Who can be invited to Golu?

Hi!

I am having a debate with my partner.

My partner believes that for events like Varalakshmi Nombu and Golu, only other brahmins should be invited (to visit and if they wish receive neivedhyam / chundal / kookumum / vethalai, etc).

Is this correct? It feels quite restrictive to me, but I wanted to make sure.

Your avatar name suggests that you are a man. I may be wrong. You had a debate with your partner!!!! is that person your wife or husband? Unless you are a traditional Hindu wife, you can invite any other person. If you are not, this question is not even relevant.

But if you pose this question to 10 people, you will get 20 answers, and some of them will contradict others. There is only one correct answer: you invite everyone you know.
