What is Kothram? How to know one's kothram? What r the significance of it?:help:

Gothram is the lineage of people which is named after the rishis from whom the lineage started. Hence,we have Gowthama gothram from Gowthama rishi, Viswamithra gothram from Viswamithra rishi etc.
