Ather S340 – India’s first smart electric two-wheeler. The Ather-S340 is a connected vehicle powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, and features a digital touchscreen dashboard, a lightweight aluminium chassis. It can reach speeds of 72 kmph and the vehicle charges up to 80 per cent in less than an hour. Its touchscreen dashboard contains a Vehicle Control Unit (diagnostic system) that constantly monitors the rider’s behavior, a GPS, and an indicator showing how much distance can be travelled on the remaining charge. The inbuilt navigation uses data to not only predict the time taken to reach a destination but to also analyze the road conditions.
Founded by: IIT Madras alumni Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in 2013. Company name is Ather Energy.
Current Client Base: Soon to hit the market. The founders claim that their early buyers would be technology enthusiasts as per a report.

the key to the electric bike is the battery. battery performance suffers exponentially inverse, with fall in temperature. in the south, it won't be an issue, but when the thermometer hits single digits, today's battery just about grinds to a halt.

which is why billions are still being spent, trying to get batteries which are efficient and small in size and still a work in process.

the rest of the electric bike technology is over 100 years old and a no brainer.

here in toronto, we can get electric scooters, charged at home outlets, starting from canadian $500 upwards. can be ridden only from may to october when the temperature is minimum in the teens. and upwards...

chinese made.

Looks quite stunning! another two three rounds of odd-even policy could make it much in demand in Delhi!!

hi

when there is power short supply....how can we charge scooter?....there is always problem with batteries.....some times

fire is inevitable....is safe for fire problems?....india is very hot country...is it battery survive in hot conditions....

we can innovate/copy easily....but real problem is practicality.....all batteries are made in china...
