There is a proverb - All that glitters are not gold. All the Old people's life is
not a paradise. Some old people have very good presence of mind, tremendous
sense of humor. Some people strictly adapt themselves to eating, sleeping and
watching TV besides sometimes indulging in less important things in the House.
The grand children and elders in the House sometimes may feel bad, if the old
Lady interferes in unwanted things, particularly when some outsiders are present.
The grand children at times do not like their Mammy being criticized, expressing anger
over their mother, indulging in silly things, etc. This slowly develops a status of
non-tranquility. Further, this brings a sort of peacefulness atmosphere, strictly
not quarrelsome, the old choosing preferring to live with others i.e. peaceable
temperament person. Suppose, if they are neglected by the Children, they would
have to spend the life in old age home, if the other member of the family is not
willing to accommodate (in some houses we see both the sons try to keep away
from the mother because of the old lady's nature or behavior), they have no other
choice but to stay in the Old Age Homes. They would have to spend their own
life's earnings for their day to day needs. Once when they move to the Old Age
Home, they all yearn for love, affect and emotional connection from the Off-springs
which are not available immediately to them. Of late, we see this in our Country
and as a result lot of Old Age Homes have come up.
