It is literally a fight for the chair among BJP leaders in Agra as they bid as high as Rs 1.25 lakh for the piece of furniture on which BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi sat during a recent public meeting here.

According to party sources, BJP MLA Jagan Prasad Garg has so far made the highest bid of Rs 1.25 lakh while others are not far behind with MLA Yogendra Upadhyaya and Ramshankar Katheria, MP from Agra, also making bids over Rs one lakh.

However, the contractor Pramod Upadhyaya who provided the furniture during the rally, a BJP corporator himself, has now refused to part with the chair, the sources said.

He is not yet the PM, how will it go when he becomes the PM?

nuts. all of them.

NaMo's chances of making it to the PM's chair will get adversely affected by such unseemly and despicable hero worship.

That said, I think the Indian mind is genetically attuned to such hero worship and undue eulogization, hageography, etc. I make this observation on the basis of the recent attitude seen here about Thyagaraja. Who knows, NaMo may also become an equally unquestionable figure (rishi or another avataar of Rama, the Maryaada Purushottham) say, after 150 years and people will be worshipping him because he gave us extremely high class national highways, which are completely faultless and extremely perfect!!
