Improving pronunciation of Slokas in Tamil script

Tambrahms should create diacritics by consensus(??) for tamil letters to enable writing slokas easily in mobile, so that the pronunciation would be correct. For example:-
Using ' * ! for correct pronunciation of Slokas written in Tamil.

i agreed with u....even HOLY BIBLE was in latin in earlier days......now a days ....in tamil nadu churches...

they do tamil bible services.......i can understand your feelings....but something is better than nothing..

It is a very good suggestion and of course there should be consensus on the notation else the same text will be read/ pronounced differently by different groups.

Many books in Tamil are printed with numbers 2, 3 and 4 as suffix, to show the correct pronounciation.
My sister Mrs. Visalakshi Ramani follows this easy method in her posts in our forum.

Yes. Sure. Popularised by Gita Press. Doesn't It make the writing appear artificial? Suffix, superscript and accents need special efforts, best would be 3 symbols selected from windows character map or memes. Even Sanskrit numerals २३४, written alongside maybe less artificial. க க२ க३ க४ etc. Let's create a consensus.

Just make an effort to learn Grantham script for shlokas.
With Grantham script all the problem of pronunciation is solved.

Happened recently, recitation of kandha shashti recently got different versions while chanting together for a purpose, though it is in tamil and the slang will be different in different areas.

I went through the first post and follow ups. Yes. The essence of reciting Sanskrit slokas and mantras lie in correct pronunciation more than knowing the meaning. Over a century many methods have been used in printed books to use Sanskrit words written in Tamil. Some put numbers as suffix or prefix, some use straight and italics with additional number or sign as suffix, some use 4 types of fonts, etc. to represent 4 types of consonants. Grantham possibly was not in regular use other than Vedic people, though it had print types. Now with type setting gone for computer page setting, we need to go by the provisions and restrictions of computer keyboards and fonts.
We as a family group when we wanted to print a pooja book for our family god in 2008, we studied all possibilities and finally adopted a new version. After 10 yrs of convenient usage I have started to print our books in that manner under name 'Srividhya Publications'. The usage details are available in all our religious books recently released, esp. the Shannavathi Tharpanams and Paksha Mahalaya Tharpanam books shared at this site. Interested people may please go through it and comeback with your comments.

Sorry for the delayed reply. The details are well provided in our books and please download and read the chapter for correct understanding.
This needs a Keyman or other suitable keyboard where you shall be able to use different fonts to mark the differences. It needs patience to type and set. I tried to develop an exclusive keyboard system for easy typing but not successful so far. I don't know if one can type different Tamil fonts simultaneously on a mobile.

This is our book. This method is followed by us after practising for 10 years. We developed the script between 2008 and 2010 to prepare the pooja book for our family god and after a good practise we decided to follow this for our new books as above.

Why not study devanagari script to get the correct pronunciation instead of sticking to tamil script which is inadequate for reciting slokas correctly and trying to confuse by adding #* etc?

Well said. It's not adequate. True. Better to study the language itself for better usage. But this is for those knowing Tamil only and who are unable to learn Sanskrit for some reason but still want to recite Sanskrit slokas/mantras properly. And our method is slightly different. Hope you appreciate.

There are no limits to 'why not this'? Why not learn Deva Nagari,? Grantham? Śarada? IAST? HK? ITRANS?... The question is, if Tamil script is used to read Sanskrit Slokas, what diacritics will be suitable so that pronunciation would be perfect. It is easier to learn and use three diacritics than to learn 46 phonemes, 12 Vowel signs and countless conjunct consonants.
