In India Racism is rampant, color of skin is out in public. We do not understand the impact of Racism. Indian in general and People in India must acknowledge this and correct our social stances.

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo became the third cricketer from Caribbean islands after Darren Sammy and Chris Gayle to openly talk about racism. While using hard-hitting words against racial comments around the world, Bravo said he would never ask for revenge but now ‘enough is enough’ and times has come they black people demand ‘equality and respect’.

Bravo’s comments came after the Black Lives Matter campaign came into being after the killing of African-American man George Flyod in the USA.

“It’s sad to see what’s going on around the world. As a black man, we know the history of what black people have been through. We never ask for revenge, we ask for equality and respect. That’s it,” Bravo told former Zimbabwe cricketer Pommie Mbangwa in an Instagram live chat on Tuesday.

Though Bravo did not mention anything about Sammy’s revelations of racism during IPL, the West Indian all-rounder said they don’t want revenge or war regarding this and only want equality.

“We give respect to others. Why is it that we are facing this over and over? Now enough is enough. We just want equality. We don’t want revenge, war.

“We just want respect. We share love and appreciate people for who they are. That’s what is most important.”

The 36-year-old, who has played 40 Tests, 164 ODIs and 71 T20Is for West Indies, said he wants the world to know that they are powerful and beautiful people and gave the example of greats such as Nelson Mandela, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan.

“I just want our brothers and sisters to know that we are powerful and beautiful. And at the end of the day, you look at some of the greats of the world, whether it is Nelson Mandela, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan we have had leaders who paved the way for us,” he said.

Two-time T20 World Cup-winning captain Sammy had earlier alleged that a racist nickname was used to address him during his IPL stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad and demanded an apology.

Sammy said he was called ‘Kalu’ while he was in India. ‘Kalu’ is a derogatory word to describe black people. And an old Ishant Sharma photo which surfaced on social media on Monday, did testify Sammy’s claims.

To be honest no one cares for anyone else.
During the George Floyd protests many sites online were downplaying it by highlighting "Kashmiri Pandits lives matters" , "Kashmiri Muslims live matter", "Hindu lives matter" etc totally being insensitive to the need of the present situation.

Eradication of feeling of superiority need not be just a skin color issue.
It can even be a varna issue or a jati issue or status issue or money issue but whatever said and done no one should be killed just becos he is of a different shade.

The usage of the word Kalu is very common in North India to refer to a South Indian.

Also Puranas depict Asuras as dark and ugly but Devas as fair and lovely.
Humans are actually kind of stupid.
They feared darkness during the evolution of existence cos without light they have no freaking idea what would attack them..hence you can see this fear even in religion.

All religions talk about Light ..be it jyotir gamaya or Nur or Let there be Light!

its just plain fear of the human mind.

Let's get real?
Light is so sense dependent.
Our eyes need light to see hence all the obsession with light and darkness.

Btw I once met a blind person who was commenting on the color of the skin of south indians calling them black becos they eat curry.

I was LOL! I could have asked her "can you sense blackness tru your other senses?"
But I restrained myself becos I felt I guess her lighter skin is the only reason for her to feel worth it cos it gave her a feeling to feel superior over a sighted dark south indian...without that feeling her blindness would break her down.

so it just stems that the average human is in acute need to feel superior.
Its a devolved mind that needs to feel superior.

This wont change.
The only thing that SHOULD be stopped is "Killing in the name of skin color".

Well thought out post.

True - But they have Gods who are black like காக்கா so காக்கை சிறகினிலே you may see Nanda lala like Bharathi!

Looks for Hindus colour issue tilts to Black Superiority in their Gods!

It is also a fact some BLM activist endorse Fair Skin lotions and creams!

Except for Kali, there is no room for Black. Kali is not a Vedic God.
Vishnu and Krishna are Blue, not black.

Don't wish to intrude here. But Krishna means Black. In fact even now we say 'Krishna Packsha' to refer to the waning phase or darkening phase of the moon between a full moon and the next new moon.
Without a doubt, over the centuries Krishna's colour was changed to blue.

I agree we are digressing from the topic, but I wanted to clarify.
Krishna's color: (I do not have personal knowledge as I have not seen Krishna).

It’s not fully black, it’s blackish-blue, called shyama, it is a unique colour and not commonly found here on Earth. It is not the blue color visible in the mundane world but is a transcendental variegated colour. I imagine it to be something like a deep blue sapphire or blued steel. It is described to be like a bluish-black cloud that is heavy with rain, it is translucent and effulgent.

Speculating that Krishna is the colour of shyama, because of space, infinity, the sky or the ocean or the amalgamation of all colours is fun, but Krishna just is the colour of shyama. He always has been and He always will be.

I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who is adept in playing on His flute, with blooming eyes like lotus petals with head decked with peacock's feather, with the figure of beauty tinged with the hue of blue clouds, and His unique loveliness charming millions of Cupids. Brahma Samhita 5.30

Draupathi was for dark and hence her another name is Krishna !

Epic war in our Purana - Dharmayudh is because of the vow of dark colored Draupathi - Puranas were sensitive - honored dark and fought a war for their dignity!

How about Krishna ? Vedic God? Confused?

Well HUL is dropping Fair from Fair and Lovely and rebranding the top selling product - But not withdrawing the product which has 250crores market value. The product, manufacturer ,distributor, consumer and even the celebrities endorsement will be the same -

Could be cosmetic or forced infliction because change in mind set people at large? The name of the old wine in a new bottle is not yet known.

One activist suggests it could be " Be Yourself"

Fair enough - No pun intended.

Krishna is NOT a Vedic god.
The Vedas were revealed by Brahma at the beginning of the Satya Yuga, while the Rama Avatara took place during the Treta Yuga and the Krishna Avatara took place during the Dwapara Yuga.

Krishna and Rama are figures from folk mythology who only later were incorporated into the Sanskritic tradition.

Is this claim really true?
seen it over and over again in many other sites too.
for eg some sites even say that Tirupati Balaji, Ayyappa, Lord Muruga etc were all non vedic and later on absorbed into the Vedic pantheon.

If all these claims are true then everything we know feels so false.
So how on earth would Satyam Vada Dharmam Cara be our motto if everything we know has been fabricated?

Something doesn't seem right and its extremely troubling.

We really need solid evidence to prove that Lord Krishna and Lord Rama were Non Vedic Gods.

Can we have the evidence please?

Remember historian Romila Thapars Fantastic fiction claiming Yidhistra 's act of renunciation was inspired by Ashoka. Krishna was contemporary of Yudhistra in Mahabharatham . Historians (Left liberals) may hypothetically connect Sri Chakra to Ashoka Chakara as well !

Throwing red meat to hungry wolves, and them yelping does not prove anything. Branding Historian as "left-liberals" and fictional writers as "god" is not proof of any truth.
You don't have to attack the messenger when the message that messenger is bringing is facts.
Instead of talking innuendos, and maligning the messenger do we have proof of any other claims. Romila Thapar is peddling her book, she may have unproven theories, so if anyone has proof to the contrary let us discuss it.

Please do not take recourse to Trumpian dogma of maligning the opposition by throwing falsehood hoping it will stick.

This thread is being derailed. Let us get back to the original topic.
It is about Racism in Cricket in particular and India in general.
There are other threads about Krishna and Avatars, so let us discuss such topics in appropriate threads.

The following episode will strengthen the crusade against Racism - Krishna devoid of sena or weapons could establish dharma - சாம்பவாமி யுகே யுகே! No derailments intended!

Left liberal Romilla InspiredMahabharatham!
Black Krishna felt Enough is Enough - inspired by covarna Dwanye Bravo & his mates - released Sri chakra which was again inspired by Ashoka Chakra to destroy Sisupal when he hit his century of insults!

Krishna of Mahabharatham unstoppable!

He plays on the side of dharma cunningly without breaking the rule of the game!

There is a reality and then there are multiple myths.
Racism faced by players of African Decent in India in the 21st century is real, and we must try to solve that problem today.

Spinning web of how a mythical hero solved a mythical problem in a dream is not a solution to the present problem.
