmins in INDIA have a better acceptance EXCEPT in TN. So people who base their opinion on the entire community are wrong.
Brahmins do not belong to a different religion, so comparing with Jews is totally baseless.
Money is power, as you need money all the time. In Western world Jews were traditional money men and Rich, so there was power, and influence. Still there is antisemitism in all parts of western world and middle east.

Tulsi Gubberd a Hindu is the senator from Hawaii.
Keith Ellison is a Muslim congressman from Minnesota.
It took 200 years to elect a Catholic (JFK) as President, as generally you had to be a WASP (White Anglo Sextant Protestant) to be elected to a nationwide election.
It took another 20 years to elect a Black man to be President (Barrak Obama).
It might take another 8 years to elect a women to the same office.
In a democracy, where every one votes, and you need a majority to vote to win, it will be difficult for any minority to to win an election for a nationwide office.

It has been done, just wait and see.

“Wall Street clearly prefers a Clinton win certainly from the prospective of equity prices,” said Dartmouth College’s Eric Zitzewitz, one of the authors of the new study along with the University of Michigan’s Justin Wolfers. “You saw Clinton win the first debate and her odds jumped and stocks moved right along with it. Should Trump somehow manage to win you could see major Brexit-style selling.”

.
I have been to Israel and seen their Kosher meals etc. It's all very similar to brahmin's "Madi and aacharam" rules. I felt very lucky that I could eat vegetarian food. They keep the meats in a far corner and they are cooked separate from the veggies and rice. Similarly milk, yohurt, pickles etc. are also kept separate and ladles cannot be mixed even accidentally. This was all in their military cafeteria too!
I did not bring comparison of Jewish financial wealth vs the Brahmins. Also Jews occupied fairly high diplomatic and government positions in the US just like in early Indian history.
Thanks for bringing to my attention the few exceptions to the American political scene.
I am still voting only half-hearted for Hillary.
I just hope and pray that she does better than Obama.

I am one of the outsider supporting Trump in this style. I have always voted Republicans and BJP in my life, so I am not changing just because of Trump. He may be brash and not politically correct, but I like the fact that
- he was tough on Islamic terror
As a country point of view (US) I like what he says of illegal immigrants. I know so many my friends on H1B waiting for 10+ years for Green card now. Hillary talks of giving blanket citizenship to people who violate law (illegal). Now imagine if India is flooded with Pakistanis or Bangladeshis illegally and we give citizenship to all.
- Personally I have read many of Leaked emails. The way Hillary has conducted is unbelievable. How can she have a private server and delete emails. Why keep on bringing Syrian refugees. Why not ask Saudi to host them. Why she is collecting millions in funds from Saudis. The list is on and on and even though I woudl have liked a different republican candidate, I feel he is lesser of two evils.

Yes there are some similarity, between Orthodox Hindus and Jews.
Do you know many orthodox Muslims turn vegetarians when travelling abroad, as they are not sure that the meat is Halal.

The latest Gallup tracking poll shows President Obama’s approval rating is soaring just in time for the Nov. 8 election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. According to Gallup, 57 percent of Americans believe the current president is doing a good job – his best marks since just after his 2012 re-election. The tweet below by Republican pollster Frank Luntz shows how Obama stacks up with the approval rating of recent presidents at the same point in their second terms. While the current president ties Bill Clinton, he easily beats Republican hero Ronald Reagan.

Final @Gallup second-term POTUS approval rating before election

• Reagan: 51%
• Clinton: 57
• Bush: 25
• Obama: 57http://on.gallup.com/Obama13
2:57 PM - 22 Oct 2016

So if you expect Hil to outperform Obama, it may not happen. Then again it depends on the parameters you set.
