Lord Dhanvantari is regarded as the god of ayurvedic medicine (Ayurvedam) in the vedic religion. People pray to Dhanvantari, asking him for improved or good health for themselves and for others. Dhanvantri Mantra forms the part of prayers offered to the lord. Mantra of Dhanvantari with its meaning is as follows:
