Many brahmins are so worried about missing the practices and worrying , it might increase the distance between god and them. Also many for the sake of just doing them because they are brahmins. Both are absolutely wrong that missing them due to unavidable situations will never cause problems and people who just do them for the name sake, can never attain god.

When one is pure at Heart sacrificing things for God, is always with god. I could see many yoga classes and practices for betterment of life to enjoy materialistic life. Those are wrong and sincere devotion to god will always take you closer to him and yoga s another way of realizing self.

That is one view. Before embracing it in tot, one must also familiarise himself with the output of great yogis (krishna, the great yogi), and those (azhwars, nayanmars, devotional poets ...); same prop will not suit all.

jayalalitha banned all animal sacrifices in temples; had to withdraw the ordinance when she understood the way our religion works.
