Not sure how Vijaykanth is going to help the alliance as he has been anti DMK from inception and how about his own cadre who have been pro MGR

One thing is clear, there is big trouble in store ahead for the DMK. It is predictible that AIADMK would gain from this split, but many new entrants could also dig in... it remains to be seen.

MK is the central figure of DMK and not Stalin or Alagiri. I don't think Alagiri's will give any trouble to DMK's electoral prospects in the South. DMK is dependent on MK and not Alagiri.

But Azhagiri was holding the fort in the south, with his goondaisms... until Vijayakanth emerged on the scene. That was when, perhaps, DMK saw the chance for an opening.

True, that MK holds the party together, but with the passage of time, the hand that holds the reins has to let go one day, and it is when the real face of DMK would show up...

As long as MK holds the fort, the family members cannot do anything. If MK addresses some public meetings in the South, he will sort out the doubts in the minds of DMK cadres.

MK is a very successful person, both in Politics and Personal Life.

I am neither a DMK nor an AIADMK sympathizer.
 
MK wants to create a sympathy wave in favor of DMK through these utterances..Who can exploit the family sibling rivalry to the hilt..None other than MK an ace Cinema director who has created several such dramas in the past..Have you not forgotten the drama enacted by him when he was arrested by AIADMK ("Aiyoh, They are killing me" in TV visuals)...That he can play with family feud is first of its kind...Already effigies of Azhagiri have been burnt by DMK cadres at Chennai and other places

Contradictory statements are aired by the media - alagiri will expose corruption; he will not leave the party; karunanidhi is lying.

Interesting bit from alagiri: I only said karunanidhi must out live his sons. Karuna's hot tear drops must fall on his body when he (alagiri) is dead.

Is Alagiri ready for a new party?: Posters announcing formation of a new party by former Union minister M K Alagiri found in some parts of Madurai today caused a flutter despite the suspended leader's assertion that he would never leave DMK.



The wall posters put up by Alagiri's suspected supporters among other places in Jeeva Nagar near his house declared that "Kalaingar DMK is ready" and described the sulking leader as the General Secretary.

"Our party...Our flag...is ready let us face the Lok Sabha election," read the posters, which surfaced a day ahead of Alagiri's proposed meeting with his followers.

The suspension of Alagiri, elder son of DMK President M Karunanidhi and DMK South Zone Organising Secretary, was the culmination of events starting with posters allegedly put up by his supporters in January causing embarrassment to the leadership and widening the rift in the party.



Alagiri, sulking after being denied a ticket to contest the Lok Sabha polls, had last week met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, BJP chief Rajnath Singh and superstar Rajnikanth, triggering speculation about his future plans
