In a management program I attended , one of the faculty , a renowned prof. from IIM used to have a hip flask . in between , after giving a short assignment to participants , he would go to bathroom and have a swig and return . He would be reasonably drunk by the end of the teaching session of three hours after a few trips to bath room with the flask.lol

it has nothing to do with what doctors do in spare time
there are as many incompetent doctors as there are incompetent professionals in other professions.
in fact many hospitals are death traps
I would think a lot before agreeing to get operated for anything
have you ever wondered what goes thru minds of doctor when throughout the working hours patients keep talking about real and imaginary ailments
it is a thankless profession
there has to be an escape mechanism for them
in delhi , if you go to govt hospital OPDs , you will see hundreds lined up for consultation .
The doctors room ,often small. cramped and time shared . doctor is with two or three patients at a time one doctor is talking with ,the other stretched on bed nearby and third waiting to get a hearing .
he often has to make up witih couple of minutes , what is the patient suffering from and give his recommendation . what do you think will be the result
doctors and interns living conditions in hostels are terrible . every year some commit suicide not being able to cope . these guys and girls are some of the best brains of the country . we need to have a heart to feel for them

someone got operated for a stomach ailment badly and had to be reoperated since the patient complained of pain . the patient died and matter ended up in court . court awarded compensation for negligence of doctors to the complainant

it is getting very hot .delhi was 43degreees celsius yesterday .today is no better . I understand chennai is no better .good to get away . also change of scene does a lot of good .Only within India, this time!
It is not the heat alone . water crisis has started again . delhi has two water treatment plants lying idle as there is a dispute with haryana . Delhi lined up the munak canal to stop water leaking to ground . haryana is refusing water supply . mine was a constituency of manish shisodia and we had plenty of water as long as he was minister .
also delhi govt officials are now taking it easy as there is no state govt .they bunk offices . so lt. governor ordered operation of biometric attendance system forth with . it might be time for them to go strike .
delhi is a happening place . there have been 160 fires in NCR in last 6 days . places included supreme court lawyers chamber . security could not put out the fire as they did not know how to operate fire extinguishers . so great welcome for new chief justice . in one fire 300 huts were burnt off .
nobody is bothered as politicians are out of delhi due to elections
