தத்-ப்ரணமாமி ஸதாஶிவ லிங்கம் || 4 ||

குங்கும சம்தன லேபித லிங்கம்
பங்கஜ ஹார ஸுஶோபித லிங்கம் |
ஸஞ்சித பாப வினாஶன லிங்கம்
தத்-ப்ரணமாமி ஸதாஶிவ லிங்கம் || 5 ||

தேவகணார்சித ஸேவித லிங்கம்
பாவை-ர்பக்திபிரேவ ச லிங்கம் |
தினகர கோடி ப்ரபாகர லிங்கம்
தத்-ப்ரணமாமி ஸதாஶிவ லிங்கம் || 6 ||

அஷ்டதளோபரிவேஷ்டித லிங்கம்
ஸர்வஸமுத்பவ காரண லிங்கம் |
அஷ்டதரித்ர வினாஶன லிங்கம்
தத்-ப்ரணமாமி ஸதாஶிவ லிங்கம் || 7 ||

ஸுரகுரு ஸுரவர பூஜித லிங்கம்
ஸுரவன புஷ்ப ஸதார்சித லிங்கம் |
பராத்பரம் பரமாத்மக லிங்கம்
தத்-ப்ரணமாமி ஸதாஶிவ லிங்கம் || 8 ||

லிங்காஷ்டகமிதம் புண்யம் யஃ படேஶ்ஶிவ ஸன்னிதௌ |
ஶிவலோகமவாப்னோதி ஶிவேன ஸஹ மோததே ||

Patanjali Yoga sutra identifies 5 poisons or pancha-klesa that we need to avoid. (Chapter 2 sloka 3)
Totally entangled/absorbed into anything or abhinivesa
Pride or asmita
Unlearned/Ignorance or avidya
Aversion or dvesa
Attachment / bonding or raaga

Lingashtakam says devotion to Linga is cure for the 5 poisons. Shiva is poison swallower indeed!

Shiva is Energy. Shakti is Momentum. Energy and Momentum cannot be separated. It is the ardha-nareeswara form.

Energy (E) and Momentum (P) are related by E^2 = p^2c^2 +(mc^2)^2. This equation, geometrically describes a hyperboloid, which is the ‘Linga’.

Those particles whose energy and momentum satisfy this relationship are called ‘On-the-shell’, ‘Real’ particles. Universe evolves out of such particles. Particles that do not satisfy this relationship are ‘Off-the-shell’. They are ‘virtual’, not contributing to Universe unless they become ‘real’.

The hyper-bolic linga (EM relationship of particles) is the basis for all the Universe’s expressions, excitations, states of matter, their Yajna/evolutionary sacrifice, destruction of evil / anti-evolutionary forces, creation of crores of stars, the eight siddhis, removal of eight poverty and is the ‘soul’ or ‘aham’ of everything in the Universe.
