Some of us do out of broadmindedness,

a few other do due to helplessness.

I do understand that.. what I was trying to tell my MIL was all people are the same, you are not in the same position when you were able to move mountains and if it were in India, I would be the one caring 100% for you, but since we all have to work, this is a compromise, in fact I had opted to quit my job and take care of her, but I was very strongly advised not to by her son, so I had no choice but let her be taken care of by nurses during the day, but at night I took care of her and had with me a baby monitor, in case she needed me since her room was a bit on the other side, but I don't think I used it ever, since I was there the moment I felt I heard something, and very quickly i moved to be n her room and my younger daughter used to take over on Friday and Saturday nights. but the weekends, my children and I took care of her.. it was not all that difficult, once you care for someone, it is not a chore.. she was a great grandmother and a great mother for her boys.. I lived with her for 25 years..

I think Rice is best equated to the Aatman.

Aatman with limitations is the Jiva.

Aatman without limitations is Eshwar.

Like rice, the limited and the unlimited Aatman can assume many forms. To use the same example as you have done, Idli, dosai, kozhakkattai, annam, uppumaa, adai etc.

GOD is the epigram of Generator, Ordainer and Destroyer.

By mere chance it happens to be the reversed form of DOG. Still we have to give gratitude where it is due.

So it is only proper that we become as grateful as
the 'man's best friend' in the presence of God.

One small request! When I read the single letter condensation of English words, I feel throttled.

So I request you to be good enough to type the full words- at least in the posts meant for me.

I had quoted the proverb and was asked to show its source.

Luckily it was told by a granny in one of the comedy scenes of marikkozhunthu and I was saved.

So black can go with any other color but white does not go with the other colors!

I agree with you on that Mrs. V.R.. I don't like any shortening of any word in english.. I guess I too belong to the old school for that matter.. Anyway, I am sending you guys something a friend of mine had sent on English language, nothing to do with the subject, but enjoy the play of words, here goes..

I don't understand your logic H.Krishnamurthy, it is not an individual who is unknown or an establishment that is unknown to the public.. Lions Club has existed for the longest time in India and when some good things have been suggested, it is the responsibility of people to explore it, before they venture into the project.. I think people in India have forgotten that we were the land of giving and never taking, now it is only taking and no giving..

The indian people are so doubtful in good intentions.. that is so sad.. I think in case something like this happens again, some of you who know the establishment very well could find out about the arrangement and help others, in this case conducting free marriage ceremony..
