Are we living in past glory???
Most of the brahmins in recent times seems to have disappeared.
gone were the times when Tam brams used to be in the limelight of things.
nowadays most of us have come to an unsaid agreement in terms of what a Tam bram must do...
either they devote themselves to the gods or the most common and seemingly most popular choice being study hard and go abroad.
this seems to be ideal choice for tam brams with the age old notion that tam brams are intelligent and are good in certain key subjects/areas.
so the parents tend to make their sons and daughters study harder with each coming year, so that they get good marks in the deciding exams thereby making the process of going abroad easier.
we are willing to bask in the glory of previous tam brams more now than we were doing in couple of years/decades ago.
are we lacking a serious role model for our youngsters ???
are we more keen on basking on age old glory than spend some time and effort in creating a name for ourselves now??
what do you think??
