A statement released by the Finance Ministry said some officials were found involved in carrying out transactions that were irregular and violative of the Reserve Bank of India’s instructions.

The Ministry also warned people that illegalities will not be tolerated and appropriate action will be taken against individuals who are involved in irregular and unauthorised activities.

The suspensions have come amid reports of Income Tax authorities conducting raids at many places after the Centre’s move to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes. Two businessmen in Bengaluru were held for possessing Rs 5.7 crore cash in new currency notes.

Four government officials, banking sector officers and a network of touts; the biggest seizure by the Income Tax department post demonetization has revealed how deep the muck runs.

IT dept said on Friday that cash in excess of Rs 6 Crores, bullion of 7 kg approximately and jewellery about 9 KG were found from the residences and offices of four Karnataka state government officers.

Out of the cash found, Rs 5.7 Crores was in new currency of Rs 2000 notes and Rs 90 Lakhs has been found in the old demonetised currency.

But the loot did not end with that.

The two Karnataka State Government Engineers and two contractors had unaccounted income of Rs 152 crores and a chain of luxury cars.

Over 900 new Rs 2000 notes seized from TN BJP leader who backed demonetisation

A Bharatiya Janata Party youth wing leader in Tamil Nadu was arrested on Thursday with Rs 20.5 lakhs cash, including over 900 new Rs 2000 notes, weeks after the Prime Minister’s demonetisation drive was announced.

JVR Arun, the BJP’s youth secretary in Salem district, declared his support for the demonetisation decision a week after Narendra Modi announced it, through a Facebook post which read,“For the progress of our country, let’s stand in a queue.”

Just days later, he was caught in a routine search near Salem. Police recovered several currency bundles worth Rs 20.5 lakhs from Arun’s car.
There were 926 notes of Rs 2,000 denomination, 1,530 0f Rs 100 and 1,000 of Rs 50 notes in the bundle, The Indian Express reported.
The police seized the cash and deposited it in the treasury after Arun failed to give satisfactory explanation for the source of the money.
The Income-Tax department was informed about the seizure. But a detailed probe may follow to ascertain how the youth wing leader managed to procure the notes and whether bank officials had helped him.

The BJP’s state unit has issued a show cause notice to Arun demanding an explanation, with party’s state head, Tamilisai Soundararajan, later informing the reporters that the youth secretary has been expelled from the party.

கர்நாடக அரசு அதிகாரிகளிடம் இருந்து கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட ரூ. 6 கோடி புதிய நோட்டுகள் தொடர்பாக வருமான வரித்துறை அதிகாரிகள் தீவிர விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகின்றனர்.

முன்னாள் பாஜக அமைச்சர் ஜனார்த்தன ரெட்டி வீடு மற்றும் அலுவலகங்களில் வருமான வரித்துறை அண்மையில் சோதனை நடத்தியது. இதேபோல கடந்த செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை முதல்வர் சித்தராமையாவுக்கு நெருக்கமான மூத்த ஐஏஸ் அதிகாரி மோகன் சக்ரவர்த்தி உட்பட 2 அரசு அதிகாரி களின் வீடுகளில் சோதனை நடத்தப் பட்டது.
இந்தச் சோதனையில் கிடைத்த தகவலின் அடிப்படையில் வருமான வரித்துறை அதிகாரிகள் கர்நாடக அரசு சாலை மேம்பாட்டுத் துறை யின் முதன்மை திட்ட அலுவலர் ஜெயசந்திராவின் பெங்களூரு வீட்டில் சோதனை நடத்தினர். அவருக்கு சொந்தமான கட்டுமான நிறுவனத்தின் அலுவலகம், பண்ணை வீட்டிலும் சோதனை நடத்தினர்.
இதுமட்டுமில்லாமல் ஜெய சந்திராவின் மகனும் தொழிலதிபரு மான பிரிஜேஷ் ஜெய‌சந்திராவுக்கு சொந்தமாக சென்னை, ஈரோட்டில் உள்ள‌ இடங்களில் சோதனை நடத்தப்பட்டது. அங்கு 2 சூட்கேஸ், 3 மூட்டை ரொக்கப்பணம், 5 கிலோ தங்கக் கட்டிகள், 6 கிலோ தங்க, வைர நகைகள் கைப்பற்றப்பட்டன. இந்த ரொக்கப்பணம், நகைகளை மதிப்பிடும் பணி பெங்களூருவில் உள்ள வருமான வரித்துறை அலுவலகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.

இதில் ரூ. 4.7 கோடி மதிப்பி லான புதிய 500, 2000 ரூபாய் நோட்டுகளும், ரூ. 30 லட்சம் மதிப் பிலான பழைய 500, 1000 ரூபாய் நோட்டுகளும் இருந்தன. அதே போல கைப்பற்றப்பட்ட தங்கக் கட்டிகள் மற்றும் தங்க வைர நகை களின் மதிப்பு ரூ. 5 கோடி என மதிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

கர்நாடக காவிரி நீர் வாரிய கழகத்தின் முதன்மை பொறியாளர் சிக்கராயப்பாவின் வீடு மற்றும் அலுவலகங்களில் வருமான வரித்துறை சோதனை நடத்தியது. பெங்களூரு, மைசூரு, சென்னை ஆகிய இடங்களில் நடந்த சோதனை யில் ரூ.1.3 கோடி மதிப்பிலான புதிய 2 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் நோட்டுகள் சிக்கின. மேலும் ரூ.152 கோடி மதிப் பிலான சொத்துகளின் முக்கிய ஆவணங்களும் 3 ஆடம்பர கார் களும் கைப்பற்றப்பட்டன. இது தவிர பழைய ரூபாய் நோட்டுகள் ரூ.90 லட்சம் அளவுக்கு பறிமுதல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.

வருமான வரித்துறை சோதனை யில் சிக்கியுள்ள கர்நாடக அரசு அதிகாரிகள் ஜெயசந்திரா, சிக்க ராயப்பா பிரிஜேஷ் ஜெய சந்திரா ஆகியோர் விசாரணை வளையத்துக்குள் கொண்டுவரப் பட்டுள்ளனர்.

பழைய ரூபாய் நோட்டுகளை புதிய ரூபாய் நோட்டுகளாக மாற்று வதற்கு உதவிய பல்வேறு வங்கி அதிகாரிகளும் முக்கிய அரசியல் தலைவர்களும் திரைப்பட தயாரிப் பாளர்களும் சிக்க வாய்ப்புள்ளதாக தெரிகிறது. இதுமட்டுமில்லாமல் வருமான வரித்துறையின் வலை யில் சிக்கியுள்ள அரசு அதிகாரிகள் இருவரும் முதல்வர் சித்தராமையா, பொதுப்பணித் துறை அமைச்சர் மகாதேவப்பா ஆகியோருக்கு நெருக்கமானவர்கள் என கூறப்படுகிறது.

எனவே முக்கிய அரசியல் தலைவர்கள், அமைச்சர்கள் ஆகியோரின் கறுப்புப் பணத்தை அரசு அதிகாரிகள் மாற்றும் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டனரா என்ற கோணத்திலும் விசாரணை நடைபெறுகிறது. இதில் சென்னை, ஈரோடு, கோவை ஆகிய இடங்களை சேர்ந்தவர் களுக்கும் தொடர்பு உள்ளது. அங்குள்ள தனியார் வங்கிகளின் மூத்த அதிகாரிகள், தனியார் மருத்துவமனைகளின் தலைவர்கள் ஆகியோரை விசாரணை வளையத்துக்குள் கொண்டுவர வருமான
வரித்துறை திட்டமிட்டு இருப்பதாகத் தெரிகிறது.


இதுகுறித்து கர்நாடக உள்துறை அமைச்சர் டாக்டர் ஜி.பரமேஷ்வர் கூறியபோது, “சட்டவிதிகளை மீறுவோருக்கு சட்ட ரீதியாக தண்டனை வழங்கப் படும். விசாரணையில் சிக்கியுள்ள‌ அரசு அதிகாரிகள் மீதான நடவடிக்கை குறித்தும் அவர்களை பணி இடைநீக்கம் செய்வது தொடர்பாகவும் முதல்வர் சித்தராமையா முடிவு செய்வார்'' என்றார்.
