Kejriwal government to waive off pending water bills

Frankly , raise a hue and cry and lo in a few hours, army moves to clear blockade in munak canal and water supply restored.

So water crisis hue and cry in delhi is like politicians and film stars in tamilnadu going on fast for cauvery water for a few hours between breakfast and lunch.

Delhi is political.

Most do not take anything too seriously. Whether it is garbage piling up due to safai karamcharis or water supply failing due to jats, it is only a fun game of politicians.

Delhi people shrug off such things and move on.

That is the spirit of delhi.

Tomorrow we will await a new tamasha starting with budget session parliament

Interesting days ahead.

Most at Delhi do not take anything serious except Kejriwal, who take anything serious and knock at the doors of the court seeking remedy, like 'Mommy Mommy ..............

So he seems to be the only person sensitive to the issues at Delhi who is serious about everything and anything.

Nice Chief Minister and a nice L.G.,

Keeping the entire country entertaining.lol

There is no dearth for tamasha at Delhi

When morarji govt fell , there was water crisis in delhi and there was no water supply for 2 days.

People went to bathroom and kept thinking of urine therapy and also wondering when will water supply be available for washing you know which body part.

This is the best memory I have of the janta party govt

So the public as well as the existing Government and the Govts. that ruled Delhi are unable to solve this crisis permanently?

And you hopefully vote to different Parties every five years and select a C.M

But nothing seems to have improved.

And you never fail to blow horns about Delhi, its public, its Chief Minister, etc

IMHO all are seems to be sailing in the same boat.

This is what the media says and it cannot be done in few hours.

"Army rescues Delhi's water source; supply to struggle for 10 days

This report was published at 11.42 IST

The news that is coming in from Haryana is that the army has taken control of the Munak canal. The doors of the canal, however, have still not been opened. It is reported that the protestors have damaged it badly. So, it will take some time to repair," Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra told reporters after attending the meeting at Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's residencee.

Delhi faces water crisis after canal sabotaged in deadly protests

This report was published at 14.41 GMT

“There is extensive damage to the canal and it will take some time to fully restore the supply to Delhi,” said the water board spokeswoman Sanjam Cheema. “Engineers are working and hopefully the work will be completed by evening.

Let the crisis get solved as water is the life line.

Let Delhiites get plenty of water in the coming days.

Delhi Warns Water Crisis Could Run For Another 15 Days

Delhi's water board was still racing to restore full supplies to the city of 17 million people that relies heavily on a canal
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A water crisis in the national capital will take up to two weeks to fix, authorities warned today, as taps ran dry, days after protesters from the Jat community in neighbouring Haryana sabotaged a crucial waterway to press for reservation in government jobs and education.

The Jats have called off their agitation after the Haryana government accepted their demands following days of riots, arson and looting that saw thousands of troops deployed. Protests, though, continue in some areas.

But Delhi's water board was still racing to restore full supplies to the city of 17 million people that relies heavily on a canal running through Haryana, which encircles the city on all but its east side.

Water crisis is blown out of proportion.

80MGD got released from munak.

Okhla[south], dwaraka[west] , north west got 20,40,20 MGD.

new delhi got excellently serviced thru tankers. Seat of power is there.

Some used borewells.

Others used tankers.

No one really starved for water except those who do not have the habit of storing at least one day supply.

It is always the people who are careless about living who shout the most.

One may come here to say that water crisis is blown out of proportion.

And someone else may come to say that JNU agitation, etc are also blown outof proportion

Why this alleged seat of power then suffers with all the crisis?

Why Kejriwal approaches either Court or L.G. for every issue? Is he powerless?

One can now understand that it is always the people who close their eyes about what is actually happening around and wander in dreamland, do have different cooked up story to convey.

It is reported by the Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra that till thetime Munak is totally repaired, supply will be limited,"

He seems to have also tweeted and advisedpeople to use water judiciously.

He had also reported to have written separate letters to the Home Ministeras well as Defence Minister urging them to deploy army engineers to repair the Munak canal at the earliest so that water supply could be restored to Delhi.

A team ofthe Delhi Jal Board engineers were also sent to neighbouring Haryana to assessthe damage to the canal and assist in repair work.

"Jat stir damage to Munak canal highlights Delhi’s water vulnerability

The situation is especially bad for the most people living in Delhi slums or riverside shanties, where many rely on sewage-tainted river water, leaks from broken pipes or deliveries by municipal water trucks. (Vipin Kumar/HT Photo)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Engineers were working to restore New Delhi’s full water supply on Tuesday after Jat protesters damaged a key canal in Haryana and disrupted supplies over the weekend - highlighting the extreme water vulnerability faced by the national capital’s residents.

Some supplies resumed to northern and central parts of New Delhi, and will hopefully reach western neighbourhoods by Tuesday evening, said Delhi’s water minister, Kapil Mishra. In the meantime, 70 water tankers have been sent to western areas of the city where taps have been dry for up to two days.
The destruction of the Munak canal link by protesters demanding quotas in government jobs and educational institutions has focused attention on Delhi’s precarious water supply. The canal, which channels water from north Indian rivers, accounts for about 60% of the city’s water supply. Another 25% comes from groundwater, while the polluted Yamuna River supplies about 12%.

To tell frankly , if there is a crisis, I would be smart enough to take care of myself.

Actually there is none.

Delhi is political and anything small is blown out of proportion and made to appear critical.

What TV channels project is sensationalised version to get eyeballs.

Some are discovering even incidents are doctored to get viewers attention.

Life is absolutely normal.

I could wash one weeks clothes on washing machine with full water supply .

This alone required 200 litres -ie about ten 19 litre buckets of water.

Also law and order no issues.

Travelled 45 km from east to west via south with no hassles .

I could not sense any blockade or jams.

Of course if one is frequenting the courts or JNU or jantar mantar , we can see lawyers, police , student activists and politicians in full throttle.

Today is opening of parliament .

Delhi is a big city.

We can ignore these nuisances and carry on.

Thats what delhi walas do.

Instead of talking about Delhi which is allged as a '
seat of power', I just remember one incident which is history and no one who is well versed in politics forget this defeat.

It is the BJP Government which was then at the '
seat of power', was defeated in the ‘No Confidence Motion’ in one vote way back in 1999.

No Government has before had lost its majority by one vote. And the one vote was...........................

Now where is power???

Which is
seat of power???

All convenient lies which is nothing to do with truth.

Above all Delhi's fate is not in Delhi's hands bcos it is actually ruled by various authorities like
LG, MHA, DDA and MOUD.

In such a situation, both the C.M. as well as the public are helpless.

Need to carry on everyday life facing the challenges thrown on them like water crisis, pollution, etc and try to conveniently cover up with cooked up stories.

Central Govt & Haryana Govt. ...... both under BJP rule.

If Modi does not raise to the occasion and interfere, then Delhi people will not tolerate with Modi's silence.

Peoples' sympathy would be with Kejriwal.

It is his AAP that was reported to have accepted donation of upto two crores and that too from a fraud andbogus companies which have any transactions, but have furnished wrong addressesof their offices and the Proprietors don’t even exist.

Delhiites will soon wake up to know more such misdeeds reported in the media.
