How India's Gen Z is redefining spirituality

One thing to think about is how did the brahmins as a group or class came to hold a high social status in the beginning?! To understand this, may be you have to study the evolution of priestly class. Everywhere the priestly class held a high social status even from the earlier shamanisric days. so this is not unique to Indian society.

In prehistoric societies, a shaman is perceived as one with some supernatural ability. May be he did something that could not be explained by others. May be he healed someone that others couldn't. May be he did something that people perceived as a miracle because science wasn't advanced enough to explain. An aura develops around him and people accord him high respect. Then when societies become complex more elaborate rituals evolve and the group that was tasked with carrying out these rituals became the priestly class.

You look at Egypt or Mesapotamia or Rome or Greece. Everywhere the priestly class enjoyed a high social status and were accorded great respect. So the brahmins who were priests in the beginning did not have to claim high social status. That was how societies evolved at that time. Over the time, priestly class controlled access to knowledge including religious knowledge and rituals etc which cemented their position in the social hierarchy. This aspect of priestly class enjoying high social status is not unique to Indian society.

Money and power rule the modern world. So rich people and politicians enjoy the highest status today.

I am noticing a trend.

1) If one adheres to their own form of worship and culture = Fanatic/ intolerant and one is made to feel guilty about it.

2) Then when one says they are respect all religions and have the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam mindset, then some think these types can be influenced and brainwashed.

Honestly I think its easier dealing with Judas then those who think they can brainwash others.
Just to add..
The esoteric Gospel of Judas suggests that Judas was the more spiritually evolved disciple and it was Jesus who asked Judas to " betray" Him in order to execute the Divine plan.

Just like in Adhyatma Ramayana which suggests that Kaikeyi knew about Rama being an Avatar and Rama has asked her to request Him to be exiled so He can liberate Ravana.

Anyway, just a suggestion..its actually easier to brainwash a closed minded fanatic but not one who has a universal mindset who sees everything as One.
A Universalist is free to experience being a Hindu,Muslim, Christian, Buddhist etc all at once anytime.

Wow. Renukaji has one-upmanned (or should this be up-womanned?) others when it comes to using catch-phrases. Universalist got to be better than humanist?! But what we are learning is that even a self proclaimed humanist can be a fanatic. After all the dictionary definition of a fanatic is "a person filled with excessive or single minded zeal". Anyway if an individual has held on to this zeal for more than 20 years, is it prudent to expect any difference in future? Does a dialogue matter at all? Being nice and accomodative doesn't work. People will take advantage and ride rough-shod over you. That is the reality!!
