The idea conveyed by the sloka is different from the one given by you!
The Bhaja Govindam tells us to give up all the attraction to the fairer sex.
Your kural says not to associate with women who sell themselves for
money.You have to really search till you find the exact meaning or skip it
altogether! :nerd:

Mom.. You, unfortunately missed my previous verdicts..
In this, I have clearly stated that the kural meanings are not absolutely
collaborated with the Baja Govindam merely it is closer to Baja Govindam .
If u not satisfied my explanations i will try to find the exact meanings from
other tamil phrases ..

If the meaning are going to be different, then they need not be given
side by side in the same box. You may give your views as another
thread with good moral messages. When given side by side we will
always looks for the similarity of the concepts. Not just me... I mean
everyone!
No need to feel bad. Just give your views and do not include the
Baja Govindam slokams.

This is by siddhar Siva vakkiar.
Bhaja govindam is the essence of Vedanta and is composed by Sri
Adi Sankara for the benefit of common people. It consists of nithya-
anithya vasthu vivekam, cultivating vairagyam, then bakthi and gnanam.
It speaks upto Jivanmukthi stage.
The outpourings of Tamil Siddhars like Sivavakkiar, Pattinathar and others
develop vairagya in us. They are more outspoken and pierces you like
an arrow released from the bow.
You are doing a great job. You are capable of writing a good commentary
but it appears you have limited free time. Regards,

The very thought and the guts to make great works eternal value as cheap

There is another meaning for the word " Govindam ". Sri Govinda Bhagavathpadar
was sri Sankara's Guru. Sankara had his Guru's name in mind when he composed
this poem. I read this in one of the vyakyanams by a learned pundit.

Sage Vasistha tells Rama - There are four gate-keepers at the entrance to
the realm of liberation or moksha. They are self-control, spirit of enquiry,
contentment and satsangh. The seeker should diligently cultivate the
friendship of these or at least one of them.
When the mind is at peace and the heart leaps to the Supreme Truth, when
all the disturbing thought-waves in the mind-stuff have subsided and there is unbroken flow of peace and the heart is filled with the Bliss of the Absolute,
when thus the Truth has been seen in the heart, then this very world
becomes an abode of bliss. ( YV )
Adi Sankara sums up all these in Bhaja Govindam . Is it not ?
According to Swami Ram Tirtha and swami Poornananda Tirtha , YV is the
greatest piece of literature in the world on Advaita Vedanta, unmatched
by any other in the world.

Satsang is what most people lack in these days. When we interact with different kinds of people, we do need a lot of self control not to lose our equanimity. So that is the greatest challenge I face now a days.
Contentment is only a disposition of one's mind. As for the spirit of inquiry is very much there in every one but misdirected in most cases.
In any case it is good to know what helps and what hinders our spiritual advancement.
Please continue to give more 'food for thought'.
